    I'm planning making a game for AppStore, so I'm studying GLES. But, GLES 1.1 and 2.0 APIs are different about handling in some features.(and limitations) I have not enough time to consider both of them, I have to choosing one. 2.0 is clearly better in developer's view, but I'm worry about it's market share. I wish most users moved on newer SGX based hardware, but in fact, I don't know. Does anybody have information about location of those hardware ratio data in iPhone OS supported hardwares? (iPhone/iPod touch, per GPU) Please let me know.

    How do I sign an APK with more than one certificate, so that I can do this when I publish to the Android Market: Version 1.0 = Signed with Certificate A Version 2.0 = Signed with Certificate A & B Version 3.0 = Signed with Certificate B The Android Market does give me some hope but I am not sure what to make of it, when I upload with a different sign certificate it gives me this message: "The apk must be signed with at least one certificate in common with the previous version." Motive: I have published an app on the market using the Android Signing Tool as part of MotoDev Studio for android. The problem is that it handles the keys itself and there is no way (documented) to get them. I want to change it to use a keystore and certificate that I have more control of and can use even if I don't use MotoDev Studio anymore. Also it seems that MotoDev Studio will lock you out of new features such as shared libraries.

    Hey Guys! I’m back with the updates, it was an awesome Monday morning, for me it started when Sun came on my face, and the time was 5:30AM~~ I was amazed that this part of the country gets the sunrise quite early, but I ignored the sunlight for a while by covering my face, but…finally the door knocked….~ It was Mukesh, and the time was 6 AM, so I thought let’s get rid of laziness and start my day~ After having my brush and bath, I shaved and we headed for the Breakfast~ We quickly had our bread butter jam combo, and left for the Auditorium for Registration~ We searched for our names and signed the Registration paper and got a cool IIM C bag, with following in it: - a IIMC Notepad - Cello X Caliber pen - a book “What the Best MBAs Know”, and - Reading Material for Campus Sessions Today we had lectures on “Evolution of Indian Corporate Sector” (2 Session of 1.5 hrs each) and “Indian Economy: Crisis & Response” (2 Sessions of 1.5 hrs). “Evolution of Indian Corporate Sector” was by Prof. Raghabendra Chattopadhyay, was one of my best lectures I’ve ever attended in my life, he started with a question that saying that “The Indian Capitalists didn’t wanted the economy to open up till the economic reforms occurred?”, he is one of the best story tellers I’ve ever met, he started with the ancient European and Indian history and linked the trade & economics with it, simply amazing~ I can’t believe I didn’t get bore even after a 2hour long session…awesome~~ Afterward we had our lunch break, we did our lunch in “New Hostel” building and got back for “Indian Economy” sessions. Indian Economy session was taken by Sudip Chaudhuri, for us he’s a well known face as we have already attended his sessions on Macroeconomics~ It was an interactive, easy going, and a laughable session, and we did discussed some serious issues as well. After the class got over we went out and got few T-Shirts and Mugs for ourselves, and yep not to forget it “Rained” in Kolkata today~~ We got back and had our dinner and dispersed finally… I loved this amazing Monday, and hope the spirit continues till Saturday~ I’m feeling the enrichment in my thought and perceptions~ I’m lovin’ it~~ ram :)

  • Financial Market Developer dilemma...

    ...In the future I am planning to work in the financial sector as a programmer. I have a couple of options right now (1 or 2): Learn and master .NET since presumably that's widely used in that industry OR Learn the programming concepts, learn algorithms, learn a little bit of c,c++,c#,java,objective-c,sql,oracle,cobol - in other words learn the fundamental principles that tie all programming languages together without going too deep in any particular language. Someone has told me that most of the time as a programmer you won't be writing any code, but instead maintaing and existing code that people before you have built. Does that mean I don't really need to master any specific language and as long as I have general concepts it'll be good enough? If you or if you know someone who has worked in the financial industry as a software developer could you please share the experience and what is the daily routine consists of? Also what should I be learning right now while I am still young and in college? Do I have to thoroughly understand the market and the current economy? What about Oracle or SQL Databases - do I need to know them inside out as a programmer? Thanks if you have anything else to add that I have not mentioned then please do so! Thanks in advance!

    If you ask the question “What is the most fun activity?” to school or college kids, most of the kids would say “bunking classes”. Many of us are grown up bunking classes in the name of stomachache, relatives marriage, high fever, rain or some other reason. Here is a wonder kid who is an exception of regular school kids. Mohammed Omar, a 17 year Indian school boy, never skipped his classes for the past 14 years. His attendance records shows 100% for all the 14 years of school he attended so far and it’s an unbelievable track record. Omar lives in Kanpur, a suburban in Uttar Pradesh with parents and a younger brother. He attended school even when the area where he lives was once flooded, had high temperature. When flooded and motor vehicles were not able to run on the streets he loaned a bicycle from neighbors. When he was on high temperature he just popped a tablet and headed towards the school.  Whatever may be the adverse situation, he just found a way to attend school instead of bunking. He recently applied for Guinness Book of World Records. The determination of the boy is incredible and inspiration to many young. This site is most unsecure. now guess how !   Suppose my username is xyz and password is abc. How I can reset the password I simply go to website and in their site when I do reset my password he told me to fill password and password will not worked here.you can use here password here to reset my password. Remember that username are different then broadband username and password. Suppose if I want to reset your password I simply need to know your broadband username and I can reset it myself. I just logged in with my username and when I open the page for reset password I can fill your bb username and password will work here. I have not tried this. the broadband username can easily guess. this is depend on same way how people’s broandband username made. IS this Safe ? Nope, There are many thing on the site which make me feel that is 1900 century website. They still lived in popup life.  These site are nothing but a crap. not work most of time and when work it’s run too slowly.

