  Hello, Hopefully my title was descriptive enough to attract the right help. I want to write a function that will return 1 thing, and modify a provided pointer in another. My current function declaration is . . . char * afterURL replaceURLS(char * body) What I want to do is copy all of body's data into a new string, and set body to point to this new data. I then want afterURL to point to a location within the new string. My issue is getting the actual pointer that is passed in to this function to point to the new data. Thanks in advance! Rob

  This is FIrst time i try to create Cocoa Touch Static Library and follow these steps. Create New Project with Cocoa Touch Static Library named it By default i got single class with Demo.h and Demo.m. 2.Create a public function in .h and implement it in .m. 3.Select iOS Device and press cmd + B. 4.Copy Demo.a from products and the .h file drop it in my iOS App where i want to use it. 5.Then Import Demo.h and try to call the function that i wrote. • TSQL - create a stored proc inside a transaction statement

  I have a sql script that is set to roll to production. I've wrapped the various projects into separate transactions. In each of the transactions we created stored procedures. I'm getting error messages Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 4 Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'procedure'. I created this example script to illustrate Begin Try Begin Transaction -- do a bunch of add/alter tables here -- do a bunch of data manipulation/population here -- create a stored proc create procedure dbo.test as begin select * from some_table end Commit End Try Begin Catch Rollback Declare @Msg nvarchar(max) Select @Msg=Error_Message(); RaisError('Error Occured: %s', 20, 101,@Msg) With Log; End Catch The error seems to imply that I can't create stored procs inside of transaction, but I'm not finding any docs that say otherwise(maybe google isn't being freindly today).

• Is the FoldLeft function available in R?

  Hi, I would like to know if there is an implementation of the foldLeft function (and foldRight?) in R. The language is supposed to be "rather" functional oriented and hence I think there should be something like this, but I could not find it in the documentation. To me, foldLeft function applies on a list and has the following signature: foldLeft[B](z : B)(f : (B, A) => B) : B It is supposed to return the following result: f(... (f(f(z, a0), a1) ...), an) if the list is [a0, a1, ..., an]. (I use the definition of the Scala List API) Does anybody know if such a function exists in R?

• Are function arguments stored in a closure?

  I was reading this great article about closures here and the example below outputs 'item3 undefined' three times. I understand why it outputs 'item3' three times as the functions inside buildList() all use the same single closure but why can't it access the 'list' argument? Why is it undefined?   I wrote a custom resolver class. It works OK for resolving SYSTEM DTDs, but not for resolving PUBLIC DTDs. When the class has to resolve PUBLIC DTDs instead of the URI of the resource, the function receives the public identifier through the absoluteUri parameter of the GetEntity function. Is there a solution to this. In examples: if I have a DTD declaration like <!DOCTYPE document SYSTEM "document.dtd"> then the custom resolver correctly receives the string "document.dtd" through the absoluteUri parameter of the GetEntity function. if I have a DTD declaration like <!DOCTYPE document PUBLIC "-//Organization//DTD Document 1.0//EN" "http://localhost/document.dtd"> then the custom resolver incorrectly receives the string "-//Organization//DTD Document 1.0//EN" instead of "scheme://host/document.dtd".

  Hi, I've gotten extremely interested into coding trainers (Program that modifies value of a different process) for video games. I've done the simple 'god-mode' and 'unlimited money' things, but I want to do alot more than that. (Simple editing using WriteProcessMemory) There are memory addresses of functions on the internet of the video game I'm working on, and one of functions is like "CreateCar" and I'm wanting to call that function from an external program. My question: How can I call a function from an external process in C/C++, provided the function address, using a process handle or other method. PS: If anyone could link me to tools (I've got debuggers, no need for more..) that help with this sort of thing, that'd be nice.

