    To start I'm using Ninject 1.5. I have two projects: Web project and a Class library. My DI configuration is within the Web project. Within my class library I have the following defined: public interface ICacheService<T> { string Identifier { get; } T Get(); void Set( T objectToCache, TimeSpan timeSpan ); bool Exists(); } And then a concrete class called CategoryCacheService. In my web project I bind the two: Bind( typeof( ICacheService<List<Category>> ) ).To( typeof(CategoryCacheService)).Using<SingletonBehavior>(); In my class library I have extension methods for the HtmlHelper class, for example: public static class Category { [Inject] public static ICacheService Categories { get; set; } public static string RenderCategories(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper) { var c = Categories.Get(); return string.Join(", ", c.Select(s = s.Name).ToArray()); } } I've been told that you cannot inject into static properties, instead I should use Kernel.Get<() - However... Since the code above is in a class library I don't have access to the Kernel. How can I get the Kernel from this point or is there a better way of doing this? Thanks!

    I have a little problem. I'm using Codeigniter with SSH library written by Shuky (https://bitbucket.org/quicktips/codeigniter-ssh2-library/src/a444968345ba/SSH.php -- You can see the code by following this link). Everything related with SSH works fine with other devices, but when I try to use this library and execute commands on Cisco devices, nothing happens (commands are not executed). I know that the connection is successful, but I can't execute any commands.     My goal is to create a log4net library that can be shared across multiple projects. In my solution which is in .net 4.0, I created a class library called Logger and referenced it from web project. Now I created a logger.config in the class library and put all the configuration in the logger.config file. I then used [assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(Watch = true, ConfigFile = "Logger.config")] When I run the web app nothing is getting logged. So I added this line of code in web.config <add key="log4net.Internal.Debug" value="true"/> which gave me debugging info and error information Failed to find configuration section 'log4net' in the application's .config file. Check your .config file for the and elements. The configuration section should look like: I moved the configuration from logger.config to web.config and everything seems to work fine. I don't want the log4net configuration in web.config but have it logger.config as a cleaner approach. The goal is to make other projects use this library and not have to worry about configuration in every project. Now the question is, How do I do this? What am I doing wrong? Any suggestion with code example will be beneficial to everyone. FYI, I am using structure map IOC to reslove the logger before logging to it.

  • How do I use a shared library (in this case JsonCpp) in my C++ program on Linux?

    I'm a new-ish C++ programmer, and I'm doing my first program on my own using C++. I decided I would like to use JSON to store some of the data I'm going to be using, and I've found a library to handle JSON, JsonCpp. I've installed the library using my Linux system's package manager, and in my C++ code, I've used in my source code file #include <json> and compiled it using g++ and it's -ljson and -L/usr/lib options (libjson.so is located in /usr/lib). However, the first usage of Json::Value, an object provided by the library, gives a compilation error of "Json has not declared". I'm sure my mistake is something simple, so could someone explain what I'm doing wrong? None of the books I had mention how to use shared libraries, so I've had to google to find this much.

Real framework needs modification of system setting. And still not work smoothly on every parts. Problem is static library need header files, and it's impossible to reference header files on project at another location on different project without some script. And script breaks IDE's file management abstraction. How can I use static library project like a convenient module manner? (just dragging project into another project to complete embedding)

    I'm working on a library that needs reflection, and needs Scala-specific information as opposed to what is available via the standard Java reflection API. Right now I'm using the undocumented code in scalap (the Scala equivalent to javap) and trying to associate the data it provides with Java reflection objects so that I can call methods and such (scalap just parses class files). I found this but there's nothing there... https://github.com/dubochet/scala-reflection ...and I've searched the Scala SVN repo for traces of it and failed to find it there, either (but it could be I just missed it). Does anyone know of a Scala reflection library that provides information similar to what scalap provides but also allows you to call methods, access fields, etc like the Java reflection library?

    I am developing a Excel automation app that read and write to Excel spreadsheet. I have Office 2007 installed on my machine. I therefore can reference the Excel 12.0 Object Library and the Excel 5.0 Object Library. I don't want to use Excel 5.0 because it's really quite old and poorly documented. Therefore I'm referencing Excel 12.0. However the target machine have Office 2003 installed and therefore only have Excel 11.0. So when I compile my program it crashes on the target machine since the referenced library are different. I was wondering is there a way I could obtain the Excel 11.0 without installing Office 03? I tried to find answers from msdn and microsoft support page but couldn't find anything? This is quite strange since it could also happen in the future where developers has newer editions of Office than clients?

    I've got raw data streams from image files, like: vector<char> rawData(fileSize); ifstream inFile("image.jpg"); inFile.read(&rawData[0]); I want to parse the headers of different image formats for height and width. Is there a portable library that can can read ints, longs, shorts, etc. from the buffer/stream, converting for endianess as specified? I'd like to be able to do something like: short x = rawData.readLeShort(offset); or long y = rawData.readBeLong(offset) An even better option would be a lightweight & portable image metadata library (without the extra weight of an image manipulation library) that can work on raw image data. I've found that Exif libraries out there don't support png and gif.

