    Hi, I'm making a simple test project to prepare myself for my test. I'm fairly new to nested resources, in my example I have a newsitem and each newsitem has comments. The routing looks like this: resources :comments resources :newsitems do resources :comments end I'm setting up the functional tests for comments at the moment and I ran into some problems. This will get the index of the comments of a newsitem. @newsitem is declared in the setup ofc. test "should get index" do get :index,:newsitem_id => @newsitem assert_response :success assert_not_nil assigns(:newsitem) end But the problem lays here, in the "should get new". test "should get new" do get new_newsitem_comment_path(@newsitem) assert_response :success end I'm getting the following error. ActionController::RoutingError: No route matches {:controller=>"comments", :action=>"/newsitems/1/comments/new"} But when I look into the routes table, I see this: new_newsitem_comment GET /newsitems/:newsitem_id/comments/new(.:format) {:action=>"new", :controller=>"comments"} Can't I use the name path or what I'm doing wrong here? I want to run the command below, with each instance-snapshot pair. ec2-attach-volume --instance $instances --device /dev/sdf $snapshots For example, if instances contains A B C, and snapshots contains 1 2 3, I want the command to be called like so: ec2-attach-volume -C cert.pem -K pk.pem --instance A --device /dev/sdf 1 ec2-attach-volume -C cert.pem -K pk.pem --instance B --device /dev/sdf 2 ec2-attach-volume -C cert.pem -K pk.pem --instance C --device /dev/sdf 3 I can do either one or the other with xargs -n 1, but how do I do both?

  • How do I start Chrome using a specified "user profile"?

    I use the new built-in "Users" feature of Chrome to switch between Home/Work accounts easily. However, Chrome remembers the "last" user profile you had selected when launching new windows. This is a problem if I close down my "Home" profile last, because when I then click the Email shortcut on my taskbar, because it goes to mail.mycompany.com using my Home profile, and I'm not logged in. I'd like to change the shortcut to the company webmail to pass a switch that tells Chrome to always start as the "Default" user, regardless of the last one used. Note: I have tried user-data-dir, and this seems to do something very different, completely isolated from the Users functionality built in to Chrome. It's possible I'm using it wrong, but please test this before assuming it does the same thing and posting an answer ;-)

    Hello, I have an application that I am building that needs to modify a configuration file. My problem is that I am not able to read the file in line by line. I keep geeting the the entire file as a single string. string ConfigTemplate = AEBuildsSPFolderName + "\Template_BuildReleaseScript.Config"; string[] fileSourceLines = File.ReadAllLines(ConfigTemplate, Encoding.Default); --Returns the entire file contents into the first array element. using (StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(ConfigTemplate)) { string line; while ((line = reader.ReadLine()) != null) --Returns the entire file contents into the first line read.     I've just found myself in situation where I needed to handle exception I'll probably never get, so out of curiosity, let's do a small poll. Do you validate the presence of resources in your programs? I mean, those resources which are installed with your program, like icons, images and similar. Generally, if those are missing, either your install didn't do its job, or the user randomly deleted files in your app. If you do validate the presence, what do you do when the files are not there? Of course, for web apps, you'll have nice 404 page or broken link, but what about the rest? Fail early, yes, but leave handling failures to your compiler, or what?

Now I would like to put my binary resources (images/icons) in a single project/assembly in this solution, so that all my other projects in can use them. My question is how I can do that? What type of project should I create and how should I reference these resources in my XAML code (in the other projects)? I've tried quite a few things but I can't seem to get it to work...

    Hello everyone. I am using wxPython and Py2exe to create my application and my only problem is loading for example bitmaps. Ok so lets say I want to add an image to my application, and thats fairly easy using wxPython, and lets say it is on the same directory of my .py so for example: image = wx.StaticBitmap(self, -1, wx.Bitmap('image.bmp') Now, this works obviously fine, problem is when I convert to Py2exe, I would like to use the resources from the dlls that I included in the Py2Exe compilation. So basically what I want to do is to instead of including the images on the same folder as my application in order to work, I would like to use it from the resources so people won't see the images on the folder.

    Hi Could someone tell me how to add a new line in a text that i enter in a mySql table. I tried using the '\n in the line i entered with INSERT INTO statement but '\n is shown as it is. Actually i have created a table in Ms Access with some data. Ms Access adds new line with '\n. I am converting Ms Access table data into mySql . But when i convert, the '\n is ignored and all the text is shown in one single line when i display it from mySql table on a php form. Can anyone tell me how mySQL can add a new line in a text ?   • XAML resources aren't loaded when calling from different project

    I have a WPF project with some styles in XAML in Application.Resources. This works perfectly fine. But when I open a window from this project from another one (this one is a console application), the resources from XAML aren't loaded. When I first tried it, I got a XamlParseException on StaticResource calls in XAML, so I changed it to DynamicResource and now the style just doesn't get loaded. How do I fix this?   • C++ - Resources in static library question

    Hello! This isn't a duplicate of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/531502/vc-resources-in-a-static-library because it didn't help :) I have a static library with TWO .rc files in it's project. When I build my project using the Debug configuration, I retrieve the following error (MSVS2008): fatal error LNK1241: resource file res_yyy.res already specified Note, that this happens only in Debug and Release library builds without any troubles. The command line for Resources page in project configuration looks the same for every build: /fo"...(Path here)/Debug/project_name.res" /fo"...(Path here)/Release/project_name.res" and I can't understand what's the trouble. Any ideas? UPDATE I don't know why this happens, but when I turn "Use Link-Time Code Generation" option on the problem goes away. Could somebody explain why does this happen? I feel like MS-compiler is doing something really strange here. Thanks.

