  • Questions related to mantis:

    - by Komal Matkar
    We are interested in installing Mantis but we have some doubts Please clarify as early as possible if you can so that we can go for further process. 1) We have one team at USA (Client’s place) and one is at India. In which server we should install the Mantis. If we are installing at USA will it run slow in India? 2) What about technical Support. You may take technical support with payment. But how much support will be given free (As we have to discuss this with client). 3) As we have seen details in your website, you have given it supports oracle and sql database. But we wanted to know till which lowest version of oracle and sql it supports. Please send us minimum requirement. 4) What is the capacity of the database to store defects? Backup facility is available? If yes please tell us how should we take. Because we have big team and 5-6 applications so it should not give further problems. 5) Database support: Do you provide database support or database while installation? While installing all the prerequisite application will get installed or we need any application separately. 6)How many users can access at a time? Will it work slowly if more users are working at a time? Thanks Komal

  • A question about DOM parser used with Python

    - by fixxxer
    I'm using the following python code to search for a node in an XML file and changing the value of an attribute of one of it's children.Changes are happening correctly when the node is displayed using toxml().But, when it is written to a file, the attributes rearrange themselves(as seen in the Source and the Final XML below). Could anyone explain how and why this happen? Python code: #!/usr/bin/env python import xml from xml.dom.minidom import parse dom=parse("max.xml") #print "Please enter the store name:" for sku in dom.getElementsByTagName("node"): if sku.getAttribute("name") == "store": sku.childNodes[1].childNodes[5].setAttribute("value","Delhi,India") print sku.toxml() xml.dom.ext.PrettyPrint(dom, open("new.xml", "w")) a part of the Source XML: <node name='store' node_id='515' module='mpx.lib.node.simple_value.SimpleValue' config_builder='' inherant='false' description='Configurable Value'> <match> <property name='1' value='point'/> <property name='2' value='0'/> <property name='val' value='Store# 09204 Staten Island, NY'/> <property name='3' value='str'/> </match> </node> Final XML : <node config_builder="" description="Configurable Value" inherant="false" module="mpx.lib.node.simple_value.SimpleValue" name="store" node_id="515"> <match> <property name="1" value="point"/> <property name="2" value="0"/> <property name="val" value="Delhi,India"/> <property name="3" value="str"/> </match> </node>

  • How to improve performance of map that loads new overlay images

    - by anthonysomerset
    I have inherited a website to maintain that uses a html map overlaying a real map to link specific countries to specific pages. previously it loaded the default map image, then with some javascript it would change the image src to an image with that particular country in a different colour on mouseover and reset the image source back to the original image on mouse out to make maintenance (adding new countries) easier i made the initial map a background image by utilising some CSS for the div tag, and then created new images for each country which only had that countries hightlight so that the images remain fairly small. this works great but theres one issue which is particularly noticeable on slower internet connections when you hover over a country if you dont have the image file in your browser cache or downloaded it wont load the image unless you hover over another country and then back onto the first country - i guess this is due to the image having to manually be downloaded on first hover. My question: is it possible to force the load of these extra images AFTER the page and all the other assets have finished loading so that this behaviour is all but eliminated? the html code for the MAP is as follows: <div class="gtmap"><img id="Image-Maps_6200909211657061" src="<?php echo cdnhttpsCheck(); ?>assets/wmap/a-guided-tours-map-blank.png" usemap="#Image-Maps_6200909211657061" alt="We offer Guided Motorcycle Tours all around the world" width="615" height="296" /> <map id="_Image-Maps_6200909211657061" name="Image-Maps_6200909211657061"> <area shape="poly" coords="511,134,532,107,542,113,520,141" href="/guided-motorcycle-tours-japan/" alt="Guided Japan Motorcycle Tours" title="Japan" onmouseover="if(document.images) document.getElementById('Image-Maps_6200909211657061').src='<?php echo cdnhttpsCheck(); • Using XSLT to Find Nodes Given a Set of Parameters

    - by davecardwell
    Sorry about the title—wasn’t sure how to word it. Basically I have some XML like this: <countries> <country handle="bangladesh"/> <country handle="india"/> <country handle="pakistan"/> </countries> And some XSLT like this (which doesn’t work): <xsl:template match="/countries"> <xsl:param name="popular"/> <xsl:apply-templates select="country[count($popular/country[@handle = current()/@handle]) &gt; 0]" /> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="/countries/country"> … </xsl:template> I want to pass in a list of popular destinations like this: <popular> <country handle="india"/> <country handle="pakistan"/> </popular> …to the /countries template and have it only operate on the ones in the $popular param. At the moment this simply does nothing. Changing the selector to country[true()] operates on them all, so at least I know the basic structure is right. Any ideas? I think I may be getting confused by what is currently “current()”.

