    I was wondering if anyone else has figured out how to solve this problem. Whether I install the extension via PECL or compile it by hand, I get the same error: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/gearman.so' - dlopen(/usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/gearman.so, 9): no suitable image found. Did find: /usr/local/zend/lib/php_extensions/gearman.so: mach-o, but wrong architecture in Unknown on line 0 I have no idea how to fix this problem and I can only bang my head into my desk so many times.

    For example, I alter a column in a table to be not null from null. I need to then delete and readd the table. That part is pretty clear. What about views, functions, and stored procedures that access the table, especially that column in the table? I've tried running diffs against the files generated by SQLMetal with some limited success, but even with that it's fairly unclear. I know there is at least one commercial tool out there that claims to address this problem, but I am looking for something free. How are people dealing with this issue?

  • LinqDataSource wizard table list is not refreshing after updating LinqToSql classes

    I have changed my dbml file like this. I have deleted all the tables and stored procs. I added new tables and stored procs from a new database. In the code-behind, I can access the new tables and stored procs. However, in the LinqDataSource using the same dbContext when I'm trying to configure the LinqDataSource. I can see all the old tables in the wizard drop-down. How to refresh the the wizard drop-down so that I can select the newly added tables? Deleting the old LinqDataSourceand adding a new one is not working.

    I am connecting to a web service to get some data back out as xml. The connection works fine and it returns the xml data from the service. var remoteURL = EveApiUrl; var postData = string.Format("userID={0}&apikey={1}&characterID={2}", UserId, ApiKey, CharacterId); var request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(remoteURL); request.Method = "POST"; request.ContentLength = postData.Length; request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; // Setup a stream to write the HTTP "POST" data var WebEncoding = new ASCIIEncoding(); var byte1 = WebEncoding.GetBytes(postData); var newStream = request.GetRequestStream(); newStream.Write(byte1, 0, byte1.Length); newStream.Close(); var response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); var receiveStream = response.GetResponseStream(); var readStream = new StreamReader(receiveStream, Encoding.UTF8); var webdata = readStream.ReadToEnd(); Console.WriteLine(webdata); This prints out the xml that comes from the service. I can also save the xml as an xml file like so; TextWriter writer = new StreamWriter(@"C:\Projects\TrainingSkills.xml"); writer.WriteLine(webdata); writer.Close(); Now I can load the file as an XDocument to perform queries on it like this; var data = XDocument.Load(@"C:\Projects\TrainingSkills.xml"); What my problem is that I don't want to save the file and then load it back again. When I try to load directly from the stream I get an exception, Illegal characters in path. I don't know what is going on, if I can load the same xml as a text file why can't I load it as a stream.   • Entity Framework query

    Hi all, I have a piece of code that I don't know how to improve it. I have two entities: EntityP and EntityC. EntityP is the parent of EntityC. It is 1 to many relationship. EntityP has a property depending on a property of all its attached EntityC. I need to load a list of EntityP with the property set correctly. So I wrote a piece of code to get the EntityP List first.It's called entityP_List. Then as I wrote below, I loop through the entityP_List and for each of them, I query the database with a "any" function which will eventually be translated to "NOT EXIST" sql query. The reason I use this is that I don't want to load all the attached entityC from database to memory, because I only need the aggregation value of their property. But the problem here is, the looping will query the databae many times, for each EntityP! So I am wondering if anybody can help me improve the code to query the database only once to get all the EntityP.IsAll_C_Complete set, without load EntityC to memory. foreach(EntityP p in entityP_List) { isAnyNotComoplete = entities.entityC.Any(c => c.IsComplete==false && c.parent.ID == p.ID); p.IsAll_C_Complete = !isAnyNotComoplete; } Thank you very much!

