  I have this Rails app, with domain name abc.com. I am also having a separate subdomain for Piwik stats, in this subdomain stats.abc.com. Googlebot somehow listed some of the links with my subdomain too. http://abc.com/login http://stats.abc.com/login http://abc.com/signup http://stats.abc.com/signup The ones with stats will reference to the same page in the app, but are treated entirely different website. I have put in robots.txt in stats after this matter, but wondering if there is any appropriate way to block this because I may have new subdomains in future.   Hello, I have any array $num_list = array(42=>'0',44=>'0',46=>'0',48=>'0',50=>'0',52=>'0',54=>'0',56=>'0',58=>'0',60=>'0'); and I want to change specific values as I go through a loop while(list($pq, $oin) = mysql_fetch_row($result2)) { $num_list[$oin] = $pq; } So I want to change like 58 to 403 rather then 0. However I always end up getting just the last change and non of the earlier ones. So it always ends up being something like 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,403 rather then 14,19,0,24,603,249,0,0,0,403 How can I do this so it doesn't overwrite it? Thanks

• Where can I find a free, easy to implement spellcheck component for .NET?

  This may be a tall order, but I'd like to find a spellchecker component that is easy to implement (I only need to spellcheck one TextBox). I've looked around and cannot seem to find anything that doesn't cost a fortune, or isn't overly complicated to implement. I did find a wrapper for NHunspell, but couldn't get it to actually display the spellcheck box for whatever reason. ComponentOne's spellcheck control is absolutely excellent, but of course, costs an absolute fortune since you can't buy just that component, you have to buy the whole suite. All the other ones I've found seem to be the same way. I liked the ComponentOne version the best because all you had to do way reference it, initialize, and when you called it you simply told it which control to check. It was lovely. Suggestions?

EDIT: I know that technically all these snippets are just javascript scripts that gets evaluated by the browser as if they were defined in the page. I also know that many browsers have got extensions to let you run javascript code (also letting you store scripts somewhere, providing a good editor etc etc). However that's not so practical; I'm not a javascript developer, haven't got firebug installed, and I can't install it anywhere I go. My idea idea is that of collecting the best "mini-scripts" that whoever can just copy and paste in his browser without the need of installing extensions and stuff.

• Deploying a .Net App Source Control (SVN) over 32-bit AND 64-bit dev stations

  Here is the situation : Our Dev Team has heterogeneous OS systems, scattered between 32-bit and 64-bit. This is not ideal, we are actually planning to homogenize our infrastructure, but in the meantime we have to deal with it. The issue is that when a 32-bit developer checks out a 64-bit solution on SVN, he has to manually change the target platforms all over again to get it compiled (not to mention other side problems) My question is : What clean (though temporary) solution could be addressed in such situation, permitting each developer to keep his default project/platform settings while checking out and in from SVN. I guess that -at least for the first time a project/solution is checked out, a dev still has to tweak the setting manually to compile it properly. After that, according to relevant SVN filters, it is possible to ignore some settings files (which ones, by the way?) I am open to all clever and detailed suggestions. Thanks.

One goal is for example to provide http request routing, so they are automatically sent to appropriate controllers. From architectural point of view, web framework based on MVC pattern are more suitable for REST. What other features of web frameworks are helpful by building apps satisfying the REST constraints? Is there any reason why you consider certain languages(python/java) or web frameworks(django/turbogears/jersey/restlets/...) as the most applicable ones?

  Hi I want to mass create some users and I want to set the users timezone automatically. However I am using timezones generated by this Dictionary<string, TimeZoneInfo> storeZoneName = TimeZoneInfo.GetSystemTimeZones().ToDictionary(z => z.DisplayName); So I need the names to be exactly like the ones this list returns. So can I put like a constraint on that xml node that the name has to exactly match one of the names. So I am guessing I will need to write this list somewhere in the file and that's what I am not sure if you can do something like that in a schema.

• How to tell the MinGW linker not to export all symbols?

