  • CRM 2011 XAML Workflows in VS 2012

    - by AlexR
I'm writing this knowing there's another topic like this to be found here the answer provided however does not make much sense to me and whatever I tried doesn't seem to work so I'm seeking clarification. The situation is as follows: * New CRM 2011 toolkit solution * New project added for Xaml workflow * Adding CRM "Workflow" activity causes error The error: It shows a redbox "Could not generate view for Workflow" The Exception: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.IOException: Cannot locate resource 'workflowdesigner.xaml' I have VS 2012 SP2 with the latest (June) CRM SDK Toolkit installed. I did a clean install of the toolkit so it's not "upgraded" to prevent any old assemblies being referenced. I tried the things from the referenced question and moved the assemblies over and also re-referenced the latest assemblies to make sure everything works fine. I also tried downloading a workflow XAML created in CRM and opening but it gives the same error. I also opened the "example" workflow XAML solution in the SDK, again same result.

  • How to bind a table in a dataset to a WPF datagrid in C# and XAML

    - by Jim Thomas
I have been searching to hours for something very simple: bind a WPF datagrid to a datatable in order to see the columns at design-time. I can’t get any of the examples to work for me. Here is the C# code to populate the datatable InfoWork inside the dataset info: info = new Info(); InfoTableAdapters.InfoWorkTableAdapter adapter = new InfoTableAdapters.InfoWorkTableAdapter(); adapter.Fill(info.InfoWork); The problem is no matter how I declare ‘info’ or ‘infoWork’ Visual Studio/XAML can’t find it. I have tried: <Window.Resources> <ObjectDataProvider x:Key="infoWork" ObjectType="{x:Type local:info}" /> </Window.Resources> I have also tried this example from wpf.codeplex, but XAML doesn’t even like the “local:” keyword! <Window.Resources> <local:info x:Key="infoWork"/> </Window.Resources> There are really two main questions here: 1) How do I declare the table InfoWork in C# so that XAML can see it? I tried declaring it Public in the window class that XAML exists in with no success. 2) How do I declare the windows resource in XAML, specifcally the datatable inside the dataset? Out of curiosity, is there a reason that ItemsSource just doesn't show up as a property that be set in the properties design window?

  • How to create databinding over two xaml files?

    - by BionicGecko
Hello, I am trying to come to a working understanding of how databinding works, but even after several tutorials I only have a basic understanding of how databinding works. Thus this question might seem fundamental to those more familiar with silverlight. Even if it is trivial, please point me to some tutorial that deals with this problem. All that I could find simply solved this via adding the data binding on a parent page.xaml (that i must not use in my case). For the sake of this example let us assume, that we have 5 files: starter.cs button1.xaml + codeBehind button2.xaml + codeBehind The two buttons are generated in code in the starter(.cs) file, and then added to some MapLayer button1 my_button1 = new button1(); button2 my_button1 = new button2(); someLayer.Children.Add(my_button1); someLayer.Children.Add(my_button2); My aim is to connect the two buttons, so that they always display the same "text" (i.e. my_button1.content==my_button2.content = true;). Thus when something changes my_button1.content this change should be propagated to the other button (two way binding). At the moment my button1.xaml looks like this: <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Button x:Name="x_button1" Margin="0,0,0,0" Content="{Binding ElementName=x_button2, Path=Content}" ClickMode="Press" Click="button1_Click"/> </Grid> But everthing that i get out of that is a button with no content at all, it is just blank as the binding silently fails. How could I create the databinding in the context I described? Preferably in code and not XAML ;) Thanks in advance

  • WPF: ContentPresenter changing Foreground unexpectedly depending on where styles are located

