• Need help with dynamic programming problem

  I have the following problem : I am given a tree with N apples, for each apple I am given it's weight and height,I can pick apples up to a given height H,each time I pick an apple the height of every apple is increased with U(also given).I have to find out the maximum weight of apples I can pick. e.g: N=4 H=100 U=10 (height-eight) apple1: 91 10 apple2: 82 30 apple3: 93 5 apple4: 94 15 The answer is 45 : I first pick the apple with the weight of 15 then the one with the weight of 30. I would like to know if someone here could help me with giving me an hint on how I should approach this problem. Thank you.

  I'm sure I must be doing something wrong. But can't for the life of me figure out what is going on. I have a problem where it seems that the HttpWebRequest class in the framework is not correctly parsing the cookies from a web response.   I have a question, if i set a image height in css and try to get height/width i get different results in different browsers. Is there a way to get the same dimension in all browsers?   I am re-using Apple's AdvancedTableViewCells example to create a custom, fast-scrolling tableview. Specifically, I am using their CompositeSubviewBasedApplicationCell method which draws the content on the tableviewcell with drawRect Everything works, but how do you hide a label or set the tag for a label or image using their method? Doing it this way is pretty new to me (without IB), so I apologize ahead of time if it's something easy.   Hi, we have some dependency libraries in our repository. The main part is build with cmake. Now the cmake-makefiles shall build the dependency libraries, which do not have a cmake build system. For one specific library there is a "Makefile.squirrel" which should be used. • weird characters in HTML email

  Hi stackers! I'm reading email from a maildir and some emails have weird sets of characters in them: =3D =09 I think =3D is = and =09 is a space. There are some others, but I'm not sure: =E2 =80 =93 Does anyone know what these are and what encoding issues I'm dealing with here? BTW, I tried fetching these email via POP3 and it's the same thing. The reason I'm posting this on SO is not because I'm using a regular mail client to read the data. I'm reading via PHP out of maildir files. Perhaps a regular email client would detect what encoding this is and deal with it. Thanks!

  Hi, I have a header file in which there is a large struct. I need to read this structure using some program and make some operations on each member of the structure and write them back. • Debugging JavaScript in Internet Explorer

  I am working on a relatively complex JavaScript-driven website. It runs great in all browsers except Internet Explorer. I am getting this very curious error: "A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 93,865,600. Error: Expected ';'" The issue is, I don't have 93 million lines of code, and clicking "Yes" doesn't attach to Visual Studio like it normally does. I can click on 'No' and the website continues to run fine, but if a user doesn't have JavaScript debugging disabled, I don't want them to see this meaningless error. Suggestions/Tools/Plugins to get to the bottom of this? And yeah, I learned my lesson, switch over and check my project in Internet Explorer more often... Thanks,

  Hi, I am doing some trial testing awith Amazon ec2 boxes, deploying flex apps running on top of restlet powered webservices. I have this problem - Everytime i deploy the app to the cloud, I'm having to hardcode the IP address of the server into the ActionScript/MXML files (http://72.93.48.39:8080/xxx/abc/) and for certain reasons, i am forced to choose a different IP everytime. and i think its really not the right way to deploy the application. I would like to know what other people do in such scenarios? On thinking about it, i thought i could make it pickup values from the HTMLVars of the HTML wrapper. but that again has to be edited everytime again and again. will it be possible to be able to supply these values : server's ip address, server's port number(in case its not 8080 on some machine) at build time? if so can anyone give me a barbones sample build.xml just as an example?

• R ggplot barplot; Fill based on two separate variables

  A picture says more than a thousand words. As you can see, my fill is based on the variable variable. Within each bar there is however multiple data entities (black borders) since the discrete variable complexity make them unique. What I am trying to find is something that makes each section of the bar more distinguishable than the current look. Preferable would be if it was something like shading. • jQuery AJAX get request - cannot see returned data

  I think I am missing something obvious here, but I can't figure it out. I expect the following HTML to alert a response from the server. But, the alert is empty. I can see in Wireshark that the expected response is coming back to me from the server. • Unicode and URI encoding, decoding and escaping in JavaScript

  If you look at this table here, it has a list of escape sequences for Unicode characters that don't actually work for me. For example for "%96", which should be a –, I get an error when trying decode: decodeURIComponent("%96"); URIError: URI malformed If I attempt to encode "–" I actually get: encodeURIComponent("–"); "%E2%80%93" I searched through the internet and I saw this page, which mentions using escape and unescape with decodeURIComponent and encodeURIComponent respectively. This doesn't seem to help because %96 doesn't show up as "–" no matter what I try and this of course wouldn't work: decodeURIComponent(escape("%96)); "%96" Not very helpful. How can I get "%96" to be a "–" with JavaScript (without hardcoding a map for every single possible unicode character I may run into)?

• Getting Postfix to process the mail queue on Mac OS X

  I'm in the process of getting Sendmail/Postfix setup so that I can send and test my PHP scripts when using the mail() function. I've got to the point that when I run the mail() function in PHP, the script executes without any errors and the mail is sent to my mailq but it then does not get processed and simply times-out with a message of: Operation timed out.   Some where I have this in some generic class. public static String getRequestIp (HttpServletRequest request){ String ipaddr = request.getHeader("X-FORWARDED-FOR"); if (ipaddr == null)ipaddr = request.getRemoteAddr(); return ipaddr; } For every request i call that method and in a certain moment i insert a record in a mysql database. In most cases it works normally and i can see a record for every request with a valid ip address in the right field. But sometimes where the IP should be there is something like this. "unknown, 93.186.30.120" or "10.0.1.169, 186.38.84.3" Apache is at the front listening at port 80 and used as proxy to Tomcat that listens at port 8081. My router config would not allow to pass any conection that come by any port other than 80. Any Help? Thanks in advance.
