• Android broswer crushes on Ajax calls, when viewport meta tag is defined

  I am building a web app, which is intended to run on the Android browser. When I have a webpage that contains any kind of viewport meta tag, like this: <meta name="viewport" content="width=400"/> My webpage crushes on ajax calls. It happens when using the emulator, the actual browser on my nexus one, and on a droid (all running Android 2.1). Without the meta tag, the ajax calls run as they should. Any ideas?

  I am meta-analysing some studies and drawing a forest plot for my results. However I can`t seem to get the forest plot to display the title.   Hi, when building a jar-with-dependencies with the assembly plugin, I get many, many messages like this: META-INF/ already added, skipping It seems to mee, that maven is warning me, that I already have a META-INF in my to-be-created jar, and therefore the META-INF of the to-be-included dependant jar file is not included in my to-be-created jar. Well, this is exactly what I want, and I want to ged rid of those messages. Is there a way to achieve this? Regards, Martin.

• OS X Terminal: Meta key + alt functionality at the same time

  Is there a way to use "alt/option" key as a meta key but still be able to use the key to make some characters which need it? For example in my local keyboard layout: @ is alt-2 \ is alt-shift-7 | is alt-7 etc. So if I set alt as meta key, I can't make those characters. On the other hand using "press esc, release esc, press a key" to make meta key sequences makes my hands hurt. Any emacs users with international keyboards who have solved this, please give any tips you might have! :) edit: It appears that I can set alt as meta key and then add these kind of settings in inputrc: "\e2": "@" This works in bash shell but it still won't work with emacs though, so no good.

• How to pass a Context when using acts_as_taggable_on for assigning tags

  I am using acts_as_taggable_on for assigning 'fixed' categories as well as free' tags to a Company model. My question is how I can pass the correct tag Context for the two different kinds of tags in the form view. For instance, I would like the user to click all the "sector" categories that apply to a company, and then be freely allowed to add additional tags. At this point, the only way I have gotten this to work is through the company model (inspired by this question): # models/company.rb class Company ... acts_as_taggable_on :sectors, :tags has_many :sector_tags, :through => :taggings, :source => :tag, has_many :taggings, :as => :taggable, :include => :tag, :class_name => "ActsAsTaggableOn::Tagging", :conditions => { :taggable_type => "Company", :context => "sectors" } ... end in the form (using the simple_form gem) I have... # views/companies/_form.html.haml = simple_form_for @company do |f| = f.input :name = f.association :sector_tags, :as => :check_boxes, :hint => "Please click all that apply" = f.input :tag_list But this obviously causes the two tag types ("sectors" and "tags") to be of the same "sectors" context which is not what I want. Can anyone hint at how I can pass the relevant Context ("sectors") in the form where the user assigns the sector tags? Or maybe I can pass it in the "has_many :sector_tags ..." line in the Company model? A related question is if this is a good way to do it at all? Would I be better off just using a Category model for assigning sector tags through a joint model? Thanks!

  When one selects a Tag on stackoverflow, it is added to the end of the Url. Add a second Tag and it is add to the end of the Url after the first Tag, with a '+' delimiter. For example, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/ruby-on-rails+best-practices. How is this implemented? Is this a routing enhancement or some logic contained in the TagsController? Finally, how does one 'extract' these Tags for filtering (assuming that they are not in the params[] array)?

• Categories of tags

  I'm starting a pro bono project that is the web interface to the world's largest collection of lute music and it's a challenging collection from several points of view. The pieces are largely from 1400 to 1600, but they range from the mid-1200's to present day. Needless to say, there is tremendous variability in how the pieces are categorized and who they are attributed to. It is obvious that any sort of rigid, DB-enforced hierarchy isn't going to work with this collection, so my thoughts turn to tags. But not all tags are the same. I'll have tags that represent a person/role (composer, translator, entabulator, etc.), tags that represent the instrument(s) the piece in written for, and tags that represent how the piece has been classified by any one of half a dozen different classification systems used over the centuries. We will be using a semi-controlled tag vocabulary to prevent runaway tag proliferation (e.g. del.icio.us), but I want to treat the tags as belonging to different groups. People tags should not be offered when the editor is doing instrument tagging, etc. Has anyone done something like this? I have several ways I can think of to do it, but if there is an existing system that is well-done it would save me time implementing/debugging. FWIW: This is a Django system and I'm looking at starting with Django-tagging and then hacking from there, possibly adding a category field or ...

