    I have a window having multiple tabs. Each tab having different grids. I want to save all changes on any tab on any grid in bulk. I mean I have one save button which will save all changes in any grid on any tab. I think DataTables will work fine here. Can you suggest me that it is good to use DataTables to ADD/Edit data and save data in bulk using these DataTables OR is there any better way to achieve this. My DAL is generated from LLBLGen Pro (ORM) but you are open to suggest me a solution. Thanks. Edit: I am using Telerik controls so I can get all data in DataTable like DataTable dtProducts = this.radGridView1.DataSource as DataTable;

    I am looking at the advantages of threadpooling design pattern in Embedded systems. I have listed few advantages, please go through them, comment and please suggest any other possible advantages that I am missing. Scalability in systems like ucos-2 where there is limit on number of threads. Increasing capability of any task when necessary like Garbage collection (say in normal systems if garbage collection is running under one task, its not possible to speed it up, but in threadpooling we can easily speed it up). Can set limit on the max system load. Please suggest if I am missing anything.

    Im looking for some advice/suggestions on how I should setup the work flow of a small application Im building. When the application is launched the datagrid will be populated via the XML file. Once running the application will receive a datastream that I hope to update the file and datagrid. So Im curious what you would suggest on how I setup the workflow (ie, split the data from the data stream and simultaneously populate the file and grid or would you suggest populating the XML file first and setting up a timer to have the grid read the file?) Im really looking for optimal performance.

    Hi, I have an application for which we use IzPack to create the installer. The installer is working fine in its current state, however, I need to add functionality that enables it to check whether an existing version of the software has been installed. I understand IzPack supports this out of the box using its CheckedHelloPanel, unfortunately that only works for Windows, as it appears to depend on the windows registry. Is there a way to configure IzPack such that it is able to detect existing installations? I need to be able to detect whether there is one and merely display a message notifying the user... Bonus points for how to give the user the option to trigger the uninstaller of the existing installation. Assume that the software will only be installed using the new installer IzPack only: please do not suggest alternatives, as we cannot change that now If you suggest using <validator>, please include a code sample of the validator class, because I have considered this, but don't know where to start

    I'm new to stackoverflow and have been reading through a bunch of the "highest voted" questions for GWT. Several of these questions talk about the pitfalls or problems with GWT. In the articles: Which Javascript framework (jQuery vs Dojo vs … )? and Biggest GWT Pitfalls?, some posters seem to suggest that GWT is not lightweight enough or that there are better alternatives that may be used. Do most of you feel that there are problems with GWT that have not been fixed with GWT 2.0 -- which would make you inclined to suggest using a simpler framework for a new project? To some extent, shouldn't GWT be somewhat future-proof (since you don't have to worry about it changing drastically from release to release and since it is backed by Google)? I realize that the answer to this question depends greatly upon what you want to do or what you wish to make. I am looking at this from the perspective of starting a new web application that will eventually be used by millions of users.

    We are planning to upgrade our Tomcat from 4.1.31. Our's is an Axis 1.4 application where we have our web services. Request you to suggest the latest stable version of Tomcat 5 or Tomcat 6 suitable for our application. And the things to consider while upgrading. Will the existing 1.4 Java code base works smoothly on Tomcat 5 or 6? And going further we may write the code in JDK 1.5 as well. So, having Java 1.4 code and Java 1.5 code together, will create any problems? Kindly suggest. Please share your upgradation experiences. Thank You :)

My prob is similar to "ROMANs" prob,i hav seen earlier in the post at this site.. Basically,i want to combine parts of different wav file into one wav file?? if there is ne other apporach thn takin the contents into an array and cuting part and combining and again converting bac? please suggest... edited: I prefer unpacking the contents of the wave file into an array and editing by cutting the required segment of sound from the wav file,as i am working on speech processing,and guess this way would be easy to enchance the quality of sound later... can ne one suggest a way for this??     Hello, I have recently given up on using Visual Studio for Windows editing. See, PHP isn't really important as I have hardly any pages that use it, but in VS, if it smells PHP then it won't treat it as HTML and thus will all be plainly formatted.. so.. I'm looking for some sorta HTML/CSS/PHP editor that is free and multi-platform(so I can also use it at my home OpenBSD computer) And please don't suggest emacs or vi. I'm learning more and more of nvi, but I'm looking for a graphical editor right now. Can anyone suggest a good editor for my needs?

    If I want to use the name baz defined in package foo|bar|quz, I've several choices: provide fbq as a short name for foo|bar|quz and use fbq|baz use foo|bar|quz|baz import baz from foo|bar|quz|baz and then use baz (or an alias given in the import process) import all public symbols from foo|bar|quz|baz and then use baz For the languages I know, my perception is that the best practice is to use the first two ways (I'll use one or the other depending on the specific package full name and the number of symbols I need from it). I'd use the third only in a language which doesn't provide the first and hunt for supporting tools to write the import statements. And in my opinion the fourth should be reserved to package designed with than import in mind, for instance if all exported symbols start with a prefix or contains the name of the package. My questions: what is in your opinion the best practice for your favorite languages? what would you suggest in a new language? what would you suggest in an old language adding such a feature?
