• Authentication on Exchange using EWS managed API

  I'm having a weird issue with the Exchange Web Services. The operation I'm attempting is pretty simple—pull a user's calendar items for the current week on our internal website. When testing locally, the ews managed API pulls the calendar information just fine. When deployed to the web server (using integrated windows authentication), it chokes. My trace is telling me that access is denied in the Exchange call. Initially, I thought this was a double-hop NTLM permissions issue, but it turns out that the service actually works for some internal users, but not for most. The only thing I can find that the functioning users have in common is that they are blackberry users and I surmise that their exchange permissions are setup differently. Or are their active directory accounts setup differently? I don't know and it's driving me crazy. I surmise that the blackberry app runs some scripts when a user is added to the application, but I'm completely unfamiliar with what may be going on behind the scenes there. So. Is there a way to duplicate the permissions those users enjoy (either AD or Exchange permissions)? And/or how exactly does one fix the double-hop credentials situation?

• Windows 7 - Wireless Signal Good - Internet Often Says Limited or No Activity

  Hi - I have a New Dell Studio XPS latop that I hooked up in early January of 2010. The Dell Studio XPS laptop is connected to my wireless router (Belkin Wireless N). The router was purchased in Februaru of 2010 because I thought my router was bad (A D-Link router). Comcast is my ISP. Everyday, at random times, the internet will have a good signal (according to the little Win 7 icon on the taskbar) but I will receive a message saying limited or no internet access and I cannot access the internet. I have the internet setup to automatically get an IP and I did the IPCONFIG release / renew but with no success. I even had a WiFi enabled Blackberry right next to my computer and whenever the computer loses an WiFi connection, so does the Blackberry. The router isnt't bad, because the old router did the same thing - giving me limited or no internet access while working sometimes. I also tried using two other laptops in same physical position as my Dell Studio XPS laptop and they have the same problem. I am going crazy trying to figure this out as I have called the Router Company (Belkin), my ISP (Comcast), and my computer maker (Dell). Can anyone offer some suggestions and I can try them as we work through this and maybe one of the suggestion will be right one. Thanks in advance for even reading my problem. I searched for a problem similar to mine on the internet, but I have not been able to keep a steady internet connection. (Side note - I used to have an IBM thinkpad laptop and D - Link router and for years that wireless connection worked FLAWLESSLY, with the same physical set up - the laptop in my bedroom, and the router in the basement.)

Basically the developer said he wants example.com to be cached, while: http://example.com/electronics/ would not be cached. Note the developer is using pretty URLs with an MVC framework that runs everything through index.php.

  Today we got the executive green light to proceed with changing from a Domino platform to Exchange. The business prefers Exchange for a messaging platform. (even though IMO IBM Domino is fine - if it aint broke, don't fix it but it was not my call). I have been put in charge of Domino to Exchange process goes smoothly as possible. I have also been told to put together costs for this project. I have some questions and concerns re: network design, licensing, costs: The current setup is as follows. 1 HQ office (100 users), 1 secondary office (50 users), 5 branch offices (under 10 users). 5 different email domains Windows Server 2003 functional level with a few 2008 R2 Servers Lotus Domino Notes Servers (one in each office) Ironmail Appliance Public Domino Web Mail server Majority G5+ Proliant Servers Domino Blackberry Enterprise license and server No VoIP phones What are the basic hardware requirements for Exchange 2007 or 2010? Can I simply purchase a single physical server? Will each office require an Exchange server or possibly additional servers (roles)? How is email routed to the smaller branch offices? Standard or Enterprise licenses? The business has been running Domino (messaging and application services) for over 10 years and also want Exchange to support email services, Blackberry, Outlook Web Access, possibly support for iPhone devices. • Is there a way to "burn" audio to an ISO? (as an audio CD)