  • getting webpage contents using curl_init not working for some links

    - by Manish
    I am using this code to get contents of a url entered:- class MetaTagParser { public $metadata; private $html; private $url; public function __construct($url) { $this->url=$url; $this->html= $this->file_get_contents_curl(); $this->set_title(); $this->set_meta_properties(); } public function file_get_contents_curl() { $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $this->url); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1); $data = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); return $data; } public function set_title() { $doc = new DOMDocument(); @$doc->loadHTML($this->html); $nodes = $doc->getElementsByTagName('title'); $this->metadata['title'] = $nodes->item(0)->nodeValue; } this class works for some pages but for some url like this one - http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_in-a-first-upa-govt-tweets-the-press_1745346 when I try to fetch data I get this error:-"Warning: get_meta_tags(http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_in-a-first-upa-govt-tweets-the-press_1745346): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed!   • Internet latency map

    - by David
    I would like to see a latency map, showing the lowest latencies achieved between various destinations around the world. What is for example the lowest latencies achieved between Denmark and India. This could for example be used for planning of where to place a server farm for online games.

  • Scrum Master Stephen Forte Teaches Agile Development, Silverlight and BI at GIDS 2010

    - by rajesh ahuja
    Great Indian Developer Summit 2010 – Gold Standard for India's Software Developer Ecosystem Bangalore, March 25, 2010: The author of several books on application and database development including Programming SQL Server 2008 and certified Scrum Master Stephen Forte is coming this summer to India's biggest summit for the developer ecosystem - Great Indian Developer Summit. At the summit, Stephen will conduct a workshop guaranteed to give attendees a jump start in taking a certified scrum master exam. Scrum, one of the most popular Agile project management and development methods, which is starting to be adopted at major corporations and on very large projects. After an introduction to the basics of Scrum like project planning and estimation, the Scrum Master, team, product owner and burn down, and of course the daily Scrum, Stephen will show many real world applications of the methodology drawn from his own experience as a Scrum Master. Negotiating with the business, estimation and team dynamics are all discussed as well as how to use Scrum in small organizations, large enterprise environments and consulting environments. Stephen will also discuss using Scrum with virtual teams and an off-shoring environment. He will then take a look at the tools we will use for Agile development, including planning poker, unit testing, and much more. On 20th April at the GIDS.NET Conference, Stephen will also conduct a series of sessions on Microsoft computing technologies. He will teach how to build data driven, n-tier Rich Internet Applications (RIA) with Silverlight 4.0. Line of business applications (LOB) in Silverlight 4.0 are easy by tapping the power of WCF RIA Services, the Silverlight Toolkit, and elevated out of browser support. Stephen's demo centric session will walk you through an example of building a LOB application with Silverlight 4.0. See how Silverlight and WCF RIA Services support domain logic, services, data binding, validation, server based paging, authentication, authorization and much more. Silverlight 4.0 means business. Silverlight runs C# and Visual Basic code, and so it seems natural that a business application might share some code between the Silverlight client and its ASP.NET Web server. You may want to run some code client-side for interactivity, but re-run that code on the server for security or reliability. This is possible, and there are several techniques you can use to accomplish this goal. In Stephen's second talk learn about the various techniques and their pros and cons. Some techniques work better in C#, others in VB. Still others are simpler with a little extra tooling or code-generation. Any serious Silverlight business application will almost certainly face this issue, and this session gets you going fast. In the third talk, Stephen will explain how to properly architect and deploy a BI application using a mix of some exciting new tools and some old familiar ones. He will start with a traditional relational transaction centric database (OLTP) and explore ways to build a data warehouse (OLAP), looking at the star and snowflake schemas. Next he will look at the process of extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) your OLTP data into your data warehouse. Different techniques for ETL will be described and the various tradeoffs will be discussed. Then he will look at using the warehouse for reporting, drill down, and data analysis in Microsoft Excel's PowerPivot 2010. The session will round off by showing how to properly build a cube and build a data analysis application on top of that cube, and conclude by looking at some tools to help with the data visualization process. • Is there anyway that I can set the 'real' memory usage value while running my java code?

