• Customizing Number of Page Links Rendered With will_paginate?

  I'm using the will_paginate gem for my Rails project and it's working beautifully. Unfortunately, on paginated result sets with a larger number of pages, the link section is too wide. Instead of: « Previous 1 2 … 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 … 18 19 Next » I would like to show: « Previous 1 2 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 18 19 Next » How can I reduce the number of page links being rendered? I looked at the will_paginate docs on github but couldn't find a solution. Thanks! Moe

  Hi I have one asp.net application, which has some problems while i am entering the special characters such as ": &#, " in the search box. If i enter this text in search box, i got the exception like this. A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (txtValue=": &#, "). then i searched on the net, i got one general solution for this that to set the validaterequest to false. But no changes has been made on my application. Please help me for solving this issue. Any response that would be appreciated.

• Problem with auto page break in iReport

  Hi... I'm using iReport 3.7. I have a report with two subreports (order details and some selling statistics), and a grouping by seller. One subreport is located in the Detail band of the group, and the other one is in the group footer. What's really odd is that no matter how long the report is, when I export it to PDF it's always one page long. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

  I am building my web application on my laptop but when I navigate the page on my desktop pc the layout of the div are distorted. I think the solution is giving percentage instead of absolute numbers like 240px to height and width of divs. What do you think ? Do you have another recommendations ? Thanks in advance. • Programmatically modifying an embedded resource before registering/referencing it on the page

  Hi All, Firstly, "Modifying" may be the wrong term, I see a few people have posted online just asking whether they can actually modify an embedded resource. What I am wanting to to, is use a resource in my assembly as a kind of template which I would do a find and replace on before registering it on the page - is this possible? For example; say I have a few lines of jQuery as an embedded resource in my assembly and in this script I am referencing a CSS class name that can be set by the front-end programmer. Since I do not know what the CSS class will be until implementation, is there a way of going through the embedded resource and replacing, say, $myclass$ with ThisClassName. Any help would be appreciated, if it's not possible then at least tell me so I can stop chasing my tail. Cheers, James

• Linux: page faults and network filesystems

  If a Linux system runs out of physical memory, does it drop inactive executable code pages? I assume the answer is yes, since there is no reason to keep them in swap, so they are simply discarded and re-loaded if necessary (as far as I know, that's what FreeBSD does). If the above is true for Linux, my question is, how does it handle executables run from network filesystems (e.g. NFS)? Does it go and fetch executable pages over the network if there is a page fault?

• jQuery Dialog causing buttons not to post-back

  I'm using the jQuery UI Dialog() function on an ASP.NET webform, on a particular panel. After Dialog() is applied, the buttons become useless and will not post back at all; I'm not even getting a Page_Load event firing, let alone any button events. Is the Dialog function messing with my button events? If so, is there a way to fix this?

I'd like to approach my next ASP.NET MVC project with this in mind. Can anyone suggest any principles, patterns or practices* I should consider? Excellent book, btw.   Hi everybody, how can i load a working iframe app (tested via http://apps.facebook.com/my-app-name) into an application tab on the profile page of my own fanpage. I got the tab, but didn't see anything in the tab. first time i called the tab i got a couple of errors. But now I just see nothing. In sourcecode some css definitions are included.   Okay. I have a form - textarea (named "su") and submit button. When the form is submitted, I need to run a PHP script without refreshing/leaving page "echo" or somehow print a return on the screen I'm pretty sure this works via some kind of ajax request thing. but I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm not big on ajax or javascript, but this is a function i use very frequently and I'd like to learn how it works so I can implement it when i need to now and in the future. • Rails prettyPhoto does not show photo with jquery (instead redirect to photo page)

  i do all instruction for use prettyPhoto in https://github.com/hiq5/prettyphoto-rails. and i do this to show a single photo( not gallery ) =link_to image_tag(photo.photo_url(:thumb).to_s, :alt => photo.name ,:class => "img-polaroid"), photo.photo_url, :rel => 'prettyPhoto' but still redirect to photo url and show photo, and doesn't use jQuery to show it on the current page. i check it with chrome development tools, there isn't any error. i use haml to generate views (instead erb), and carrierwave to upload photos. by the way I use twitter bootstrap. any help is appreciated.

