My first guess was that there's a Hardware problem of some sort and I asked my Hoster (it's a rented root server) to do a full hardwarecheck - they did, but couldn't find any problem. I don't know what and how they checked but their support team is usually quite good. I ran memtester and cpuburn myself and couldn't find any error either. Unfortunately I have no reliable way to reproduce these segfaults, they seem to be more or less random. On a hunch I disabled the firewall of the system and ran one of the programs that segfaulted regularily (imapsync) and it seemed to take longer to segfault than before, so the problem might be related to the network stack. Or could just be a random thing.   • Facebook iframe application redirects to local server

But when I try to access it using url like http://apps.facebook.com/myapp, it immediately redirects me to my lhttp://localhost:8080 application, which I intended to keep in frame. I assume that my local application should stay in frame, while the general container would be FB site itself, but something is wrong. Any hints?

    I'm using OpenGL ES 1.1 on the iPhone, and I'd like to use the following functions: glBlendFuncSeparate glBlendColor With their related constants. These didn't exist in early iPhone GL implementations, but according to this page: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/releasenotes/General/iPhone30APIDiffs/index.html they should be there in 3.0+, which I'm building for.     There seem to be several different categories of web frameworks, e.g. MVC, component based, event-driven, action-based, etc. I can't find a comprehensive list of categories and definitions anywhere. (I dare not ask for examples as well.) Is there a general taxonomy of web application frameworks somewhere, or is this too fuzzy a question to allow for definitive answers?

    I've a MySQL table that has a UTF-8 charset and upon attempting to insert to it via a PHP form, the database gives the following error: PDOStatement::execute(): SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1366 Incorrect string value: '\xE8' for column ... The character in question is 'è', yet I don't see why this should be a problem considering the database and table are set to UTF-8.

    I'm at the beginning/middle of a project that we chose to implement using GWT. Has anyone encountered any major pitfalls in using GWT (and GWT-EXT) that were unable to be overcome? How about from a performance perspective?     Is there any way to speed up the Add Reference dialog? For example, has anyone found any way to open it by default in the Recent or Browse tabs (which is what I use 90% of the time), to avoid the other tabs' slowness?     Are there any Informix-specific guides for optimizing any operating system where an ifx engine is running? For example, in Linux, strip-down to a bare minimum all unecessary binaries, daemons, utilities, tune kernel parameters, optimize raw and cooked devices (hdparm). Someday, maybe, informix can create its own proprietary PICK-like O/S. The general idea is for the OS where ifx sits on have the smallest footprint, lowest overhead impact on ifx and provide optimized ifx performance.
