  • How to remove unused usings from class file ?

    When we create a .cs file means code file class is automatically create. That .cs file means class has default usings for namespace. using System;using System.Collections.Generic;using System.Linq;using System.Web;using System.Web.UI;using System.Web.UI.WebControls; We don't use all namespaces  in that class so we have to remove unused namespaces from file. We can remove  namespace manually but it takes time and need full knowledge of class library so we can use Visual Studio . Step 1:  Right Click in .cs File. Step 2:  Move on Organize usings. Step 3: Click on Remove Unused Usings. After that we have only those namespaces in the file these are using.

  • Sometimes new windows don't come to the front when launched

    I'm using gnome shell with new ubuntu for few days now and have experienced really annoying behaviour with new windows. Sometimes when I use another window and press e.g. Alt Ctrl T to open new terminal window, I don't get this window being brought to front. Instead I get notification at the bottom that "New terminal window is ready to use". The same is with Pidgin being integrated with gnome shell (via extension). Every time I get new message, window pops up but doesn't show. I need to either Alt Tab it or click the notification. Is there any way to have new windows being always brought to front, and remove those annoying "Window is ready" notifications?   • Best strategy to discover a web service in a local network?

    I am currently doing some research for a project. The setup is simple, I have a computer running a service in my home network and any device connected to that same network should be able to discover the service automatically and use it. I have no specific technology requirement whether it is on the server or client side. The client knows about the service definition. Other than that I have no idea what strategy to use, what technology to look at or whether I should go for a SOAP or a HTTP based service. I think going HTTP with REST API is the best for targeting all devices but I am opened to any suggestions. Thanks.

What are different paths one can choose as a programmer and what are the common frameworks/languages/platforms in those paths. Currently I'm well versed with C/C++ and Python and I'm a beginner with Django. I want to know this because I can't decide what to proceed with after this, which route to take.   • If my URL's are static, but then parsed by Javascript, does that make it crawlable?

    Lets say I have a link: <a href="/about/">About Us</a> But in Javascript [or jQuery] catches it and then adds the hash based off of the href attribute: $('a').click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); // Extremely oversimplified.. window.location.hash = $(this).attr('href'); }); And then we use a hashchange event to do the general 'magic' of Ajax requests. This allows for the actual href to be seen by crawlers, but gives client-side users with JS enabled an ajax-based website. Does this 'help' the general SEO issues that come along with hashtags? I know hashbangs are 'ok', but afaik they aren't reliable?

  • Is C++11 Uniform Initialization a replacement for the old style syntax?

    I understand that C++11's uniform initialization solves some syntactical ambiguity in the language, but in a lot of Bjarne Stroustrup's presentations (particularly those during the GoingNative 2012 talks), his examples primarily use this syntax now whenever he is constructing objects. Is it recommended now to use uniform initialization in all cases? What should the general approach be for this new feature as far as coding style goes and general usage? What are some reasons to not use it? Note that in my mind I'm thinking primarily of object construction as my use case, but if there are other scenarios to consider please let me know.
