    Hi. I'm trying to build spider monkey on ubuntu 10.04 (lucid). However, when I run autoconf2.13 on the js/src directory, it tells me there is no configure.in file. I can't just do the usual ./configure make sudo make install , either. What's up with it?

  • json_pure/rubygems cyclic dependencies

    I have an issue when trying to set up rvm, where gems weren't installing due to them being dependent on json_pure. I tried to install json_pure, but rubygems itself seems to depend on json_pure. I have tried removing all versions of json_pure, but rubygems still complains. $ sudo gem install json_pure /Library/Ruby/Site/1.8/rubygems.rb:777:in `report_activate_error': Could not find RubyGem json_pure (= 0) (Gem::LoadError) I have tried downloading the gem and installing it locally, but rubygems still complains about the dependency.

  • Debugging in XCode as root

    In my program I need to create sockets and bind them to listen HTTP port (80). The program works fine when I launch it from command line with sudo, escalating permissions to root. Running under XCode gives a 'permission denied' error on the call to binding function (asio::ip::tcp::acceptor::bind()). How can I do debugging under XCode? All done in C++ and boost.asio on Mac OS X 10.5 with XCode 3.1.2.

    As usual I typed sudo Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all It uninstalled the first version (Beta) properly. Tried the same thing on the older Stable Version which I have installed to "XCode Stable" Getting this error Use of uninitialized value $dir_name in substitution (s///) at Library/uninstall-devtools line 153. Use of uninitialized value $developer_dir in concatenation (.) or string at Library/uninstall-devtools line 120 Anyone else facing this problem? Can I just trash the installation folder?

I'm not sure where the error starts, it's just a huge wall of text when executing sudo python setup.py install.   • Upgrading mysql from 4.1.22 to 5.0

    Hi, I'm trying to upgrade our company's 4.1.22 version of MySQL to 5. I'm using sudo yum --enablerepo=centosplus upgrade mysql* but keep getting an error of conflicted files with the 4.1 version. Does that mean there really isn't any other way than uninstalling 4.1 and installing 5.0? I have read that using the yum upgrade command should work however... Thanks in advance!

    I'm trying to configure ftp over amazon EC2 instance, I've installed vsftpd and did the steps of adding user and modifying the vsftpd.conf file, but I'm getting my service status as ubuntu@ip-10-38-106-212:~$ sudo service vsftpd status vsftpd stop/waiting I've tried to reinstall vsftpd but still getting the same, I've also added the port 20 and 21 in my security group policy to skip the firewall.
