  • Have an unprivileged non-account user ssh into another box?

    I know how to get a user to ssh into another box with a key: ssh -l targetuser -i path/to/key targethost But what about non-account users like apache? As this user doesn't have a home directory to which it can write a .ssh directory, the whole thing keeps failing with: $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -l targetuser -i path/to/key targethost Could not create directory '/var/www/.ssh'. Warning: Permanently added '<hostname>' (RSA) to the list of known hosts. Permission denied (publickey). I've tried variations using -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null and setting $HOME to /dev/null and none of these have done the trick. I understand that sudo could probably fix this for me, but I'm trying to avoid having to require a manual server config since this code will be deployed on a number of different environments. Any ideas? Here's a few examples of what I've tried that don't work: $ sudo -u apache export HOME=path/to/apache/writable/dir/ ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=path/to/apache/writable/dir/.ssh/known_hosts -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=path/to/apache/writable/dir/.ssh/known_hosts -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost $ sudo -u apache ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null -l deploy -i path/to/key targethost Eventually, I'll be using this solution to run rsync as the apache user.

  • How do I correct "Commit Failed. File xxx is out of date. xxx path not found."

    I have recently run into a particularly sticky issue regarding committing the result of a merge in subversion. Our Subversion server is @ 1.5.0 and my TortoiseSVN client is now @ 1.6.1. I am trying to merge a feature branch back into my trunk. The merge appears to work okay; however, the commit fails with the following error message. Commit failed (details follow): File 'flex/src/com/penbay/invision/portal/services/http/soap/ReportServices/GetAllBldgsParamsByRegionBySiteResultEvent.as' is out of date '/svn/ibis/!svn/wrk/531d459d-80fa-ea46-bfb4-940d79ee6d2e/visualization/trunk/source/flex/src/com/penbay/invision/portal/services/http/soap/ReportServices/GetAllBldgsParamsByRegionBySiteResultEvent.as' path not found You have to update your working copy first. My working trunk is up to date. I have even checked out a new one into a different folder to make sure there wasn't any local cruft messing with the merge. I have done some more research into this and I think part of the problem is user error. I think our problems are: We had some developers committing work with a subversion client before 1.5 and some after. I believe this has the potential to corrupt the merge info. In other branches we have performed partial merges. That is, we did not always perform merges at the root of the branch. This was to facilitate updating Flex and .NET efforts within the same branch. We performed cyclic (reflexive) merges on our branch. This was done because we had multiple parallel branches and we wanted to periodically update our branch with the latest code in trunk. All of these things are explicitly not recommended by the Subversion book/team. We have learned our lesson and now know the best practices. However, we first need to merge and commit our latest branch. What it the best way to correct the problems we are encountering? Would deleting all the merge info in the trunk and branch be a viable solution? No. I have done this but it does not resolve the error that I am getting above.

I've heard about bakesale but I have no info on it whether is up to par with magento, cubecart or other carts out there. It's been a while since they have updated info on bakesale (August 2008). So if anyone has any info how reliable and secure bakesale is or is it better to use other php carts any info wil be appreciated.

  • Edit Contact code worked in 1.6 but doesn't work on Droid 2.1?

    Hi All, I had some fairly simple code in my app to invoke Edit Contact activity on a known good contact index that worked in Android 1.6 but is broken for me now in Android 2.1 on the Droid.   • How to create a semi transparent window in WPF that allows mouse events to pass through

    I am trying to create an effect similar to the Lights out /lights dim feature in Adobe Lightroom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87hNd3vaENE) except in WPF. What I tried was to create another window over-top of my existing window, make it transparent and put a semi transparent Path geometry on it. But I want mouse events to be able to pass through this semi transparent window (on to windows below). This is a simplified version of what I have: <Window x:Class="LightsOut.MaskWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" AllowsTransparency="True" WindowStyle="None" ShowInTaskbar="False" Topmost="True" Background="Transparent"> <Grid> <Button HorizontalAlignment="Left" Height="20" Width="60">click</Button> <Path IsHitTestVisible="False" Stroke="Black" Fill="Black" Opacity="0.3"> <Path.Data> <RectangleGeometry Rect="0,0,1000,1000 "/> </Path.Data> </Path> </Grid> The window is fully transparent, so on places where the Path doesn't cover, mouse events pass right through. So far so good. The IsHitTestvisible is set to false on the path object. So mouse events will pass through it to other controls on the same form (ie you can click on the Button, because it is on the same form). But mouse events wont pass through the Path object onto windows that are below it. Any ideas? Or better ways to solve this problem? Thanks.

  • Baffled by differences between WPF BitmapEncoders

    I wrote a little utility class that saves BitmapSource objects to image files. The image files can be either bmp, jpeg, or png. Here is the code: public class BitmapProcessor { public void SaveAsBmp(BitmapSource bitmapSource, string path) { Save(bitmapSource, path, new BmpBitmapEncoder()); } public void SaveAsJpg(BitmapSource bitmapSource, string path) { Save(bitmapSource, path, new JpegBitmapEncoder()); } public void SaveAsPng(BitmapSource bitmapSource, string path) { Save(bitmapSource, path, new PngBitmapEncoder()); } private void Save(BitmapSource bitmapSource, string path, BitmapEncoder encoder) { using (var stream = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Create)) { encoder.Frames.Add(BitmapFrame.Create(bitmapSource)); encoder.Save(stream); } } } Each of the three Save methods work, but I get unexpected results with bmp and jpeg. Png is the only format that produces an exact reproduction of what I see if I show the BitmapSource on screen using a WPF Image control. Here are the results: BMP - too dark JPEG - too saturated PNG - correct Why am I getting completely different results for different file types? I should note that the BitmapSource in my example uses an alpha value of 0.1 (which is why it appears very desaturated), but it should be possible to show the resulting colors in any image format. I know if I take a screen capture using something like HyperSnap, it will look correct regardless of what file type I save to. Here's a HyperSnap screen capture saved as a bmp: As you can see, this isn't a problem, so there's definitely something strange about WPF's image encoders. Do I have a setting wrong? Am I missing something?

