Programming error in 'aptdaemon' [closed]

Using Ubuntu 11.10
While performing updates through the update manager I get the following message:
An unhandlable error occured
There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks.

Tried some of the fixes that were posted but did not work. What shall I do to fix this issue?
