  • Passing contextual info to Views in ASP.NET MVC

    I wonder - what is the best way to supply contextual (i.e. not related to any particular view, but to all views at the same time) info to a view (or to master page)? Consider the following scenario. Suppose we have an app that supports multiple UI languages. User can switch them via UI's widgets (something like tabs at the top of the page). Each language is rendered as a separate tab. Tab for the current language should not be rendered. To address these requirements I'm planning to have a javascript piece that will hide current's language tab on the client. To do this, I need current's language tab Id on the client. So, I need some way of passing the Id to master page (for it to be 'fused' into the js script). The best thing I can think of is that all my ViewModels should inherit some ViewModeBase that has a field to hold current language tab Id. Then, whatever View I'm rendering, this Id will always be available for the master page's hiding script. However, I'm concerned that this ViewModelBase can potentially grow in an uncontrolled fashion as number of such pieces of contextual info (like current language) will grow.. Any ideas?

  • passing info from facebook to UITabBarController

    When my app first start, it shows up a main page showing to login to facebook and then it goes to the UITabBarController. Every information that I need for this apps is queried in the MainViewController. The problem is that after getting this info and now I am in the UITabViewController... how do I get those information that I already queried facebook for? I have a class called UserInfo as well, which basically has everything essential I need. I need to have the info from UserInfo so that the other ViewController in the UITabBarController have access to it.... I hope my question makes sense

What I need to do is grab properties from this callout, ie. the title, but logging this line: NSLog(@"%@", mapView.selectedAnnotations); returns <AddressAnnotation: 0x1bdc60> which obviously gives me no useful info... My question is, how can I access the properties of a selected annotation callout?

  • webscraper grabbing images, but not entering info into database

    Hello, again. I'm having more issues with my script entering info into my database. The script below grabs a page, strips down the necessary info, then downloads the related image file. After that, it is supposed to enter the information gleaned from the URL into the database. For some reason, the script seems to iterate through the URLs, as I get downloaded images for each URL, but each URL's product is not entered into the database. The script will insert the first product's categories and product info, and then it just stops, and continues to download images.     I know of an Eclipse feature to show revision information (gradual coloring, more info like revisionnumber, date and author on mouseover) for the last changes in a line in the linenumbers-view. Does anyone know how to activate this feature for a file, or even better, by default? I accidently hit some shortcut lately which made it show in one file, it does not show up in the others, though.
