I need help for the HTTP DELETE method. I have browsed various websites where I found the example code snippets for GET and POST methods, but not for DELETE and PUT methods (why?). Can anyone give me an example code snippet (C#) for RESTful HTTP DELETE method and explain how to call the DELETE request?

  Hi there, I'm trying to run the following spec: describe UsersController, "GET friends" do it "should call current_user.friends" do user = mock_model(User) user.should_receive(:friends) UsersController.stub!(:current_user).and_return(user) get :friends end end My controller looks like this def friends @friends = current_user.friends respond_to do |format| format.html end end The problem is that I cannot stub the current_user method, as when I run the test, I get: Spec::Mocks::MockExpectationError in 'UsersController GET friends should call current _user.friends' Mock "User_1001" expected :friends with (any args) once, but received it 0 times[0m ./spec/controllers/users_controller_spec.rb:44: current_user is a method from Restful-authentication, which is included in this controller.   Hello, I'm using JNDIRealm with Tomcat for authentication, which at the moment works fine. However, we do not store any roles in the LDAP, so all authenticated users are not returning any roles. This sends user's to an HTTP 401 failed authorization page. I'd like to assign an "Admin" role to any and all user's who authenticate successfully. Here is my fragment from my web.xml file. SecurityConstraint Resource Resource *.jsp GET POST Admin FORM login.jsp loginError.jsp Admin Should I be using a JAASRealm with custom LoginModule? After the realm calls the authenticate() method and returns success, should I override another method to explicitly set the RolePrincipal to "Admin" so that authorization succeeds? Please help!   I regularly use an ellipsis as a bullet point in a list of items in Word/Outlook 2010. Example: I like summer because... ... it's warm out. ... we go on vacation. ... my birthday is in July. Currently in Word/Outlook if you type certain characters like a hyphen and hit space, it will automatically start a bulleted list using the hyphen. I would really like the same functionality with the ellipsis. When I type the third period and hit space, start a bulleted list. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Registry hack? Hidden Word Setting?

• WebView not responding when called from a method

  I have an app with tabbar and webview. I'm trying to make the app come back to default url each time user taps the bar. Right now I'm intercepting taps and launching a method, however it's not affecting my webview. The same syntax for calling webview from awakeFromNib works, so I don't have a clue what's up. I suspect it's something to do with how I call the method, but I don't know what. • Custom host file for Firefox

  Instead of changing my host file I'd like Firefox to think my domain is on my own server while my other browser uses the real IP address. I used to edit my host files but that forces both browsers to change the IP address. I found change host, but it doesn't appear to use the alternative host file. I also saw a comment asking when it will work on Firefox 6+. I tried Host Admin and it fails. It works but the alternative IP address must be in your host file already (which I don't want) and it lets you deselect a domain so the host file is ignored which is not what I want.

  I'm getting a NoMethodError when trying to access a method defined in one of my helper modules from one of my controller classes. My Rails application uses the helper class method with the :all symbol as shown below: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper :all . . end My understanding is that this should make all of my controller classes automatically include all of the helper modules within the app/helpers directory, therefore mixing in all of the methods into the controllers. Is this correct? If I explicitly include the helper module within the controller then everything works correctly.

There is of course 'cookieless' which puts it in the url, but that doesn't work for me either. So i'd like to override the session handling so I can specify where it should look for the sessionID.

  Hey folks, ok so this is my problem, I need to display HTML code in a jsp, which wouldn't be a problem, except a requirement for this project is that we place all the code in a public class file and have seperate methods for each chunk(header, sidebar footer, etc). Now here's where i'm confused: "Your method should take the PrintWriter as a parameter to print out each line of HTML, and should have a return type of void" What does that mean? How do I pass the PrintWriter into a method? Does this make sense to anyone?
