  • How to get Employeers-ID atribute from active directory on webpart

    Hello all, I have managed to get info about the currently logged in user on my webpart by using this short code; WindowsPrincipal p = Thread.CurrentPrincipal as WindowsPrincipal; string strLoggedInUser = p.Identity.Name; What I would need now, is to get info of Employeer-ID atribute from the active directory, wich I have added by following this quide over here; http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Windows/microsoft.public.windows.server.active_directory/2005-08/msg01766.html I have found serval of quides about how to use active directory on the webpart, but they all were very complex for me to understand. And I only wish to get info about this single attribute "Employeers-ID". Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance!

  • Grouping problem with postback in SPGridview

    I have a SPGridView with a custom CheckBox Template in it. To access the value of the checkbox I have created the SPGridView in Page_Init method. It was working fine. I also have grouping in the grid. It was working fine till I made any postback in the page. To overcome that I created my own custom GridView and overrided the LoadControlState event. Now the problem is when I use this Custom Grid in my page the LoadControlState event occurs after the Init event and hence the grid doesnt render on the page. When i keep it in Page_Load it works fine but my custom checkbox template creates a problem then. How do I get both the custom Checkbox Template and grouping with postback in the SPGridview working properly??? Please help as this is really getting me stuck.........

  • Data in custom attribute not returned in UserProfile object in MOSS

    I've created two new custom attributes in the UserProfile. When the service we wrote returns data about a specific user by using the UserProfile object, sometimes the data isn't returned, even though if we look at the user in SSP it look populated. Some users work; this is the first user we set up with data. I'm not sure if sometime in the meantime after setting up the first user and testing, if there's something we ran and need to run again. How can I get all the users to get their data returned in a call to their UserProfile?

    Hi, I engadged a problem with inherited Controls in WinForms, and need some advice on it. I do use a base class for items in a List (selfmade GUI list made of a panel) and some inherited controls that are for each type of data that could be added to the list. There was no problem with it, but I know found out, that it would be right, to make the base-control an abstract class, since it has methods, that need to be implemented in all inherited controls, called from the code inside the base-control, but must not and can not be implemented in the base class. When I mark the base-control as abstract, the VS2008 Designer refuses to load the window. Is there any way to get the Designer work with the base-control made abstract?

    Hello. I have a list of urls (content type usage url's). Now, content types are deployed across web's. I need to loop those content types and do some actions in each list, but opening new SPWeb instance every loop is too resource intensive. Is there built-in method to tell me if this URL belongs to certain SPWeb object? Example: SPWeb's may be http://server/web1 http://server/web2 http://server/web2/subweb1 http://server/web2/subweb2 With content type usage links like: /web2/Pages /web2/Lists/Tasks /web2/Lists/Documents /web2/subweb1/Lists/Tasks ... As you can see, for first 3 usages i don't need to open up new SPWeb

    Hi.. we have created a feature ,which have got 2 application pages. one is to activate the user control and the other one is for database configuration,for the database configuration the user have to give the .mdf and .ldf files to restore the database. For the restoration of database we have used microsoft.sqlserver.replication.dll, the feature is working fine, but when we deploy it on any other machine, at the time of activation it gives error, and the error is: Error: Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache: Microsoft.SqlServer.Replication.dll.     Can somebody explain briefly the differences between a "WSS Web Application" and a normal "IIS Website"? I have read that a WSS web application is a "special" IIS Website with WSS featured. I also know that the content of a web application is stored in an SQL Server Website(called the content database) whereas an IIS Website stores it on a hard disk on the server. A point-by-point difference would be appreciated.

    Hi all: I'm experiencing a very stubborn problem when copying custom content type and its columns from one web to another within the same site. The code runs fine. But the problem is that in the SITE Content Type screen (under site settings), when I click the custom column link in the custom content type, I got an error saying: Invalid field name {UID}. The UID is the same UID as the custom column in the existing site. I checked with my web settings after completion. I can see the custom list (which I created with an item for testing purpose), but the custom column is gone from the view (though the actual data is still there... just have to check the box to get it to display). But I think that is less important... more of fyi. I've also gotten a variety of different exceptions should I copy things wrongly. Google has failed to help me out on this one. Does anyone know what I'm missing in order to get that link to work again? Thanks.

I am using the "MSF for Agile... v4.2" template as the base template and would like to set the version control settings of the "Project Management" document library todo the following: Major Versions : Enabled Documents must be checked our before they can be edited I'm using the editor GUI provided by the tfs powertools, however it does not appear these settings are available. Is it possible to define these settings in the WssTasks.XML file or do I need to approach this from a different angle.

So my understanding is (or what I could research on this) that, http://My_server TOP Level SIte or SPWEbApplication http://My_server/My_site Site Collection or SPSite Now a site under SPSite that will be referenced through SPWeb. So what are we getting when using SPWeb.Webs. What is a Subsite? Please let me know if I need to rephrase the question or more info is needed. Thanks. Is there a way to generate accessor methods for the subclasses as shown in the inheritance mapping above (Project, Task, etc...) without doing it manually? I added them manually but then a change in the designer overwrites any manual changes. Am i doing this wrong? should I not be making accessors for the sub classes? filtering from ActivityBase seems worse to me. Thanks for any help on this.

One that acts as a provider, second - consumer of a first web part and at the same time a provider for a third web part, third web part - consumer of the second. When overriding the EnsureInterfaces Method the second parameter is InterfaceType and I'm able to enter InterfaceTypes.ICellConsumer OR InterfaceTypes.ICellConsumer. Is it possible to make the second web part act both as a provider and a consumer?

  • Access external xml using xslt document function return 401

    On MOSS2007, I have a webpart that display the content of a xml feed. I use a xslt with parameters for transforamtions. There is a situation when I receive a 401 Authorisation exception. I realize that this happen when a document() function from my xslt try to open an external xml. If I try to open this xml in browser all work ok. I provided my admin credentials to the web part and to the XmlSecureResolver. Same problem. The webpart is on server1 and the xml feed and external xml required by xslt is on server2.