  Hello, I'm building a Windows dynamic library using the MinGW toolchain. To build this library I'm statically linking to other 2 which offer an API and I have a .def file where I wrote the only symbol I want to be exported in my library. The problem is that GCC is exporting all of the symbols including the ones from the libraries I'm linking to. Is there anyway to tell the linker just to export the symbols in the def file? I know there is the option --export-all-symbols but there seems not to be the opposite to it. Right now the last line of the build script has this structure: g++ -shared CXXFLAGS DEFINES INCLUDES -o library.dll library.cpp DEF_FILE \ OBJECT_FILES LIBS -Wl,--enable-stdcall-fixup EDIT: In the docs about the linker it says that --export-all-symbols is the default behavior and that it's disabled when you don't use that option explicitly if you provide a def file, except when it doesn't; the symbols in 3rd party libs are being exported anyway. EDIT: Adding the option --exclude-libs LIBS doesn't keep their symbols from being exported either.

• Do I have to use Stored Procedures to get query level security or can I still do this with Dynamic S

  I'm developing an application where I'm concerned about locking down access to the database. I know I can develop stored procedures (and with proper parameter checking) limit a database user to an exact set of queries to execute. It's imperative that no other queries other then the ones I created in the stored procedures be allowed to execute under that user. Ideally even if a hacker gained access to the database connection (which only accepts connections from certain computers) they would only be able to execute the predefined stored procedures. Must I choose stored procedures for this or can I use Dynamic Sql with these fine grain permissions?

• How to retrieve column total when rows are paginated?

  Hey guys I have a column "price" in a table and I used a pagination script to generate the data displayed. Now the pagination is working perfectly however I am trying to have a final row in my HTML table to show the total of all the price. So I wrote a script to do just that with a foreach loop and it sort of works where it does give me the total of all the price summed up together however it is the sum of all the rows, even the ones that are on following pages. How can I retrieve just the sum of the rows displayed within the pagination? Thank you! Here is the query.. • How can I "override" deepcopy in Python?

  Hi there, I'd like to override __deepcopy__ for a given SQLAlchemy-mapped class such that it ignores any SQLA attributes but deepcopies everything else that's part of the class. I'm not particularly familiar with overriding any of Python's built-in objects in particular but I've got some idea as to what I want. Let's just make a very simple class User that's mapped using SQLA. class User(object): def __init__(self, user_id, name): self.user_id = user_id self.name = name I've used dir() to see, before and after mapping, what SQLAlchemy-specific attributes there are and I've found _sa_class_manager and _sa_instance_state. Provided those are the only ones how would I ignore that when defining __deepcopy__? Also, are there any attributes the SQLA injects into the mapped object? (I asked this in a previous question (as an edit a few days after I selected an answer to the main question, though) but I think I missed the train there. Apologies for that.)

• Same Activity called twice... Issue with Multiple AsyncTasks?

  I have three simultaneous instances of an AsyncTask for download three files. When two particular ones finish, at the end of onPostExecute() I check a flag set by each, and if both are true, I call startActivity() for the next Activity. I am currently seeing the activity called twice, or something that resembles this type of behavior. Since the screen does that 'swipe left' kind of transition to the next activity, it sometimes does it twice (and when I hit back, it goes back to the same activity). It's obvious two versions of the activity that SHOULD only get called once are being put on the Activity stack. Could this be from both onPostExecute()s executing simultaneously and both checking the flags each other set at the exact same time? This seems extremely unlikely since two processes would have to be running line-by-line in parallel... *EDIT* A lot removed from this question since I was way off in what I thought was wrong. Nonetheless I found the answer here quite useful, so I have edited the question to reflect the useful parts.

  I have a table called expenses. There are numerous columns but the ones involved in my php page are date, spplierinv, amount. I have created a page that lists all the expenses in a given month and totals it at the end. However, each row has a value, but many rows might be on the same supplier invoice.This means adding each row with the same supplierinv to get a total as per my bank statement. Is there anyway I can get a total for the rows based on the supplierinv. I mean say I have 10 rows. 5 on supplierinv 4, two on supplierinv 5 and 3 on supplierinv 12, how can a get 3 figures (inv 4, 5 and 12) and the grand total at the bottom. Many thanks

With autoconf I can determine whether shared_ptr is available as std::tr1::shared_ptr and/or boost::shared_ptr. Given that the same feature has two different names, I have the following questions: In the code, how should shared_ptr be referenced? Should std::tr1::shared_ptr be preferred over boost::shared_ptr? For the first, the code is currently using preprocessor conditionals allowing non-qualified references to shared_ptr, a la #if HAVE_STD_TR1_SHARED_PTR using std::tr1::shared_ptr; #elif HAVE_BOOST_SHARED_PTR using boost::shared_ptr; #else #error "No definition for shared_ptr found" #endif Second, the code uses std::tr1:: over boost:: to minimize dependencies on external libraries (even if the the libraries are widely used). • dynamic searchable fields, best practice?