• TFS Folders - Getting them to work like Subversion "Trunk/Tags/Branches"

  I recently started using Team Foundation Server, and am having some trouble getting it to work the way I want it to. I've used Subversion for a couple years now, and love the way it works. I always set up three folders under each project, Trunk, Tags, and Branches. When I'm working on a project, all my code lives under a folder called "C:\dev\projectname". This "projectname" folder can be made to point to either trunk, or any of the branches or tags using Subversion (with the switch command). Now that I'm using TFS (my client's system), I'd like things to work the same way. I created a "Trunk" folder with my project in it, and mapped "Project/Trunk/Website" to "c:\dev\Website". Now, I want to make a release under the "tags" folder (located in "Project/Tags/Version 1.0/Website", and TFS is giving me the following error when I execute the branch command: "No appropriate mapping exists for $Project/tags/Version 1.0/Website" From what I can find on the internet, TFS expects you to have a mapping to your hard drive at the root of the project (the "Project" folder in my case), and then have all the source code that lives in trunk, tags and branches all pulled down to your hard drive. This sucks because it requires way too much stuff on your hard drive, and even worse, when you are working in a solution in Visual Studio, you won't be able to pull down "Version 2.0" and have all your project references to other projects work, because they'll all be pointing to "trunk" folders under the main folder, not just the main folder itself. What I want to do is have the root "Project/Website" folder on my hard drive, and be able to have it point to (mapped to) either tags, branches, or trunk, depending on what i'm doing, without having to screw around with fixing Visual Studio project references. Ideas?

I dont want to do this. I just want to replace the tags. Here is what I have so far.   I want to get more combos in Emacs, so I tried to bind Alt, Super, Hyper via modmap to keys. I failed at it. So I tried to use xdotool. I started emacs -Q for clean experiment. Pressed C-hC-c and executed in other terminal: xdotool key --window 119537875 "meta+x" xdotool key --window 119537875 "alt+x" Both commands resulted in M-x runs the command execute-extended-command. So, Emacs do not differ between Alt and Meta. How can I fix it?

  Code like on this page does not work in (my) Firefox 3.6 and also not in Fx4 (WinXPsp3) Works in IE8, Safari 5, Opera 11, Mozilla 1.7, Chrome 9 <meta http-equiv=refresh content="12; URL=meta2.htm"> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1; URL=http://fully_qualified_url.com/page2.html"> are completely ignored Not that I use such back-button killing things, but a LOT of sites do, possibly including my linux apache it seems when it wants to show a 503 error page... If I firebug or look at generated content, I do not see the refresh tag changed in any way so I am really curious what kind of plugin/addon could block me which is why I googled (in vain) for a known bug... In about:config I have accessibility.blockautorefresh; false so that is not it. I ran in safe mode and OH MY GOD, STACKEXCHANGE IS FULL OF ADS but no redirect

• Enable 8th bit as Meta in zsh without a warning

  In my quest to configure my shell to work exactly how I want it with respect to the alt/meta key I am having some trouble. Recently I added "bindkey -m" to my .zshrc and now whenever I start a zsh shell (ie open a terminal window) I get this error "warning: `bindkey -m' disables multibyte support". Now since I don't care much about multibyte support atm, is there a way I can disable just this warning? Even better would be a way to use 8th-bit meta as well as multibyte. Also note that this happens on a clean zsh install on 4.3.9 and 4.3.10 My reasoning for wanting bindkey -m vim: alt mappings (my own personal commands/mappings) zsh: alt mappings (such as Alt-. to recall the last argument of the previous command) emacs: alt mappings (lots of built-ins) So, is there any way to disable this warning or otherwise accomplish what I'm trying to do?

• Getting link to abstract indexed in Google Scholar

  We have a large digital library with thousands of papers indexed in Google Scholar. We allow Google Scholar to index our PDFs but they're blocked unless you have a subscription. So Google has full-text indexing/searching of our PDFs (great!) but then the links point just to those PDFs (boo!) instead of the more helpful abstract pages. Does anyone know what could cause an issue like this? I am, to the best of my knowledge, following all of the guidelines laid out in their Inclusion Guidelines.   I have a table of tags ID tag --- ------ 1 tagt 2 tagb 3 tagz 4 tagn In my items table, I'm using those tags in serialized format, comma delimited ID field1 tags ---- ------ ----- 1 value1 tagt,tagb 2 value2 tagb 3 value3 tagb,tagn 4 value4 When I need to find items that have this tag, I plan to deserialize the tags. But I'm not actually sure how to do it, and if it's better to have a third table for associations instead between the tags and the items.

• Defining pages by custom variable, reporting to Google Analytics

  Does anyone know how I could add some information to my page (whether in a meta tag or some other way) to indicate to Google Analytics that a page is targeted to a certain segment? This is pretty straightforward on my main site where everything is set up in hierarchy by target user so I can just use the URL to filter the data. • github repos cloning, but no tags/branches recreated??!!

  I've been cloning a few repos from github that, even though I know they have branches/tags, do not have them once I clone them onto my local drive. strage. I try to list the tags (git tag) but nothing comes up...