  Hi there, I'm using dojo for our UI's, and would like to load certain part of page contents in sequence. For example, for a certain stock, I'd like to load stock general information, such as ticker, company name, key stats, etc. and a grid with the last 30 days open/close prices. Different contents will be fetched from the server separately. Now, I'd like first load the grid so the user can have something to look at, then, say, start loading of key stats which is a large data set takes longer time to load. How do I do this. I tried: dojo.addOnLoad(function() { startGrid(); //mock grid startup function which works fine getKeyStats(); //mock key stat getter function also works fine }); But dojo is loading getKeyStats(), then startGrid() here for some reason, and sequence doesn't seem be matter here. • Passenger apache default page error

  Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question. I asked it a couple of days ago on Server Fault but am getting no love. (It is sort of related to rails development...) The Question I just installed Passenger and the Passenger Pref Pane on OSX. However, when I try to browse to one of my Rails applications I just get the default Apache "it works!" page. I've checked the vhost definitions and they seem ok so I can't seem to figure out whats wrong... I've tried reinstalling passenger and the pref pane and restarting apache but to no avail. Anyone know how to fix this? My vhost definition looks like this: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName boilinghot.local DocumentRoot "/Users/ganesh/Code/boilinghot/public" RailsEnv development <Directory "/Users/ganesh/Code/boilinghot/public"> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost>

  Hi there, I'm installing some tracking code into the checkout_success.php page. I need to be able to grab the coupon code/discount code name from the order, if one was used so that I can echo it out in my tracking script. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this? I'm using this contribution of discount coupons; ot_discount_coupons.php, August 4, 2006, author: Kristen G. Thorson, ot_discount_coupon_codes version 3.0 It seems that the coupon code is not actually stored in the order_totals, but in a seperate discount_coupons_to_orders table. is there a query i can do on this table to find the matching coupon code used for this order? i tried the following but it return nothing; $coupon_query = tep_db_query("select coupons_id from discount_coupons_to_orders where orders_id = '".(int)$orders['orders_id']."' • problems with user control page

  I am starting to give up troubleshooting this issue I had... I had an .ascx page and had the following user control in it: <td> <Club:DatePicker ID="dp1" runat="server" /> </td> however in my code behind when I tried to write methods: public System.DateTime startDateTime { get { return dp1.SelectedDate.Add(tp1.SelectedTime.TimeOfDay); } set { dp1.SelectedDate = value; tp1.SelectedTime = value; } } It can't reference dp1(dp1 is underlined in red) as well as tp1... why is this?? I've tried to convert the solution to a web application and yet it doesn't work. • Add Flickr RSS feed to Page via SimplePie

  Hi all. I'm trying to add my recently uploaded flickr feed onto a site. I've followed tutorials with Simple Pie, but can't get what I desire. I need to be able dictate where each image will sit in multiple DIV's rather than just one repeated DIV. Here is a website which seems to do what I want.. wearecondiment.com It basically updates the Static URL inside each seperate DIV.. I cant find the PHP anywhere in there code. Here is the site I plan to add this feature to.. "http://www.openyourheart.org.uk" I'll make a new page and template of square DIVs where each photo will sit. The aim of it will basically be so that people can upload their own images to display in the campaign and automatically appear on the site. It would also be great if somehow the image could crop to the size of each square/rectangle. Any ideas? Cheers, Bradley

When I run this, firebug gets a 200 OK, but the data received is null. I've tried a lot of different approaches, like having the data in text (wish grants me "(an empty string)" instead of just "null") or returning string in the server method... • Using WebParts results in blank page

  Hi, I'm developing an ASP.NET (C#) application using EPiServer CMS 5. On the startpage we have four WebPart-zones and everything works great running it through Visual Studio. When publishing it to the production-server the startpage shows as a blank page, no error what so ever...