I was able to do it when it returns just one result but when it gives me multiple results I could only edit the very last item.     I am working an idea that involves getting a full capture of the screen including windows and apps, analyzing it, and then drawing items back onto the screen, as an overlay. I want to learn image processing techniques and I could get lots of data to work with if I can directly access the Windows screen. I could use this to build automation tools the likes of which have never been seen before. More on that later. I have full screen capture working for the most part. Performance is somewhat satisfactory. BitBlt executes in 50 milliseconds (sometimes as low as 33ms) at 1920x1200x32. What surprises me is that when I switch display mode to 16 bit, 1920x1200x16, either through my graphics settings beforehand, or by using ChangeDisplaySettings, I get a massively improved screen grab time between 1ms and 2ms, which cannot be explained by the factor of two reduction in bit-depth. Using CreateDIBSection (as above) offers a significant speed up when in 16-bit mode, compared to if I set up with CreateCompatibleBitmap (6-7ms/f). Does anybody know why dropping to 16bit causes such a speed increase? Is there any hope for me to grab 32bit at such speeds? if not for the color depth, but for not forcing a change of screen buffer modes and the awful flickering.

  • Failure to connect to admin share pops up dialog

    I'm having an issue with a curious error message when accessing the administrative share on a remote machine. Specifically, the client is logged in as the domain administrator on the machine A, and runs some code that tries to access the admin share on B (a domain member). The access is done in .NET, along these lines (though I am not sure if the method of access makes a difference): string path = @"\\B\admin$"; if (Directory.Exists(path)) { try { path += @"\temp\"; if (!Directory.Exists(path)) { Directory.CreateDirectory(path); } path += "myfile_remote"; File.Copy("myfile", path); Now, on some machines this fails. That is not a big problem as we have a fallback. I'd like to know why but it is not the real issue. The problem is that running this piece of code causes a dialog box to pop up for the logged-in user on B, saying "network error trying to access \\B\admin$\temp\myfile_remote. Contact the network administrator and ask for the correct permissions". Unfortunately, it is a foreign language Windows so I'll spare you all posting a screenshot. It is skinned like a standard Windows dialog box. Why exactly is that dialog box popping up for the user and is there anything I can do about it? Edit to add: B is a Windows 7 Enterprise installation. The client is not aware of any GPO policies being installed. There is AV from Trend Micro installed.

    I'm just starting too use python, learning experience. I know the basics logic of programming. I have a function in python that is running everytime, even when it's not supposed to. I use an if statement in the beginning of the function. I don't know why this if statement is not working, confused. I have another function that is similar and works correctly. Am I missing something simple?   • script to list user's mapped drive not giving results or error

    We are in the process of migrating two file servers to a new server. We have mapped drives via user group in group policy. Many users have manually mapped drives and we need to find these mappings. I have created a PowerShell script to run that remotely get the drive mappings. It works on most computers but there are many that are not returning results and I am not getting any error messages. Each workstation on the list creates a text file and the ones that are not returning results have no text in the files. I can ping these machines. If the machine is not turned on, it does come up error message that the RPC server is not available. My domain user account is in a group that is in the local admin account. I have no idea why some are not working.   • Accept All Cookies via HttpClient

    So this is currently how my app is set up: 1.) Login Activity. 2.) Once logged in, other activities may be fired up that use PHP scripts that require the cookies sent from logging in. I am using one HttpClient across my app to ensure that the same cookies are used, but my problem is that I am getting 2 of the 3 cookies rejected. I do not care about the validity of the cookies, but I do need them to be accepted. I tried setting the CookiePolicy, but that hasn't worked either.     I'm refactoring a website using MVC. What was a set of huge pages with javascript, php, html etc etc is becoming a series of controllers and views. I'm trying to do it in a modular way so views are split in 'modules' that I can reuse in other pages when needed eg. "view/searchform displays only one div with the searchform "view/display_events displays a list of events and so on. One of the old pages was supposed to load a google map with a marker on it. I've read about window.onload but don't know what's the correct syntax for that. please keep in mind that other parts of the page include other js functions (eg, google adsense) that are called after the footer.

    i am running Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS and it came pre-packed with python2.6 but i need to replace it with python2.7.2. (The reason is simple, 2.7 has a lot of features backported from 3 ) i had installed python2.7.2 using ./configure make make altinstall the altinstall option installed it, without touching the system default version, to /usr/local/lib/python2.7 and placed the interpreter in /usr/local/bin/python2.7 Then to help mod_wsgi find python2.7 i added the following to /etc/apache2/sites-available/wsgisite WSGIPythonHome /usr/local i start apache and run a test wsgi app BUT i am greeted by python 2.6.5 and not Python2.7 Later i replaced the default python simlink to point to python 2.7 ln -f /usr/local/bin/python2.7 /usr/bin/python Now typing 'python' on the console opens python2.7 but somehow mod_wsgi still picks up python2.6 Next i tried, PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH export PATH then do a quick restart apache, but yet again its python2.6 !! Also, the startTotalLine method doesn't affect the line. I want it to animate the the line drawing from right to left
