    I'm debugging a second stage boot loader for a PC with SATA AHCI controller. I'm able to enumerate the PCI bus and find the hard disk. So far, so good. Now, lspci in my notebook (Dell Inspiron 1525) show me: -[0000:00]-+-1f.0 Intel Corporation 82801HEM (ICH8M) LPC Interface Controller +-1f.1 Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) IDE Controller +-1f.2 Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA AHCI Controller \-1f.3 Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) SMBus Controller My question: Is SATA AHCI Controller always function 2 in any PC? If not, how I found? I don't pretend to be general; booting my notebook will be good enough, without compromise further refinements.

    I've created a Zend_Application using the zf tool that's bundled with Zend Framework (1.96, if that matters) What at the rules for formatting action names and how those action names get translated into into URL paths, and where in the Framework codebase does this happen? I ask because I tried to create an action like public function createFooAction() { } and it wouldn't load with a URL like http://example.com/controller/createFoo BUT, the following did work public function createfooAction() { } http://example.com/controller/createfoo I also know non-alphanumeric characters get treated differently, and I'd like to know the base rules I'm dealing with.

    Is there a way to change the naming convention for controllers in ASP.NET MVC? What I want is to name my controllers InicioControlador instead of InicioController, or better yet, use a prefix instead of a suffix, and have ControladorInicio as my controller name. From what I have read so far, I think I have to implement my own Controller Factory. I would be very grateful if any of you could point me in the right direction.

  • How can i Execute a Controller's ActionMethod programatically?

    Hi folks, I'm trying to execute a controller's Action Method programatically and I'm not sure how. Scenario: When my ControllerFactory fails to find the controller, I wish it to manually execute a single action method which i have on a simple, custom controller. I don't want to rely on using any route data to determine the controller/method .. because that route might not have been wired up. Eg. // NOTE: Error handling removed from this example. public class MyControllerFactory : DefaultControllerFactory { protected override IController GetControllerInstance(Type controllerType) { IController result = null; // Try and load the controller, based on the controllerType argument. // ... snip // Did we retrieve a controller? if (controller == null) { result = new MyCustomController(); ((MyCustomController)result).Execute404NotFound(); // <-- HERE! } return result; } } .. and that method is .. public static void Execute404NotFound(this Controller controller) { result = new 404NotFound(); // Setup any ViewData.Model stuff. result.ExecuteResult(controller.ControllerContext); // <-- RUNTIME // ERROR's HERE } Now, when I run the controller factory fails to find a controller, i then manually create my own basic controller. I then call the extension method 'Execute404NotFound' on this controller instance. That's fine .. until it runs the ExecuteResult(..) method. Why? the controller has no ControllerContext data. As such, the ExecuteResult crashes because it requires some ControllerContext. So - can someone out there help me? see what I'm doing wrong. Remember - i'm trying to get my controller factory to manually / programmatically call a method on a controller which of course would return an ActionResult. Please help!

However it does make sense in that, the original admin url won't respond to that action name and it will need to be redirected. I'm using Magento 1.3.2.2 Thanks for any guidance.

  • How much time do I have to remove a domain controller that was lost using metadata cleanup?

    I am wondering how long after a Domain Controller has been permanently lost, from the domain due to it dying from hardware perspective, do I have before I have to clean up references of it using meta data cleanup? Planning on doing it soon but not sure if there is anything I should be concerned about. This dead or lost domain controller had no roles other than being a Domain Controller and having integrated Active Directory DNS. As well it held NO FSMO roles, it was just an older replication Domain Controller.

  • MVC: Model View Controller -- does the View call the Model?

    I've been reading about MVC design for a while now and it seems officially the View calls objects and methods in the Model, builds and outputs a view. I think this is mainly wrong. The Controller should act and retrieve/update objects inside the Model, select an appropriate View and pass the information to it so it may display. Only crude and rudiementary PHP variables/simple if statements should appear inside the View. If the View gets the information it needs to display from the Model, surely there will be a lot of PHP inside the View -- completely violating the point of seperating presentation logic.

  • Doing large updates against indexed view

    We have an indexed view that runs across three large tables. Two of these tables (A & B) are constantly getting updated with user transactions and the other table (C) contains data product info that is needs to be updated once a week. This product table contains over 6 million records. We need this view across these three tables for our core business process and unfortunately we cannot change this aspect. We even had a sql server MVP come in to help test under load to make sure we have the most efficient configuration. There is one column in the product table that gets utilized in the view and has to be updated each week. The problem we are now encountering is that as volume is increasing on our transactions against tables A & B, the update to Table C is causing deadlocks. I have tried several different methods to no avail: 1) I was hoping that we could change the view so that table C could be a dirty read "WITH (NOLOCK)" but apparently that functionality is not available with indexes views. 2) I thought about updating a new column in Table C and then just renaming it when the process is done but you cannot do that due to the dependency in the view. 3) I also entertained the idea of writing this value to a temporary product table, and then running an ALTER statement against the view to have it point to my new table. however when i did that the indexes on my view were dropped and it took quite a bit of time to recreate them. 4) we tried to do the weekly update in small chunks (as small as 100 records at a time) but we still run into dead locks. questions: a) we are using sql server 2005. Does sql server 2008 have a new functionality with their indexed views that would help us? Is there now a way to do dirty reads w/ an indexed view? b) a better approach to altering an existing view to point to a new table? thanks!

