  • What could possibly cause this error(when declaring an object inside a class) ? //noobie question

    I'm battling with this assignment :) I've got two classes: Ocean and Grid. When I declare an object of the Grid inside the Ocean: unsigned int sharkCount; Grid grid; The compiler/complainer says: error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'grid' Can you possibly predict what produces this error with the limited info' I provided? It seems that as if the Ocean doesn't like the Grid class. Could this be because of the poor implementation of the grid class. BTW the Grid has a default constructor. Yet the error happens in compiling time!. Thanks. EDIT: They're each in separate header file, and I've included the Grid.h in the Ocean.h.

  • Rails object inheritence with belongs_to

    I have a simple has_many/belongs_to relationship between Report and Chart. The issue I'm having is that my Chart model is a parent that has children. So in my Report model I have class Report < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :charts end And my Chart model is a parent, where Pie, Line, Bar all inherit from Chart. I'm not sure where the belongs_to :report belongs within the chart model, or children of chart model. I get errors when I attempt to access chart.report because the object is of type "Class" undefined local variable or method `report' for #< Class:0x104974b90 The Chart model uses STI so its pulling say.. 'Pie' from the chart_type column in the charts table.. what am I missing?

    I'm trying to delete a sub folder in a dws. This is the code I've got: SharepointDocs.DwsSoapClient dws = new SharepointDocs.DwsSoapClient(); dws.DeleteFolderCompleted += dws_DeleteFolderCompleted; dws.DeleteFolderAsync(DWSname+'/'+folderName); In the call back for completion I get no error codes only the message "<Results/>" On the msdn site here, it says this empty message signals a success. However, the folder is still there. Any ideas what could be the problem?

  • How to include a Custom list in one Sharepoint site in to another as a web part?

    I have two share point web sites. One is a child web site of the other. For example if my first site is myweb1, other one is myweb1/myweb2. I have a custom list created in myweb1. I want to include that as a web part in number of web pages in both myweb1 and myweb1/myweb2 sites. Including the web part in the same site which contains the custom list is not a problem. But how do I include it in the other site. The web part does not show up in the list. I dont want to copy the content of custom list. I want pages in both sites that have included this list as a web part to be updated whenever the list content is changed. Any ideas?

  • Sharepoint - how to set permission level to add item but not view?

    I want to allow a certain group of users to add items to a list, but not be able to view all items. This is so I can set up a workflow with certain parts of it private. I thought it'd be possible by defining a new permission level in: http://servername/_layouts/addrole.aspx ('Add a permission level' page) However, when you select the "add items" list permission, "view items" is automatically ticked also. Anyone know a solution to this?

  • How do I setup model associations in an RSpec test?

    I've pastied the specs I've written for the posts/show.html.erb view in an application I'm writing as a means to learn RSpec. I am still learning about mocks and stubbing. This question is specific to the "should list all related comments" spec. What I want is to test that the show view displays a post's comments. But what I'm not sure about is how to setup this test and then have the test iterate through with should contain('xyz') statements. Any hints? Other suggestions are also appreciated! Thanks. ---Edit Some more information. I have a named_scope applied to comments in my view (I know, I did this a bit backwards in this case), so @post.comments.approved_is(true). The code pastied responds with the error "undefined method `approved_is' for #", which makes sense since I told it stub comments and return a comment. I'm still not sure, however, how to chain the stubs so that @post.comments.approved_is(true) will return an array of comments.

    I'm trying to create hidden iframes in my page dynamically to load 3 other pages so that i can grab all the HTML and combine them into 1 in a new window. However i'm stuck at this. tHe frames are created fine. But whenever the javascript runs to the part of function openNewWindow() { var printWindow = window.open("",""); printWindow.document.open(); printWindow.document.write(HTMLfromFrames); printWindow.document.close(); } i get this error: TypeError: Result of expression 'printWindow' [undefined] is not an object. but if i generate a button to call this function seperately, it works fine. however i need it to run all in one click event Anybody has any idea what's wrong?     What are the reasons for and against a game object drawing and updating itself? For example, if you have a game where the player has a position on screen, why not have an all-encompassing class: public class Player { private int x, y, xVelocity, yVelocity; private Sprite s; //... public Player() { // load the sprite here, somehow? } public void draw(CustomGraphicsClass g) { g.draw(s, x, y); } public void update(long timeElapsed) { x += (xVelocity * timeElapsed); y += (yVelocity * timeElapsed); } } What is wrong with this design? What are the downfalls or concerns? How would you better write something like this, or better architect this type of thing in a game? Also, somewhat connected, how would you implement loading that Sprite image? And furthermore, how would you then implement collision between two Players? (I should probably separate these extra two questions into new questions, huh?)

    I'm working on a Rails application. I have a Module called Animals. Inside this Module is a Class with the same name as one of my Models (Dog). show_animal action: def show_animal require 'Animals/Bear.rb' #Works require 'Animals/Dog.rb' #Fails end So the first require definitely works, the seconds fails. MissingSourceFile (no such file to load -- Animals/Dog.rb): I noticed that Dog.rb is the same file name as one of my models, is that what's causing this? I'm using Webrick.

  • Can I use the SharePoint 2010 SQL Database through SharePoint from my App?

    I wonder if there is a supported way to access the SharePoint 2010 SQL Server through an API? I'm not talking about modifying any SharePoint Database directly (I know that that is still unsupported), but I'd like to store some data that my application needs, and instead of asking the user to enter a Connection String, I'd prefer to create my own database on the SQL Server that SharePoint uses. I think I could use the new Service Application stuff, but that seems a bit overkill?

In EnsureChildControls I have the following code: Image image = new Image(); image.ImageUrl = this.Page.ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "hotline.jpg"); I get a NullPointer exception and this is because 'Page' is null. Why might this be? Am I doing this all wrong anyway?

  • Fixing NativeHR 0×80070002 Error When Retracting or Deploying SharePoint Apps from Visual Studio