  I have an audiobook that I've downloaded via their download manager, and it's loaded into their cutesy little audio program that they force you to use. I can play the book just fine using their proprietary software, and while it's annoying when using my PC, it's utterly UNBEARABLE when I try to listen to it on my Blackberry. The program is INSANELY slow, it literally takes around 30 seconds to switch between tracks, so if I've forgotten where I am in the book it takes me around 15 minutes to finally get to where I was at. I've looked everywhere on how to transcode the book to .MP3, but evidently with their current format it's either extremely convoluted (and I have no desire to dick around with installing some older version of the codec, getting a different transcoding app, and then wrestling with getting it to actually work). Since I'm able to burn a copy of the book to an audio CD, I figure the best way to go about this is to just make the CDs and then rip them off of those to .MP3. In order to avoid wasting two hours, not to mention 14 CD-R's, I was wondering if there's a way to "burn" to an .ISO instead of an actual CD-R. I currently have SlySoft's Virtual CloneDrive installed, so I can mount .ISO's easily enough, but now I want to actually create an ISO via the CD burning process. Just in case I've not explained myself very well, here is an overview of what I intend to do: "Burn" a set of Audio CD .ISOs from the audiobook (hopefully I can do this using Windows Media Player, otherwise I'll be forced to use the audiobook app) Mount an .ISO in Virtual CloneDrive Rip the audio tracks on the mounted .ISO to .MP3s Repeat steps 2-3 until the entire book is in .MP3 format Copy .MP3s to my Blackberry so that I'm not driven insane every time I want to listen to the book in the car, and be able to use Winamp when listening on my computer EDIT: I'd suppose a rather concise way to put it is that I need something that will emulate a CD-R drive, so that you can select it as the output drive in whatever app your burning the audio CD from. (I'd suppose that when you "insert a blank CD-R" the app would then ask you what file to save to)

I've tried: Enable Developer mode, Choose Protection, Choose None. When I do that, I'm given the impression that I should be able to resize a given table but I cannot actually do it.   I'm attempting to use a wordpress plugin called WP Fast Cache which creates static html files from all your posts, pages and categories. It creates the following directory structure inside wp-content: wp_fast_cache example.com pagename index.html categoryname postname index.html basically just a nested directory structure and a final index.html for each item. And not the Wordpress 404, and janky apache 404. I need to find the correct syntax to route all requests that don't exist ie: files or directories to: wp-content/wp_fast_cache/hostname/request_uri/ So for example: Page: example.com/about-us/ => wp-content/wp_page_cache/example.com/about-us/index.html Post: example.com/my-category/my-awesome-post/ => wp-content/wp_fast_cache/example.com/my-category/my-awesome-post/index.html Category: example.com/news/ => wp-content/wp_fast_cache/example.com/news/index.html Any help is appreciated.

• Tracking down source of duplicate email messages in Outlook / Exchange environment

  I have a few users, who are also Blackberry users, that occasionally have duplicate emails generated from their "mailbox". I put mailbox in quotes because I'm not exactly sure where the duplicates are created. One of these users is in non-cached mode, and the other is in cached mode, and both experience the problem. In fact, the non-cached mode user was originally experiencing the problem while in cached mode, and I made the switch a few weeks ago to attempt to solve the problem. Today I discovered the issue still exists. I'm not sure if the fact that they are blackberry users could be causing the problem at all. I don't see how, but felt I should mention it anyway. Does anyone have ideas on how I might begin to troubleshoot this? I can see in the non-cached user's mailbox "Sent Items" that the message was sent only once. I confirmed the message does not state that there was a conflict and in fact that makes sense because they are in non-cached mode. On the server, we have a mail journaling feature turned on for our third-party mail archiving system, and I can see that that system sees two sent messages. And likewise, the recipient does in fact have two messages in their inbox with consecutive message IDs ([email protected]) and ([email protected]). It would seem to me that the duplicates are generated on the client, but is there a way to tell for sure?

  My developer believes that s3fs is changing my bucket's permissions. Is this possible? I want my bucket to be public, but it keeps reverting back to private. Here's my fstab. s3fs#production /mnt/production fuse use_cache=/tmp,use_rrs=1,allow_other,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0 My developer mentioned the "-o default_acl (default="private")" option. The documentation refers to "canned acl", but I don't understand what these are.