  I have a Lexicon model, and I want user to be able to create dynamic feature to every lexicon. And I have a complicate search interface that let user search on every single feature (including the dynamic ones) belonged to Lexicon model. I could have used a serialized text field to save all the dynamic information if they are not for searching. In case I want to let user search on all fields, I have created a DynamicField Model to hold all dynamically created features. But imagine I have 1,000,000,000 lexicon, and if one create a dynamic feature for every lexicon, this will result creating 1,000,000,000 rows in DynamicField model. So the sql search function will become quite inefficient while a lot of dynamic features created. Is there a better solution for this situation? Which way should I take? searching for a better db design for dynamic fields try to tuning mysql(add cache fields, add index ...) with current db design

• Can I automatically overwrite repository files using svn_load_dirs.pl or similiar?

  I am working with a legacy VSS repository which was transferred over to a new SVN repository a few months ago. In the meantime, before we go live with the SVN repository, we need to bring over all the changes that have happened on the VSS one between then and now. I was looking at different ways to do this which seem to be things such as: 1.) svn_load_dirs.pl then merge the files manually? 2.) svn import straight into the trunk and merge files manually 3.) checkout a working copy of my SVN repository, copy in the changed files which will overwrite some of the ones in my working copy then commit the changes. My question is, can any of these options be used (or any other options) to automate things so that I don't have to merge the files, and can instead just overwrite them? I think only Option 3 would do this but any help is appreciated.

Not just those that are not expired yet. Can anyone help me? Thanks Oh, changing < to > returns no pastes, not even the non-expired ones :(

  I have this file "file.txt" which I want to split into many smaller ones. Each line of the file has an id field which looks like "id:1" for a line belonging to id 1. For each id in the file, I like to create a file named idid.txt and put all lines that belong to this id in that file. My brute force bash script solution reads as follows. count=1 while [ $count -lt 19945 ] do cat file.txt | grep "id:$count " >> ./sets/id$count.txt count='expr $count + 1' done Now this is very inefficient as I have do read through the file about 20.000 times. Is there a way to do the same operation with only one pass through the file? - What I'm probably asking for is a way to use the value that matches for a regular expression to name the associated output file.

  The use case to model is the register of a new appointment. The user logins in the system as a patient (role). To make an appointment shoudl enter medical specialty and date. System shoudl look for the doctors availables for that specialty on that date. From the results patient should choose one and then system save the appointment. At the end user shoudl receive an email with the information of the appointment.   PreReq: User logs in and is given roles got from the database using a custom implementation of userService. i.e. authentication-provider user-service-ref="securityPolicyService" The implemented method loadUserByUsername gets called and the roles are load for the user for the particular club they are logging into, Default one is loaded first time in. The user then click on a different club from the UI and I call a method on a service that gets the new list of authorities for this club. On webkit, the browser renders the first paragraph correctly but fails back to browser default settings on the last two. • Handover document for complete systems

  Hi, I need to create a handover document for a fairly large system consisting of all the stuff you'd expect from a telecom deployment: many servers, database clusters which copy some data between them in specific ways, tons of log files, both off-the-shelf and locally developed software, scripts, network configurations, local know-how, etc. It's really got as many sysadmin-typical elements, as development ones. The target of this document are in the first place sysadmins who take over the day-to-day operation tasks and some problem resolving, and in the second place people who want to learn about the system in general. Is there some place I can learn about how to write something like that? It could just as easily be a 10 page "what's where", as a 500 pages book about "all things telephony". Maybe it should be more than one document really. Please link some useful resources / books I could use for this task. PS: this is intended to be internal only, customer interactions etc. are out of scope here