  • Concatenate text files with Windows command line, dropping leading lines

    I need to concatenate some relatively large text files, and would prefer to do this via the command line. Unfortunately I only have Windows, and cannot install new software. type file1.txt file2.txt > out.txt allows me to almost get what I want, but I don't want the 1st line of file2.txt to be included in out.txt. I have noticed that more has the +n option to specify a starting line, but I haven't managed to combine these to get the result I want. I'm aware that this may not be possible in Windows, and I can always edit out.txt by hand to get rid of the line, but is there a simple way of doing it from the command line?

  • Determining if a coordinate is on a line

    I´m coding a little app that allows the user to draw multiple shapes and then remove or resize them. It´s working perfectly on rectangles and ovals, but I´m having issues with lines. Here´s a method that I wrote to find if the clicked spot on the screen is part of a specific line: public boolean containsLocation(int x, int y) { int m = (getY2() - getY()) / (getX2() - getX()); int b = getY() - (m * getX()); if (y == (m * x) + b) { return true; } return false; I´m using the famous y = mx + b formula and replacing y and x to find if the clicked spot is part of the line. The problem is when I click on the screen to remove the line, it only works if I click on the very fist coordinate (x,y) where the line starts. Nothing happens when I click anywhere else along the line. Can anyone shed a light on what I´m doing wrong? Thanks a lot.

    I'm building a versioned API, so I have the following nested controllers: ApiController < ApplicationController Api::V1Controller < ApiController Api::V1::EventsController < Api::V1Controller The API is accessed via a subdomain. I have the following routes: constraints(:subdomain => "api") do scope :module => 'api' do namespace :v1 do resources :events end end end This produces the type of URL I want (/v1/events). The problem I'm facing is when using responds_with in Api::V1::EventsController. Just doing something as simple as the below fails with the error too few arguments: def index @events = Event.all respond_with(@events) end I know respond_width is meant to be used with resources, but I'm not sure how the events resource should be accessed from the constrained, scoped, and namespaced route. I can output other things (such as current_user), just not an array of events. Help?

  • Xcode "Build and Archive" from command line

    Xcode 3.2 provides an awesome new feature under the Build menu, "Build and Archive" which generates an .ipa file suitable for Ad Hoc distribution. You can also open the Organizer, go to "Archived Applications," and "Submit Application to iTunesConnect." Is there a way to use "Build and Archive" from the command line (as part of a build script)? I'd assume that xcodebuild would be involved somehow, but the man page doesn't seem to say anything about this. UPDATE Michael Grinich requested clarification; here's what exactly you can't do with command-line builds, features you can ONLY do with Xcode's Organizer after you "Build and Archive." You can click "Share Application..." to share your IPA with beta testers. As Guillaume points out below, due to some Xcode magic, this IPA file does not require a separately distributed .mobileprovision file that beta testers need to install; that's magical. No command-line script can do it. For example, Arrix's script (submitted May 1) does not meet that requirement. More importantly, after you've beta tested a build, you can click "Submit Application to iTunes Connect" to submit that EXACT same build to Apple, the very binary you tested, without rebuilding it. That's impossible from the command line, because signing the app is part of the build process; you can sign bits for Ad Hoc beta testing OR you can sign them for submission to the App Store, but not both. No IPA built on the command-line can be beta tested on phones and then submitted directly to Apple. I'd love for someone to come along and prove me wrong: both of these features work great in the Xcode GUI and cannot be replicated from the command line.

  • Home networking problem between power line communication and Ethernet

    My network runs through the electrical wiring of the house and is organised as such: Groundfloor: an ADSL+network switch, using DHCP (address : 172.19.3.1) (Mac) PCs connected via an electrical adapter (model: D-Link DHP-200) (1 per PC) First Floor: 1 switch (8 ports) connected via an electrical adapter (model: D-Link DHP-200) (address unknown) 2 Mac PCs connected (via RJ45 network wires) to that router using DHCP The Problem On the first floor, file tranfers between PCs are fast and perfect. But if I try to transfer files from or to a computer on the ground floor, the speed is slow and eventually the transfer dies out. The Question So I suspect the 1st floor switch is creating some kind of barrier (firewall?) preventing external PCs from accessing the PCs it is connected to? Am I right and if so, how could I disable that barrier?