  I've been having some problems, & since you guys are the smartest devs I thought I'd just ask you. When I last installed Xcode 3.2.3 Beta 2 (OS 4.0 support), it had all the iPhone Device & Simulator 3.x. Now, updated to Xcode 3.2.3 Beta 4 (OS 4.0 support), it no longer lists 3.x SDKs for either simulator or device in XCode. When I run an app that was written for 3.1.2, the current SDK is listed as "base SDK missing" I'm aware that 3.2.3 changes the BASE SDK to 4.0, but how come none of the 3.x devices are available either? When I go to: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs The only two files available are: iPhoneSimulator3.2.sdk iPhoneSimulator4.0.sdk However, when I go to: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport 3.0 3.0.1 3.1 3.1.1 3.1.2 3.1.3 3.2 4.0 (8A274b) I've tried re-installing the most recent XCode DMG to no avail. Developer checks the comments and makes changes (if appropriate) Developer keeps an excel sheet report for considered changes and reasons for ignored comments Problem: Developer needs to keep track of multiple labels which might have same comments Sometimes we even do One on One review and if we really have time, even do Table review (team of reviewers looks at the code on projector, on the fly, and pass comment) I was wondering: Are you guys using any specific tool which helps to do code reviews smoother? I have heard of Code Collaborator. But have anyone used that? Is it worth the money?

• Oracle 10g express home page is not coming up

  Hello All: My Oracle 10g Express Edition , I can login in the SQL plus but I cannot login into oracle via SQL developer and cannot view the Home page at link http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex. This was working fine until yesterday. I have checked via (WINDOWS)netstat -ab and no other app is using the 8080 port. The only thing I did today was I changed my SQL server 2005 Developer edition from Windows authentication to Mixed Mode authentication. Can anyone let me know how to get the Oracle Web page and the SQL Developer to work. I will gratly appreciate that. Thanks! Adnan A.

  Hi everyone, I'm trying to use the Visual Studio 2010 Express editions to set up an ASP.NET MVC 2 Web Application using SqlExpress + Entity Framework as the data access. I have both the "C# Edition" and "Web Developer Edition" installed. If I try to add a data source using the "C# edition", I'm missing the "Microsoft SQL Server" data source type. but Visual Studio 2008 Professional has it. as noted by another StackOverflow question, the "Web Developer Edition" has this. However, the Web Developer Edition doesn't support the Entity Framework items: . I'd want to stick with only the Express Editions. Is my use case one that Microsoft forgot about? What can I do here to use SqlExpress + MVC 2 + Entity Framework? Thanks! -Mike

"What is one of, or some of, the best methods or techniques to keep database changes documented, organized, and yet able to roll out effectively either in a single-developer or multi-developer environment." This may involve stored procedures and other object scripts, but especially schemas - from documentation, to the new physical update scripts, to rollout, and then full-circle. There are applications to make this happen, but require schema hooks and overhead. I would rather like to know about techniques used without a lot of extra third-party involvement.

When we integrate Rational ClearQuest and Rational ClearCase, the activities will be coming from the Rational ClearQuest. Now since the implementation of Rational ClearQuest will take time due to the process, we are thinking of removing the activity creation from the developer side. We are thinking of making the admin create the activities for each developer. Now I have a few concerns, If the admin creates the activities and changes the owner for the activity and the group using the protect command, Is it enough? • Xcode custom project template creates only references to files

  Hi, I tried to create a custom project template for setting up unit testing. The problem is that when i create a new project based on this template it creates references to the template files : When i edit a file, it changes my template files instead of my actual project files ! When i delete my template, files from my actual project becomes red ! The project template is in : /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/Library/Xcode/Project Templates/Application/Test-based Application Reading some question on stack overflow i tried to install my template project in /Library/Application Support/Developer/Shared/Xcode/Project Templates But i cannot see my template when i create a new project.   I am a passionate software developer and greatly enjoy programming. However I was recently contacted regarding a developer lead position for a government job at NYC for the fire department. The pay is pretty good, and I would assume the position has good job security and stability. But I am hesitant to even go for an interview as it seems like an exaggerated version of Office Space with a lot of Bureaucracy and mindless paper work. The description is as follows: The Lead Applications Developer, supporting the Programming Group, will be responsible for all phases of the system development life cycle including performing system analysis, requirements definition, database design, preparation of scopes of work, and development of project plans. Supervise programming staff and manage projects involving the design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of complex Oracle based user applications using Oracle Development tools. Applications will be deployed using Oracle Application Server utilizing programming languages such as JAVA, JSF, JSP, Oracle ADF, PL/SQL, and XML with J2EE and EJB technology.