  • Android: Best way/library to write an app that simply gets/sets your Facebook status, sends Facebook

    I have the Android Facebook-Connect library running in my emulator and I'm able to set my status with the Facebook API I have setup. However, I don't know where to go from there? Am I supposed to use the session key that this library allows me to get and make some Facebook API calls? I haven't found any code examples to even see what the proper syntax is. Am I better off using another library? I tried fbrocket with limited luck(I get a "server error 104 - Incorrect signature"). Thanks for any help.

    Hi, I need to make calls from webpage to external library written in C++ and display the result. Platform is Linux, Apache, PHP. My current idea is to use PHP service which will call my library/program. I found that there are two possible ways to do this: 1) use PHP 'exec' function 2) write PHP extension I am curious what works more effective? Faster? Less load the server? I will probably need to do 4 calls per second, so I want to be as optimal as possible. P.S. My table that I am selecting from is a table that stores user votes with fields: points_id (1=vote up ,2=vote down), user_id, timestamp, and topic_id. What I need to do is select all the votes and somehow group them into respective days and then sum the difference between 1 votes and 2 votes for each day. I then need to somehow display the data in the appropriate plotting format shown earlier. For example April 1, 4 votes. The data needs to be separated by commas, except the last plot entry, so I am not sure how to approach that.   • Java object graph -> xml when direction of object association needs to be reversed.

    An application I have been working on has objects with a relationship similar to below. In the real application both objects are JPA entities. class Underlying{} class Thing { private Underlying underlying; public Underlying getUnderlying() { return underlying; } public void setUnderlying(final Underlying underlying) { this.underlying = underlying; } } There is a requirement in the application to create xml of the form: <template> <underlying> <thing/> <thing/> <thing/> </underlying> </template> So we have a situation where the object graph expresses the relationship between Thing and Underlying in the opposite direction to how it's expressed in the xml. I expect to use JAXB to create the xml but ideally I don't want to have to create a new object hierarchy to reflect the associations in the xml. Is there any way to create xml of the form required from the entities in their current form (through the use of xml annotations or something)? I don't have any experience using JAXB but from the limited research I've done it doesn't seem like it's possible to reverse the direction of association in any straightforward way. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. One other option that has been suggested is to use XLST to transform the xml into the correct format. I have done no research on this topic as yet but I'll add to the question when I have some more info. Thanks, Matt.

  • Publishing content to multiple (unknown) domains using Open Graph?

    I'm working on an application that publishes content ('articles') on a variety of URLs, which are all controlled by the same WordPress installation (mapped domains, all powered by the same set of code/part of a network). All of the publishing is done through one central Facebook App. I have no idea what the domains for these URLS are going to be, since they are controlled by our users who register domains and then configure them within their account on our service. When I attempt to use Open Graph to publish content on one of these sites (that has a customized domain), they are rejected with the following error (error code 1611028): Object at URL * * * * of type 'article' is invalid because the domain '* * * ' is not allowed for the specified application id ' * * *'. You can verify your configured 'App Domain' at.... Since I can't enter all of the domains into Facebook, and since they are not derived from my App URL anyway, is there any way that I can have this work? Some sort of magic OG tag I can put in the pages or something? Or is it just not possible to do what I'm trying to do?

  • iPhone application build fails with "dyld: Library not loaded: /System/[...]" error? Why?

    For my own reasons and not for the app store I am referencing the Apple private framework Apple80211 in an iPhone app. I got the framework from an earlier version of the iPhone SDK. I added the "existing framework", verified that that absolute path to the framework is /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS4.0.sdk/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework and tried to build the app. But the build (to device) fails with the error dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Apple80211 Referenced from: /var/mobile/Applications/3691587D-87AF-44EA-A505-F73D17F39B3B/iWire2.app/iWire2 Reason: image not found I cannot figure out why Xcode would look for the library in a /System path (instead of using the path given in the frameworks list) or how to change that behaviour. I tried the tricks I found here and elsewhere for similar (and identical) sitiations: Delete the myusername.* files in the xcodeproj bundle Delete the build directory Clean all targets Start new project Result is always the same. How can I add this (or a) framework to an iPhone project AND get Xcode to at least look at the library located where I point to rather than a location in /System?

  • PDC and Tech-Ed Europe Slides and Code

    I spent close to three weeks on the road giving talks at Tech-Ed Europe (Berlin), PDC (Los Angeles), and the Los Angeles Code Camp (Los Angeles). I got to talk about two topics that I am very passionate about: ASP.NET MVC and Ajax. Thanks everyone for coming to all my talks! Here are three of my favorite new features: Client Validation – Client validation done the right way. Do your validation in your model and let the validation bubble up to JavaScript code automatically. Areas – Divide your ASP.NET MVC application into sub-applications. Great for managing both medium and large projects. RenderAction() – Finally, a way to add content to master pages and multiple pages without doing anything strange or twisted.