    I have the following view hierarchy UITabBarController - UINavigationController - UITableViewController When the table view appears (animated) I create a toolbar and add it as subview of the TabBar at the bottom of the page and let it animate in with the table view. Same procedure in other direction, when the table view disappears. It does not work as expected. The animation duration is OK, but somehow not exact the same as the animation of the table view when it becomes visible When I display the table view for the second time, the toolbar does not disappear at all and remains at the bottom of the parent view.   • iPhone View Switching basics.

    I am just trying to get my head around simple view switching for the iPhone and have created a simple app to try and help me understand it. I have included the code from my root controller used to switch the views. My app has a single toolbar with three buttons on it each linking to one view. Here is my code to do this but I think there most be a more efficient way to achieve this? Is there a way to find out / remove the current displayed view instead of having to do the if statements to see if either has a superclass?   • Sd card bigger than 2gb is not recognized in ubuntu 12.04

    When I insert a card up to 2gb it is immediately seen by the system but if try it with bigger one it's not seen. I presume the issue is not due to the card reader itself as it reads all cards under windows 7 but due to linux driver. I could see some people having similar issues but no solution. Any help appreciated. GParted doesnt see cards bigger than 2gb.     Hi all, I've got a modal view loaded the following way: ModalViewController *modalController = [[ModalViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ModalViewController" bundle:nil]; searchController.delegate = self; [self.navigationController presentModalViewController:modalController animated:YES]; [modalController release]; When the modal view appears, "viewDidLoad" is called. When I dismiss the modal view via [self.navigationController dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; the method "viewDidUnload" ISN'T called, but the next time I let the modal view appear, "viewDidLoad" is called again. My problem now is that I'm creating an NSArray in the modal view's "viewDidLoad" - and as I'm fetching the data from the web, I would like to do it only once. But this way, it's fetched every time... Any hints how I could achieve that the data is only fetched once? I would really like to do it in the modal view and not in the parent and provide the array as parameter to the modal view... Thanks!

    So. I currently have a steering wheel connected to my htpc. Since it wont work / get recognized by all games i play. I use xpadder to play for example Grid 3. As far as i have understood, it simply presses the associated arrow key when i turn the wheel. What i would like, is a software to simulate more and more frequent key presses of the arrow keys the more i turn the wheel. Example: Tilting a little - 100 presses / second Tilting more - 200 presses / second Tilting max - Hold down key Because what i currently do with the wheel is constantly shaking it a bit right, when i just want to turn a little bit right and so on.   • Using GPO to collect data about VMware view activity

    Our security group wants us to begin logging data for external access to our view enviroment. At first we thought that view security would be logging all source ip's that are external in nature so if for some reason there is an intrusion we would have record of it there. Of course our firewall logs all that information but correlating it to view is sketchy at best with our current implementation. We know on viewdesktops there is a set of keys in VolitateEnviroment that contains stuff such as source ip and username, etc. We have a script in place that, when run as a logon script attached to a user account in AD collects the information as we need it. If we have a GPO run the same script the information does not get collected. We feel like there is a piece of the puzzle we're missing but we don't know what. If anyone knows what we're forgetting or misconfiguring that would be great, or if you have a better way of us collecting external source ip's for view specifically we'd be interested in that as well.     I have a UITabBarConroller that I use to switch between 3 different views. This all works perfectly. On one of my tabs, I added a button at the to called "Add", I have added an outlet to this, as well as an IBAction method which looks like the following: // Method used to load up view where we can add a new ride - (IBAction)showAddNewRideView { MyRidesViewController *controller = [[MyRidesViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AddNewRide" bundle:nil]; controller.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; }//end showAddNewRideView This currently works fine, and loads up my AddNewRide nib file. But, once that view loads, I have a cancel button, which, when clicked, I want to return to the previous view.   • getJSON not working if the mvc model view controller has a parameter

    I'm having an issue with a callback. I'm not even getting an error in Firebug. If I alert before and after the getjson call both alerts show but the getjson call doesn't fire. public ActionResult TestPage() { return View(); } public ActionResult LoadMapLonLats(int mapId) { //some code return Json(_myMaps); } $("#Search").click(function() { $.getJSON("LoadMapLonLats", { mapId: 73 }, loadDbMap); }); function loadDbMap(maps) { alert('m'); $.each(maps, function(i) { alert(maps[i]); }); } As long as I leave TestPage without a parameter is works. If I add a parameter to TestPage(int id) then the call back to LoadMapLonLats doesn't work. Seems odd. Of course TestPage is the page I'm loading so I need to do some work here before rendering the page. Not sure why adding a parameter to the view would break the callback to another function. //this breaks he callback to LoadMapLonLats public ActionResult TestPage(int id) { return View(); } Any ideas? Seems like this may be related, if not sorry I can post a new thread.

    Hi, I bet this is easy but been trying for a while and can't seem to get it to work. Basically I am setting up pagination and in the model below I want to pass $total_rows to my controller so I can add it to the config like so '$config['total_rows'] = $total_rows;'. function get_timeline_filter($per_page, $offset, $source) { $this->db->where('source', $source); $this->db->order_by("date", "desc"); $q = $this->db->get('timeline', $per_page, $offset); $total_rows = $this->db->count_all_results(); if($q->num_rows() >0) { foreach ($q->result() as $row) { $data[] = $row; } return $data; } } I understand how to pass things form the Controller to the model using $this->example_model->example($something); but not sure how to get a variable from the model?