    - by VLTII
    Hi, I'm having an issue with the ContentPresenter behaving unexpectedly based on whether the styles are located in the Window.Resources or in a ResourceDictionary. Specifically, I'm setting the Foreground of the default TextBlock to Black, then setting the Foreground value in my default button style to White. If the styles exits on the page like this, they work fine: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:Microsoft_Windows_Themes="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Themes;assembly=PresentationFramework.Aero" x:Class="TestBed.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480"> <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Black" /> </Style> <Style x:Key="ButtonFocusVisual"> <Setter Property="Control.Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <Rectangle Stroke="Black" StrokeDashArray="1 2" StrokeThickness="1" Margin="2" SnapsToDevicePixels="true"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <LinearGradientBrush x:Key="ButtonNormalBackground" EndPoint="0,1" StartPoint="0,0"> <GradientStop Color="#F3F3F3" Offset="0"/> <GradientStop Color="#EBEBEB" Offset="0.5"/> <GradientStop Color="#DDDDDD" Offset="0.5"/> <GradientStop Color="#CDCDCD" Offset="1"/> </LinearGradientBrush> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="ButtonNormalBorder" Color="#FF707070"/> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Setter Property="FocusVisualStyle" Value="{StaticResource ButtonFocusVisual}"/> <Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource ButtonNormalBackground}"/> <Setter Property="BorderBrush" Value="{StaticResource ButtonNormalBorder}"/> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="1"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="White"/> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="1"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome x:Name="Chrome" SnapsToDevicePixels="true" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" RenderDefaulted="{TemplateBinding IsDefaulted}" RenderMouseOver="{TemplateBinding IsMouseOver}" RenderPressed="{TemplateBinding IsPressed}"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" SnapsToDevicePixels="{TemplateBinding SnapsToDevicePixels}" RecognizesAccessKey="True"/> </Microsoft_Windows_Themes:ButtonChrome> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsKeyboardFocused" Value="true"> <Setter Property="RenderDefaulted" TargetName="Chrome" Value="true"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="ToggleButton.IsChecked" Value="true"> <Setter Property="RenderPressed" TargetName="Chrome" Value="true"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="false"> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="#ADADAD"/> </Trigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </Window.Resources> <StackPanel x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Button Content="Button" /> </StackPanel> </Window> But if I move those same styles over to a ResourceDictionary, the Foreground of the button switches to black. • How do I alter the default style of a button without WPF reverting from Aero to Classic?

    - by DanM
I've added PresentationFramework.Aero to my App.xaml merged dictionaries, as in... <Application x:Class="TestApp.App" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/PresentationFramework.Aero;component/themes/Aero.NormalColor.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="pack://application:,,,/WPFToolkit;component/Themes/Aero.NormalColor.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="ButtonResourceDictionary.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> </Application> I'm trying to modify the default look of buttons just slightly. I put this style in my ButtonResourceDictionary: <Style TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="3" /> <Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Bold" /> </Style> All buttons now have the correct padding and bold text, but they look "Classic", not "Aero". How do I fix this style so my buttons all look Aero but also have these minor changes? I would prefer not to have to set the Style property for every button.

  • How to apply styles to all windows in WPF app?

    - by Brandon
I have the following App.xaml file: <Application x:Class="MiniDeviceConfig.App" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" StartupUri="MiniDeviceConfig.xaml"> <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="Button.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="CheckBox.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="ComboBox.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Common.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="GroupBox.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Label.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="LinkButton.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="ListBox.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="ListView.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="RadioButton.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Tooltip.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Window.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> In my application, my main window is MiniDeviceConfig.xaml (as seen above). In my Button.xaml file, I clearly set the button height to some obscene number. And, this size is reflected in my main window's buttons. However, some action on the main window triggers a modal window that has more buttons on it. I was expecting the same tall buttons but no such luck. How do I get the style to propagate into all windows in the application?

  • WPF Beginner - A simple XAML layout not working as expected

    - by OrWhen
    Hi, I've just started learning WPF, and followed a book to make this sample calculator application in XAML. The XAML code is attached below. I don't have any UI specific code in the xaml.cs file. However, I'm seeing a difference between design time and runtime. As you can see in the attached screenshot, the upper left button of the calculator is bigger than the rest. Even more confusingly, the designer when I edit the XAML shows the button correctly. I've tried to determine why is that, and I'm stumped. Can anyone help? I'm using VS2008, targeting framework 3.5, if it's any help. Here's the XAML: <TextBlock Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="4" FontSize="24" Name="Header" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center">Calculator</TextBlock> <TextBox Grid.ColumnSpan="4" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="1" Name="Display" HorizontalContentAlignment="Left" Margin="5" /> <Button Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="0" Click="Button_Click">7</Button> <Button Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="1" Click="Button_Click">8</Button> <Button Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="2" Click="Button_Click">9</Button> <Button Grid.Row="3" Grid.Column="0" Click="Button_Click">4</Button> <Button Grid.Row="3" Grid.Column="1" Click="Button_Click">5</Button> <Button Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="3" Click="Button_Click">6</Button> <Button Grid.Row="4" Grid.Column="0" Click="Button_Click">1</Button> <Button Grid.Row="4" Grid.Column="1" Click="Button_Click">2</Button> <Button Grid.Row="4" Grid.Column="2" Click="Button_Click">3</Button> <Button Grid.Row="5" Grid.Column="0" Click="Button_Click">0</Button> <Button Grid.Row="5" Grid.Column="3" Tag="{x:Static local:Operation.PLUS}" Click="Op_Click">+</Button> <Button Grid.Row="4" Grid.Column="3" Tag="{x:Static local:Operation.MINUS}" Click="Op_Click">-</Button> <Button Grid.Row="3" Grid.Column="3" Tag="{x:Static local:Operation.TIMES}" Click="Op_Click">*</Button> <Button Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="3" Tag="{x:Static local:Operation.DIVIDE}" Click="Op_Click">/</Button> <Button Grid.Row="5" Grid.Column="1" >.</Button> <Button Grid.Row="5" Grid.Column="2" Tag="{x:Static local:Operation.EQUALS}" Click="Op_Click">=</Button> </Grid>