    - by vira
    I'm running a code on a server to generate a 10,000x10,000 matrix and save each value into a table (MySQL). I was informed by the administrator that I can use up to 32g of the physical memory of our server but have no idea how to do it. I googling around and so far only found information about setting the virtual memory using -Xmx. I tried it anyway and using top command I got this: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 3981 gv 35 15 32.4g 304m 10m S 1 0.5 9:54.84 java So, it shows that the -Xmx set the VIRT and not the RES value. Is there anyway that I can set the RES value into 32g?

  • LLVM JIT segfaults. What am I doing wrong?

    - by bugspy.net
    It is probably something basic because I am just starting to learn LLVM.. The following creates a factorial function and tries to git and execute it (I know the generated func is correct because I was able to static compile and execute it). But I get segmentation fault upon execution of the function (in EE-runFunction(TheF, Args)) #include <iostream> #include "llvm/Module.h" #include "llvm/Function.h" #include "llvm/PassManager.h" #include "llvm/CallingConv.h" #include "llvm/Analysis/Verifier.h" #include "llvm/Assembly/PrintModulePass.h" #include "llvm/Support/IRBuilder.h" #include "llvm/Support/raw_ostream.h" #include "llvm/ExecutionEngine/JIT.h" #include "llvm/ExecutionEngine/GenericValue.h" using namespace llvm; Module* makeLLVMModule() { // Module Construction LLVMContext& ctx = getGlobalContext(); Module* mod = new Module("test", ctx); Constant* c = mod->getOrInsertFunction("fact64", /*ret type*/ IntegerType::get(ctx,64), IntegerType::get(ctx,64), /*varargs terminated with null*/ NULL); Function* fact64 = cast<Function>(c); fact64->setCallingConv(CallingConv::C); /* Arg names */ Function::arg_iterator args = fact64->arg_begin(); Value* x = args++; x->setName("x"); /* Body */ BasicBlock* block = BasicBlock::Create(ctx, "entry", fact64); BasicBlock* xLessThan2Block= BasicBlock::Create(ctx, "xlst2_block", fact64); BasicBlock* elseBlock = BasicBlock::Create(ctx, "else_block", fact64); IRBuilder<> builder(block); Value *One = ConstantInt::get(Type::getInt64Ty(ctx), 1); Value *Two = ConstantInt::get(Type::getInt64Ty(ctx), 2); Value* xLessThan2 = builder.CreateICmpULT(x, Two, "tmp"); //builder.CreateCondBr(xLessThan2, xLessThan2Block, cond_false_2); builder.CreateCondBr(xLessThan2, xLessThan2Block, elseBlock); /* Recursion */ builder.SetInsertPoint(elseBlock); Value* xMinus1 = builder.CreateSub(x, One, "tmp"); std::vector<Value*> args1; args1.push_back(xMinus1); Value* recur_1 = builder.CreateCall(fact64, args1.begin(), args1.end(), "tmp"); Value* retVal = builder.CreateBinOp(Instruction::Mul, x, recur_1, "tmp"); builder.CreateRet(retVal); /* x<2 */ builder.SetInsertPoint(xLessThan2Block); builder.CreateRet(One); return mod; } int main(int argc, char**argv) { long long x; if(argc > 1) x = atol(argv[1]); else x = 4; Module* Mod = makeLLVMModule(); verifyModule(*Mod, PrintMessageAction); PassManager PM; PM.add(createPrintModulePass(&outs())); PM.run(*Mod); // Now we going to create JIT ExecutionEngine *EE = EngineBuilder(Mod).create(); // Call the function with argument x: std::vector<GenericValue> Args(1); Args[0].IntVal = APInt(64, x); Function* TheF = cast<Function>(Mod->getFunction("fact64")) ; /* The following CRASHES.. */ GenericValue GV = EE->runFunction(TheF, Args); outs() << "Result: " << GV.IntVal << "\n"; delete Mod; return 0; }

