I'm developing an Air App using flash ... the app loads an external SWF file dynamically through an xml ... the SWF file has a movieclip that has a listener (ON click ) function mouseDownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { navigateToURL(new URLRequest(clickURL)); } everything is working fine until i click on this movieclip ... it displays the below message SecurityError: Error #2121: Security sandbox violation: navigateToURL: http://www.mydomain.com/maskot/avatar.swf cannot access YAHOO.COM for example.   • What is the best way to automated (integration) test with java with OpenId4Java against real OpenIdP

    I would like to do a bit more than manually test my openid glue code which happens to use the openid4java library. My goals would be to be able to run it within my IDE with a bunch of tests using Junit or similar. Selenium & tomcat I was thinking of using selenium and a tomcat but thats not exactly a nice approach as this is a bit heavy and not really lightweight. httpunit A solution with http-unit is incomplete because it doesnt really fit with the redirect to my openid provider, authenticate and redirect back. Perhaps i am wrong but this looks like it could get quite involved just to make sure this works. Mocks My last solution is to mock everything and assume thats its accurate and works. If google or yahoo ever change in some way, then ill have to verify manually. The approach is simple but with a major flaw.

    I'm Blackberry developer, customers using my application experiencing Error 523 and Error 200. Remedies to those errors are in first case - remove application, my application. In second case totally reload OS! This is very bad, and customers blame me! But this is I don't do anything illegal to make blackberry crash. I just used a lot of memory, which is obvious because customer want that.     Hi All, I have to solve a defect. The defect is there is a scroll bar attached to the vertical cascading menu. When I try to scroll through the items using the scrollbar , the menu disappears. That is, When i place the mouse over the scrollbar the menu disappears. But when i scroll the items through the mouse, the scrollbar is also moving. Can anyone help me out in this issue?     I'm writing a notification center widget, and it had to use location information. In normal apps I use CoreLocation and it works fine. But in my widget, I tried to locationServicesEnabled but it didn't go to the callback functions, and the authorizationStatus is always kCLAuthorizationStatusNotDetermined, and the authorize setting didn't show up in Setting - location service. I already set the delegate to the class. The system's Yahoo weather widget can auto locating and it uses CoreLocation too, so the widget do have ability to use location service. Why CoreLocation doesn't work on my widget?

    I am using some JS code to transform my menu into a drilldown menu. The problem is before it runs the JS you see a BIG UGLY mess of links. On their site its solved by putting the js at the top. Using recommendations by yahoo/YSlow i am keeping the JS files at the bottom. I tried hiding the menu with display:none then using jquery to .show(), .css('display', ''), .css('display', 'block') and they all lead up to a messsed up looking menu (i get the title but not the title background color or any links of the menu) How do i properly hide a div/menu and show it after being rendered?

Is there any free open source solution we could use to install it on our server? No point in re-inventing the wheel.

    (all are declared as ints, none are initialized to anything beforehand. I have included math.h and am compiling with -lm) cachesize = atoi(argv[1]); blocksize = atoi(argv[3]); setnumber = (cachesize/blocksize); printf("setnumber: %d\n", setnumber); setbits = (log(setnumber))/(log(2)); printf("sbits: %d\n", setbits); when given cachesize as 1024 and blocksize as 16 the output is as follows: setnumber: 64 sbits: 5 but log(64)/log(2) = 6 ! It works correctly when given cachesize 512 and blocksize 32. I can't seem to win. I'm really hoping that it's a stupid mistake on my part, and I'd be grateful if anyone could point out what it is! Thank you! PS: I posted this in Yahoo Answers first but that was probably silly. Won't be doing that again.

    I want to Debug a program called Freecall in my Windows 7 Professional laptop. Now it shows as a Startup item in "System Configuration" console. I tried to uncheck it in the Startup item and restart, but it keeps on adding itself to HKCU\Software|Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. i think its the same for Yahoo messenger..these programs keep on adding to startup even after I manually deleted the entry from the registry. I want to debug and find out if after starting the executable, the program writes to the registry. How can I do that? Is there a way I can run the binary in Sandbox mode? Are there any VS tools for this?

    Hey Guys, I signed up with Google apps standard edition for one of my domain names say example.com. I setup the emails like [email protected] - and using the Google Email client and loggin as user contact - if I send emails to users - they arrive in their inbox. But when I send it through my php script running on my hosting account where I have registered the domain example.com - using the same email address [email protected] - it ends up in the Spam folder - I've noticed this in both yahoo and gmail accounts Any tips on how to prevent this from happening.     I want to send an anonymous email to my own gmail/hotmail/yahoo/any other mail service address (Im not trying to spam or something like that). Why? I have a .NET application and I want to add a "Send log to the developer" feature (attaching the log) using SmtpClient. The fact is I've read like 30+ pages, and found out, i.e. gmail's smtp client doesn't allow anonymous connections, and many other things. The idea is to receive a mail message like this: From: [email protected] (non-existent email really) To: [email protected] (this would be my real address which will recieve the logs attachments) Subject: Issue report nºX (auto-generated) Body: From a textbox Attachments: logs attached Is this possible? If so, how do I achieve it?

