    I have to communicate with an iPhone. I have its IP Address and the port (obtained via Bonjour). I need to send a header that is “0x50544833” (or similar, It’s an HEX number), then the size of the data (below) and then the data itself. The data is just a string that looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist SYSTEM "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>clientName</key> <string>XXX</string> <key>clientService</key> <string>0be397e7-21f4-4d3c-89d0-cdf179a7e14d</string> <key>registerCode</key> <string>0000</string> </dict> </plist> The requirement also says that I must send the data in little endian format (which I think is the default for Intel anyway). So it would be: hex_number + size of data + string_with_the_above_xml. I need to send that to the iPhone and read the response. What would be, according to your experience, the best way to send this data (and read the response)?

    I'm fetching data from iCloud and for that I need to generate a header (azure table storage). I used the code below for that and it is generating the headers. But when I use these headers in my project it is showing "make sure that the value of authorization header is formed correctly including the signature."     I have a WCF REST Starter Kit service. The type handled by the service is a subclass of a base class. For POST requests, the base class members are not correctly populated.     I need a div with a height of exactly 1em minus 1px. Is there a workaround for IE6 (maybe with multiple nested divs, with borders/paddings/margins/whatever), or will JavaScript be the only solution? Please note, that I can't use Quirks Mode.

  • C# ...extract email address from inside 100's of text files

    My SMTP server got 100's of errors when sending lots of emails. Now have lots of .BAD files each one containing an error message and somewhere in the middle, the actual email address it was supposed to be sent to. What is the easiest way to extract from each file "just" the "email address", so that I can have a list of the actual failed emails? I can code in C# and any suggestion will be truly welcomed.   • asmx web service returning xml instead of json in .net 4.0

    i have just upgraded a test copy of my site to asp.net 4.0 and have noticed a strange issue that only arises when i upload the site to my server. the site has an asmx web service that returns json, yet when i run the site on my server it returns xml. it as been working fine in asp.net 3.5 for over a year. the webMethod is decorated with the correct attributes... [WebMethod][ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public List<LocationRecentChange> RecentChanges() and on my local machine it returns json. yet on the server (Windows 2008 64bit) it returns xml. you can inspect the response on the test site here... my test site using firebug console you will see a 200 OK response and a bunch of XML, and on my local machine the data returned is the JSON i expect. Iam happy! Why not the same happens when i try to do from the browser (i tested in IE6 & Chrome) using javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").type="text" different browsers behave in different way... when i tried javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").value="myNewValue", IE6 changes the value, but chrome doesn't.. Why is this "javascript:" behaving like this ?

  • Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer data output is damaged

    I use Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer to generate .xls file and it works fine until I have to deal with a large amount of data. On certain stage it just writes some nonsense chars and quits filling certain columns. However some columns are field up to the end (generally numeric data) I'm not quite sure how the xls document is formed: row by row, or col by col... Also it is obviously not an error in a string, because when i cut out some data, the error appears a little bit further.     I have an ASP.NET web service which returns an XMLDocument. The web service is called from a Firefox extension using XMLHttpRequest. var serviceRequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); serviecRequest.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "text/xml; charset=utf-8"); I consume the result using responseXML. So far so good. But when I iterate through the XML I retrieve nodeValue - nodeValue is always null. When I check the nodeType the nodeType is type 1 (Node.ELEMENT_NODE == 1). Node.NodeValue states all nodes of type Element will return null. In my webservice I have created a string with the XML i.e. xml="Hank" I then create the XmlDocument XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.LoadXML(string); I know I can specify the nodetype using using CreateNode. But when I am just building the xml by appending string values is there a way to change the nodeType to Text so Node.nodeValue will be "content of the text node".

    I created a controller having an action: def gen_books_xml @books = Book.find(:all, :conditions => {:owner_id => 1}) respond_to do |format| format.xml { render :xml => @books.to_xml(:root => "Books", :skip_types=>true) } end end How could I implement the to_xml method in the Book model sa that it can generate the following format? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Books> <Owner>1</Owner> <Book><title>some title</title></Book> <Book><title>some title</title></Book> <Book><title>some title</title></Book> ... </Books> where there is only 1 Owner element and many Book elements I can only output the Book elements but cannot output the one Owner in the same level of Books.     I'm wondering if there is a robust and graceful way using linq2xml to query an item deep within an xml hierarchy. For example: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <data> <core id="01234"> <field1>some data</field1> <field2>more data</field2> <metadata> <response> <status code="0">Success</status> <content> <job>f1b5c3f8-e6b1-4ae4-905a-a7c5de3f13c6</job> <id>id of the content</id> </content> </response> </metadata> </core> </data> With this xml how do I query the value of without using something like this: var doc = XElement.Load("file.xml"); string id = (string)doc.Element("core") .Element("metadata") .Element("response") .Element("content") .Element("id"); I don't like the above approach because it is error prone (throws exception if any tag is missing in the hierarchy) and honestly ugly. Is there a more robust and graceful approach, perhaps using the sql-like syntax of linq?

Type 'get-config_output_type__' is element only, but its base type is not. If I put both elements mixed="true" I get another error: cos-nonambig: WC[##any] and "urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:netconf:base:1.0":data (or elements from their substitution group) violate "Unique Particle Attribution". During validation against this schema, ambiguity would be created for those two particles. I using the Eclipse to validate my schema, so what can I do?