    Ok, I didn't want a bunch of ICommands in my MVVM ViewModels so I decided to create a MarkupExtension for WPF that you feed it a string(the name of the method), and it gives you back an ICommand that executes the method. here's a snippet: public class MethodCall : MarkupExtension { public MethodCall(string methodName) { MethodName = methodName; CanExecute = "Can" + methodName; } public override object ProvideValue(IServiceProvider serviceProvider) { Binding bin= new Binding { Converter = new MethodConverter(MethodName,CanExecute) }; return bin.ProvideValue(serviceProvider); } } public class MethodConverter : IValueConverter { string MethodName; public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { //Convert to ICommand ICommand cmd = ConvertToICommand(); if (cmd == null) Debug.WriteLine(string.Format("Could not bind to method 'MyMethod' on object",MethodName)); return cmd; } } It works great, except when the binding fails(e.g. you mistype). When you do this in xaml: {Binding MyPropertyName} you see in the output window whenever the binding fails. and it tells you the propertyName the Type name etc. The MethodConverter Class can tell you the name of the method that failed, but it can't tell you the source object type. Because the value will be null. I can't figure out how to store the source object type so for the following class public class MyClass { public void MyMethod() { } } and the following xaml: <Button Command={d:MethodCall MyMethod}>My Method</Button> It currently says: "Could not bind to method 'MyMethod' on object but I would like it to say: "Could not bind to method 'MyMethod' on object MyClass Any ideas?

Of course, the problem is the different ObjectContext, so I use Attach/Detach and then the problem solves but with a codding horror price: db.Attach(locationFromCache); // ???? try { // Use location as foreign key db.SaveChanges(); } finally { db.Detach(locationFromCache); // ???? } So, how can I use cached objects without using attach/detach methods? What happens if more than one user will have to use this cached object? Should I put the whole thing in a CriticalSection?!

    I have a List<MyClass> with 2 items which have a SequenceNumber property. If I use this code below the returned index is 0 not 1: var test = TrackingCollection .Where(x => x.SequenceNumber == 2) .Select((item, index) => new { index, item.SequenceNumber }); Is this because that refers to 0 as the index in my new anonymous type or is it some zero index based weirdness that I just need to increment. What I'm after is to return the index in TrackingCollection where the sequence number is 2 or 887 or any other correct index in the original collection...

  • C# dbml stops linking tables to code

    I am having occasional trouble with my C# dbml where it starts not linking properly. I do not know how to replicate the exact cause of the problem, it was working perfectly until I changed a database table and then deleted the table and readded it with the new schema. The error message I get is "The type or namespace name 'tbl' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) The only fix I have found is to make a new dbml readd the tables. Any ideas what to do or why this is happening?

    I have a xml file that looks like this: <DataTalk> <Posts> <TalkPost> <PostType>dialog</PostType> <User>ABBE</User> <Customer>HRM - Heroma</Customer> <PostedDate>0001-01-01T00:00:00</PostedDate> <Message>TEST</Message> </TalkPost> </Posts> </DataTalk> When I now want to save new elements, I do: document.root.add((new XElement("TalkPost", new XElement("PostType", newDialog.PostType), new XElement("User", newDialog.User), new XElement("Customer", newDialog.Customer), new XElement("PostedDate", newDialog.PostDate), new XElement("Message", newDialog.Message))); The problem is now that it gets saved at the wrong hierarchal level. They all gets saved under <datatalk> and not under <posts> that I wan't to. How should I do to save the new elements under the <posts> hierarchically

Can this be done with the built-in serialization atrributes? If it's not possible, what's the cleanest workaround? Bear in mind that each document will have about 50 player elements, each with about 50 'child' data elements.

    I'm creating my generic DataContext using only the connectionString in the ctor. I have no issues in retrieving the table using DataContext.GetTable(). However, I need to also be able to retrieve entities of inline table functions. The dbml designer generates public IQueryable<testFunctionResult> testFunction() { return this.CreateMethodCallQuery<testFunctionResult>(this, ((MethodInfo)(MethodInfo.GetCurrentMethod()))); } The question is how do I get the MethodInfo.GetCurrentMethod() when the DataContext has no method called "testFunction", i.e.typeof(DataContext).GetMethod("testFunction") returns null?   • Which layer should create DataContext?

    I have a problem to decide which layer in my system should create DataContext. I have read a book, saying that if do not pass the same DataContext object for all the database updates, it will sometimes get an exception thrown from the DataContext. That's why i initially create new instance of DataContext in business layer, and pass it into data access layer. So that the same datacontext is used for all the updates. But this lead to one design problem, if i wanna change my DAL to Non-LinqToSQL in future, i need to re-write the code in business layer as well. Please give me some advice on this. Thanks.