  • I am confused between PHP and ASP.NET to choose as a career in Indian software development context

    I need your help(specially from the software professionals of India). I have completed MCA in 2009. After that instead of joining software company I did a Teaching job nearby by home. In the mean time I prepared myself for public sector jobs(bank). I continued my job for 1 year more and left it in 2010. Now in 2012 ,I feel that I should have done the software jobs,so that I could earn my bread and butter and in the mean time I could have prepared for the job.Because,according to my qualification it will give me the best salary. Now I want to go back in software industries. Now all of them are asking for experiences.And I don't have any.....So which language should I learn? And what should I do,because I have two year gap. Some of my friends suggested me to go with PHP as its easier and quicker to get job in India. But Here the PHP guys are getting less salary as compared to ASP.NET. I am planning to begin with PHP and but is it possible to switch to ASP.NET after two years experience. JAVA: I know upto servlet & JSP. Which is nothing in current market. ASP.NET: I know the basics of asp.net upto database connection ie(Gridview). PHP: Only the basics. So what should I do now. Which is most demanding. Does PHP is good, I feel its more like JSP pages. Please guide me, All your suggestions are needed for me.

    Hi guys I have a google apps account set up and even set up a simple hello world application from the available samples on the tutorial however I need to set it so I am able to interact with the google docs account associated with the account which has added my application. To interact with google docs I am aware that a token is requested from google upon authentication and verification of the account however that is in a situation where you code specifically for interacting with google docs - I'm talking about having access to the google docs of the account which has added my application so my application can be used to upload documents to the google docs and make references to them - basically my application is a resource management application and it needs to be able to store references to google docs.

  • How to handle application upgrades from free to paid version while preserving any data

    Here is the context. I want to have a free version and a premium version of the same application. When people buy the application, I want them to be able to "upgrade" without losing their data, i.e. the premium version should install over the free version. I want to use the same code base and just switch a setting to build the premium version. Andoid Market does not let me convert a free app to a paid app, so the trivial option is not available. I am curious if someone has tried this successfully. How does Android Market identify an application - will it think that the premium version is a different app and just install it in parallel?

From my exp: - Genom-e is quiet capable of Linq & performance, dev support - EF lacks on some key features like lazy loading, Poco support, pers.ignorance... but in 4.o it may have overcome .. - DataObjects.Net so far good, althrough I found some bugs - NHibernate steep learning curve, no 100% Linq support (like in Genom-e and DataObjects.Net), but very supportive, extensible and mature

    Without additional context, the answer is "no", I think. Here is the context. I want to have a free version and a premium version of the same application. When people buy the application, I want them to be able to "upgrade" without losing their data, i.e. the premium version should install over the free version.   • Android Certificate Changed?

    I recently formatted my computer and updated to Windows 7. I backed up my keystore and tried to sign my apk with it but it gave me an error that said my certificate expires in 22yrs. which is just shy of what the market requires to upload the apk. So now I am stuck not being able to update my app... How did this happen? Is there a way to extend the lifetime of certificates so that I can update my app? Is there a way to verify this certificate against an old apk that has been uploaded to the market so that I can be sure I am trying to sign with the same certificate and I didn't have a mix up?     I have an application that comes bundled with some content(say image, songs etc.). We want to have an in-app store, so that the user can buy contents and extend the experience. What are the different ways in which the above mentioned can be achieved? iPhone has Storekit framework that enables in-app purchases. So, our requirements wants us to follow the suit. Also, according to Android Markets(AM) distribution agreement, an Android application published via AM, is not allowed to accept payments from any Payment collectors other than the one Market provides and/or Google checkout. We have decided to integrate Paypal, now that they have published Mobile Payments Library to Android developers. If we do so, can we publish our application on Android Market?

    Hi, I've heard there are some precautions to take to develop a market in an application. I'm developing an application for a football club. I would like to integrate a kind of market to sell stadium seats. Someone told me Apple will refuse the application if I integrate it directly inside the app (using Obj-C, communicating with PHP pages). According to him, I should redirect the user to an external web page (using Safari app for example) to realize the transaction. Apple does not really communicate about that kind of information. Do you know anything about it ? Thanks for any help !

Our team is preparing to promote/market an event for a specific date and time, in order to try to grab a large group of people to the site at once. Car si la boutique en ligne de la firme à la Pomme domine toujours en volume de contenus (350.000 applications contre 250.000 pour son concurrent), celle de Google se développe beaucoup plus vite.
