  I have been using open source projects for a while and been developing upon the open source applications and every so often I come across the words 'Nightly Build' and I have always been curious as to what it actually means. Does it literally mean the projects are done purely as side projects (usually at night after everyone has finished their day jobs) and there's no true contributor/dedicated development team or is it more complex than that?

• NUnit Random Module

  I've noticed something curious. When I attach the VS2010 debugger to the nunit.exe running process I see a loaded module with no path and a randomly generated filename. I tried attaching WinDBG to the exact same instance of NUnit.exe and the module is NOT listed in the module list. I also can't find anything with Google so I'm hoping someone here could help out.   I'm adding i18n to my website. For translated pages I add iso639 code of the language like this: http://example.com/en/mypage.php But I'm curious about language code. Should I use iso639-1 (en) or iso639-2 (eng) code ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_639#Relations_between_the_parts When I check, I see that most of the websites including Wikipedia, uses 2 character language code ? What is the standart or most widely used option for language codes ?

  Stackexchange uses imgur link to show the image to their website, but how do I do this? I am really curious on what ways I can upload an image to a file and show it immediatly again. Like webshops where you can post your products are also uploading images to show them immediatly.   I had planned to study and apply unit testing to my code, but after talking with my colleagues, some of them suggested to me that it's not necessary and it has a very little benefit. They also claim that only a few companies actually do unit testing with production software. I am curious how people have applied unit testing at work and what benefits they are getting from using them, e.g., better code quality, reduced development time in the long term, etc.

• Existent js libs for tileset / map loading and rendering?

The map is so large that I'd very much like to be able to load and render the board and layered items in a Google Maps'esque. I'm curious as to whether there are existing libs that would be helpful and already well thought out in these regards vs trying to reinvent the wheel.   In Mercurial I can do this with the bundled Purge Extension and executing the following command: hg purge Also good to get rid of ignored files: hg purge --all I'm curious about the most practical/used equivalent solution in git. Edit: I want to just get rid of the untracked files, not reset everything (e.g. suppose I have a program generating cache files or generated code and I want to delete them with git's help)

• What is juju doing when my deployment is "pending"? It seems to take awhile without much happening

  After deploying a charm, either locally or not, juju status lists "Pending". It seems to sit in this state for awhile, longer in my experience in the cloud, a bit shorter locally. What is juju doing during this time? For local instances it's a couple minutes or less, longer with cloud instances, up to 10 minutes in some cases. I am just curious if deploy's stay pending when the VM is being setup or is something else going on?

• What ever happened to WinFS? (2 replies)

  Will we ever see anything of WinFS? I was skeptical back in 2004 when it was announced but i'm still very curious and in wait to hear more about plans for this unique storage system. I've noticed that SQL server 2008 r2 has benifited from some of the ideas and technology. I hope someone will post.
