• Is an average RAM usage per Apache process of 43 MB "normal" for a Social Networking site? [closed]

  I have a Social Networking site that runs on a single LAMP Server that handles everything. The average RAM usage per Apache process is 43 MB. Is that amount roughly within the expected range for a Social Networking site, or is it too high? If it's too high, where and how can I look to bring that average number down? (If you need more details to determine whether it's within the expected range or not, just let me know and I'll edit my question to provide them as best I can.)

I need also to manage developer access to projects (I think I should use gitolite for this). How can I do that? I am used to SVN which is easy because you can set username and password for each developer, which can easily access the repository without having the generate an ssh key and put it on the server. I'm aware that we could VNC or RDP into the virtual machine but the problem is if the VM is not running or is suspend the end user can't start it and IT needs to get involved. I guess what I'm looking for is something like VMconnect.exe that runs on xp or linux. Or, If I am totally barking up the wrong tree let me know. ;-)

  By LOCKING the cells, and switching protection on will make whole file read-only .. But I want to make only few/selected cells as read-only .. that means, those cells cannot be edited anymore ..