• trying to use PHP extract() within a function

  Hi, I have the two following files: main.php include("functions.php") __EXTRACT(); echo $testvar; functions.php function __EXTRACT(){ extract($_POST, EXTR_SKIP); } However, having a form with a textbox called testvar I can't get the extract function to extract the data.. if I remove the function call and insert it the extract statement directly into main.php it works. The include is not a problem as other functions in it works. Any ideas? Cheers

I'm new to rails but I've been searching for hours and can't seem to find anything to figure out the issue. Currently, I but a try finally block around everywhere, where I create an object, to free that object after usage (to avoid memory leaks). E.g.: aObject := TObject.Create; try aOBject.AProcedure(); ... finally aObject.Free; end; instead of: aObject := TObject.Create; aObject.AProcedure(); .. aObject.Free; To you think, it is good practice, or too much overhead? And what about the performance?

• Embedded Spotlight does not function in Outlook 2011

  I have a rather strange problem. I manage a network of about 35 Mac, and we all recently switched from Mail.app to Outlook 2011 (Please don't debate this, I've already had this conversation ad nauseum) We are using network home directories (NHD) server from a Windows file server over the SMB protocol. The problem I'm having is Spotlight does not function inside of Outlook. But ONLY inside of Outlook. The global Spotlight can find all email and contacts with Outlook, but the embedded Spotlight cannot. As a test, I took one of my users and switched them from a network home directory to a portable home directory (PHD) (this means the home folder was copied to the local hard drive). This resulted in a working Spotlight within Outlook, as soon as I switched the user back to an NHD, however, it stopped working. I have already tried erasing the Spotlight index and killing the process to force re-indexing. I have exhausted all Spotlight troubleshooting, and since the global is working that is obviously not the issue. I believe it has something to do with the Spotlight plugin Microsoft wrote that is located in /Library/Spotlight. Any ideas?

(Even i restarted the pc) When I go to the site1.com, It will say The connection has timed out Error Message. But I can browse via localhost/site1.com. I have been trying since last two days. No solution. And followed many articles and videos.

• Unable to create new virtual hosts using MAMP with OSX Mavericks

  I have been using virtual hosts on my Mac with MAMP, which has worked up until now. I have 2 working virtual hosts that i created in the same manner, which still work, but for some reason I am unable to create any new virtual hosts. When i attempt to go to a newly crated virtual host in my browser it generates a 404 Not Found error. The only thing i can think of possibly after i updated OSX to Mavericks, but i'm not sure what that would have done, or why the old virtual hosts still work. See excerpt below from vhosts.conf file. • Swapping Function (Fn) and Control (Ctrl) Keys on Lenovo ThinkPad W500

  I'd like to swap the Fn and Ctrl keys on my ThinkPad W500 (like many others! See: How can I switch the function and control keys on my laptop? and Intercepting the Fn key on laptops) Numerous folks indicate that Windows doesn't register the Fn key as a keypress but using Mihov ASCII Master 2.0, that gives the ASCII value of a keypress, I see the Fn key returning FF (perhaps FF in this case means 'not registered'). I also see that keys like Ctrl register with one ASCII code when pressed alone and another when pressed in combo with another key. Fn will only register when pressed alone, so Windows definitely isn't seeing the combo. This took a solution like AutoHotKey off the table. I ran KeyTweak (which shows you the hardware scan codes of a keypress and the Fn key registerd as 57443). Using this program I remapped Fn to the Ctrl key; this worked perfectly. However, I suspect that because of the issue in #1, the combo of, for example, Fn + C did not execute a copy. Short of retraining my pinky I'm actually considering removing the keyboard and resoldering the connections to swap those keys. I'd love to get some input as to the root technical issue(s) and possible solutions here.

  i'm trying to get custom language and message for nginx error page but keep url on browser.. not success for eg: i go to url : xaluan.com/aaa/bbb.html on the time server down.. nginx will show error 502. with the same url but custom message as my language. test 1. I created a custom page at /usr/local/nginx/html/205.html as following config but it show on web site when error is default nginx error at domain.com/50.html ( the content of webpage not same as i created) error_page 502 /502.html; location = /502.html { root /usr/local/nginx/html; } test 2.