  • With Google's #! mess, what effect would a redirect on the converted URL have?

    So Google takes: http://www.mysite.com/mypage/#!pageState and converts it to: http://www.mysite.com/mypage/?_escaped_fragment_=pageState ...So... Would be it fair game to redirect that with a 301 status to something like: http://www.mysite.com/mypage/pagestate/ and then return an HTML snapshot? My thought is if you have an existing html structure, and you just want to add ajax as a progressive enhancement, this would be a fair way to do it, if Google just skipped over _escaped_fragment_ and indexed the redirected URL. Then your ajax links are configured by javascript, and underneath them are the regular links that go to your regular site structure. So then when a user comes in on a static url (ie http://www.mysite.com/mypage/pagestate/ ), the first link he clicks takes him to the ajax interface if he has javascript, then it's all ajax. On a side note does anyone know if Yahoo/MSN onboard with this 'spec' (loosely used)? I can't seem to find anything that says for sure.

  • Unable to update the EntitySet because it has a DefiningQuery and no &lt;UpdateFunction&gt; element

    When working with ADO.NET Entity Data Model, its often common that we generate entity schema for more than a single table from our Database.  With Entity Model generation automated with Visual Studio support, it becomes even tempting to create and work entity models to achieve an object mapping relationship. One of the errors that you might hit while trying to update an entity set either programmatically using context.SaveChanges or while using the automatic insert/update code generated by GridView etc., is “Unable to update the EntitySet <EntityName> because it has a DefiningQuery and no <UpdateFunction> element exists in the <ModificationFunctionMapping> element to support the current operation” While the description is pretty lengthy, the immediate thing that would come to our mind is to open our the entity model generated code and see if you can update it accordingly. However, the first thing to check if that, if the Entity Set is generated from a table, whether the Table defines a primary key.  Most of the times, we create tables with primary keys.  But some reference tables and tables which don’t have a primary key cannot be updated using the context of Entity and hence it would throw this error.  Unless it is a View, in which case, the default model is read-only, most of the times the above error occurs since there is no primary key defined in the table. There are other reasons why this error could popup which I am not going into for the sake of simplicity of the post.  If you find something new, please feel free to share it in comments.   • XNA - Strange Texture Rendering Issue Using XNA BasicEffect

    I have been reading and working through Riemers 3D XNA tutorials to expand my knowledge of XNA from 2D into 3D. Unfortunately I am having rendering issues that I am unable to solve and I need a point in the right direction. I am not expecting the Models to look identical to Blender but there is some serious discoloring from the texture files once rendering through XNA. The Character model is using completely incorrect colors (Red where Grey should be) and the Cube is rendering a strange pattern where a flat color should be drawn. My sampling mode is set to PointClamp. The Character model that I created has a 32 by 32 pixel texture that has been UV mapped to the model in blender. The model was then exported to .FBX. For the Cube Model a 64 by 64 pixel texture is used. foreach (ModelMesh mesh in samuraiModel.Meshes) { foreach (BasicEffect effect in mesh.Effects) { effect.Projection = Projection; effect.View = View; effect.World = World; } mesh.Draw(); } Does this look like it is caused by a mistake I made while UV Mapping or Creating Materials in Blender? Is this a problem with using the default XNA BasicEffect? Or something completely different that i have not considered? Thank You!

  • DirectCompute

    In my previous blog post I introduced the concept of GPGPU ending with:On Windows, there is already a cross-GPU-vendor way of programming GPUs and that is the Direct X API. Specifically, on Windows Vista and Windows 7, the DirectX 11 API offers a dedicated subset of the API for GPGPU programming: DirectCompute. You use this API on the CPU side, to set up and execute the kernels on the GPU. The kernels are written in a language called HLSL (High Level Shader Language). You can use DirectCompute with HLSL to write a "compute shader", which is the term DirectX uses for what I've been referring to in this post as "kernel".In this post I want to share some links to get you started with DirectCompute and HLSL.1. Watch the recording of the PDC 09 session: DirectX11 DirectCompute.2. If session recordings is your thing there are two more on DirectCompute from nvidia's GTC09 conference 1015 (pdf, mp4) and 1411 (mp4 plus the presenter's written version of the session).3. Over at gamedev there is an old Compute Shader tutorial. At the same site, there is a 3-part blog post on Compute Shader: Introduction, Resources and Addressing.4. From PDC, you can also download the DirectCompute Hands On Lab.5. When you are ready to get your hands even dirtier, download the latest Windows DirectX SDK (at the time of writing the latest is dated Feb 2010).6. Within the SDK you'll find a Compute Shader Overview and samples such as: Basic, Sort, OIT, NBodyGravity, HDR Tone Mapping.7. Talking of DX11/DirectCompute samples, there are also a couple of good ones on this URL.8. The documentation of the various APIs is available online. Here are just some good (but far from complete) taster entry points into that: numthreads, SV_DispatchThreadID, SV_GroupThreadID, SV_GroupID, SV_GroupIndex, D3D11CreateDevice, D3DX11CompileFromFile, CreateComputeShader, Dispatch, D3D11_BIND_FLAG, GSSetShader.