  • python: os.system does not execute shell comand

    - by capoluca
    I need to execute shell command in python program (I have ubuntu). More specifically I want to create graph using graphviz in python script. My code is os.system("dot -Tpng graph.dot -o graph.png") It does not work, but if I just type dot -Tpng graph.dot -o graph.png in command line then everything is fine. Do you know what the problem? Thank you! Edit: Does not work means that nothing happens, there are no errors. • Resolution changes when using switch

    - by Edward D
    So, the "real" resolution of my monitor is 1024x768. That's what I'd use on my docked Windows laptop, and what I'd use on my Xubuntu desktop connected directly. When I connect a switch, to switch between the two, however, the ubuntu machine's resolution changes. Everything's still proportional, and it still thinks it's doing 1024x768, but the icons and fonts appear larger. Not 800x600 larger, but still big. When I used Xubuntu Precise, I created an xorg.conf file to set a resolution of 1280x1024 which made it look the way it does without the switch ... as a workaround. When I upgraded to Trusty, I lost this. I tried to re-create it, but doesn't seem to load my file. Ideally, I'd like to correct the original problem, but I'd settle for being able to up the resolution. I searched for a while, and tried to do it, but I'm giving up ... please help me out. • How do Programmers in the east see programmers in the west?

    - by Jon Hopkins
    The other half of this question: How do programmers in the west see the programmers in the east? I think it's just as interesting and important to see how programmers in the east view programmers in the west. The eastern part of the world (India/China/Philippines ) is often seen as mainly providing outsourcing services to the western world (USA and Europe). Do you have the experience of working as part of an offshore team? If yes, how was it? Do you hold any generalized ideas or opinions about the programmers from the West (e.g. Are they cooperative, do they deliver on time or do they do quality work?)

  • Software jobs after dropping out of masters degree

    - by Bampesh
    I am right now doing my masters in EE in the US, and have previously worked for a couple years in the telecom industry back home in India. I came here wanting to transfer to CS, but at my current university, with my GPA, that seems not very possible. I am not very interested in EE, so I am thinking of dropping out of the program. If I could demonstrate my abilities and experience, would software companies be willing to hire me in the US for my previous experience (with a half completed masters degree). Or would lack of the degree be a huge hindrance? Any suggestions? Thanks

  • When will UDS sponsorship final list be announced?

    - by Manish Sinha
    UDS-O is being held at Budapest, Hungary and the sponsorships are open which closes on 28th of March. My question is when will the final list be announced? Will there be more than one month period for people to apply for Visa? e.g. I live in India and when we apply for Schengen Visa for the first time, it takes around 2 weeks for the visa interview(period depends on the rush). Then another week for interview and Visa to be stamped. AFAIK the application, interview and collection has to be done in person. This is all what I have heard. So will Canonical give one month time minimum for people in Eastern part of the world or countries where Schengen countries have tougher rules for visa? It would be great if they could finalize the names a bit faster and announce the list by first week of April. I am hoping Jorge or Jono might come and answer this.

  • Database vs Networking

    - by user16258
    I have completed my diploma in (IT) and now pursuing degree, i am in last semester of my B.E(I.T). I want to do specialization either in Database(oracle) or in Networking(cisco). Which one of two will be in more demand in near future, i know it's all about interest but still i would like to know your opinion. Most of people say that a network engineer is never paid as better as a programmer or a DBA, and few says they do get paid well. What would be the scope if i clear my CCNA and CCNP exams, or either OCA & OCP exams, what would be more rewarding. Also i have read somewhere that most of the task of DBA will be automated so in future demand of a DBA will reduce. I would also like to hear from Network engineers what's the scenario out there in India. Thanks

  • How To Peel Garlic In Quick & Easy Way

    - by Gopinath
    Garlic is very common ingredient used in cooking in many parts of the world. In India it’s an undeniable ingredient in almost all the food items that are made using masala. So every cook of Indian kitchen knows the pain of peeling garlic. It’s a messy and time consuming process to peel of all the dead skin layers to get the tasty cloves. Cooking web site Saveur shows us as easy way to peel an entire garlic in less than 10 seconds using just two bowls.  No knifes, no scissor or any other instruments. Check the embedded video   I’ve not yet tried this trick at home, but looks like very easy one. What do you say? via Lifehacker (thanks vijay). cc image credit: flickr/lightlady