  • Giving event control back to xaml/callee to access check/uncheck

    - by dovholuk
Hi All, I've scoured the Internet but my search-foo must not work if it's out there cause I just can't find the proper search terms to get me the answer I am looking for. So I turn to the experts here as a last resort to point me in the right direction. What I'm trying to do is create a composite control of a text box and a list box but I want to allow the control consumer to decide what to do when say the checkbox is checked/unchecked and I just can't figure it out... Maybe i'm going about it all wrong. What I've done thus far is to: create a custom control that extends ListBox expose a custom DP named "Text" (for the Text box but it's not the important part) craft the generic.xaml so that the list items have a default ItemTemplate/DataTemplate inside the DataTemplate I'm trying to set the "Checked" or "Unchecked" events expose 'wrapper' events as DPs in the custom control that would get 'set' via the template when instatiated As soon as I try something like the following (inside generic.xaml): <DataTemplate> <...> <CheckBox Checked="{TemplateBinding MyCheckedDP}"/> <...> </DataTemplate> I get runtime exceptions, the designer - vs2010 - pukes out a LONG list of errors that are all very similar and nothing I do can make it work. I went so far as to try using the VisualTreeHelper but no magic combination I could find would work nor would it allow me to traverse the tree because when the OnApplyTemplate method fires the listbox items don't exist yet and aren't in the tree. So hopefully this all makes sense but if not please let me know and I'll edit the post for clarifications. Thanks to all for any pointers or thoughts... Like I said maybe I'm heading about it in the wrong way from the start... EDIT (Request for xaml) generic.xaml datatemplate: <DataTemplate > <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" > <local:FilterCheckbox x:Name="chk"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Display}" /> </local:FilterCheckbox> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> usercontrol.xaml (invocation of custom control) <local:MyControl FancyName="This is the fancy name" ItemChecked="DoThisWhenACheckboxIsChecked" <-- this is where the consumer "ties" to the checkbox events ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource someDataSource}}" />

  • Displaying xaml resources dynamically?

    - by Robert
I used Mike Swanson's illustrator to xaml converter to convert some of my images to xaml. The convert creates a viewbox that contains the image. These viewboxes I made resource files in my program. The code below shows what I'm trying to do: I have a viewmodel that has an enum variable called PrimaryWinding of type Windings. The values PrimD and PrimY of the enum select the respective PrimD and PrimY xaml files in the resources. <UserControl.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="PrimTrafo" DataType="{x:Type l:Windings}"> <Frame Source="{Binding}" x:Name="PART_Image" NavigationUIVisibility="Hidden"> <Frame.LayoutTransform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="0.5" ScaleY="0.5"/> </Frame.LayoutTransform> </Frame> <DataTemplate.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding}" Value="PrimD"> <Setter TargetName="PART_Image" Property="Source" Value="Resources\PrimD.xaml" /> </DataTrigger> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding}" Value="PrimY"> <Setter TargetName="PART_Image" Property="Source" Value="Resources\PrimY.xaml" /> </DataTrigger> </DataTemplate.Triggers> </DataTemplate> </UserControl.Resources> <!--The contentcontrol that holds the datatemplate defined above--> <Grid > <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="2*"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="2*"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="1*"></ColumnDefinition> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ContentControl Grid.Column="0" Content="{Binding PrimaryWinding}" ContentTemplate="{StaticResource PrimTrafo}"/> </Grid> This code works. Only I can't resize the drawings to the size of the grid cell. I added the ScaleTransform class to resize the image. Is a Frame the wrong class to hold the drawings? Should I use the ScaleTransform class to resize the drawing to the size of the cell? And how can I do that dynamically?

  • warning BC40056: Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'MS.Internal.Xaml.Builtins' doesn't cont

    - by Heinzi
I have a WPF VB.NET project in Visual Studio 2008. For some reason, Visual Studio thinks that it needs to add an Imports MS.Internal.Xaml.Builtins to every auto-generated XAML partial class (= the nameOfXamlFile.g.vb files), resulting in the following warning: warning BC40056: Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'MS.Internal.Xaml.Builtins' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases. I can remove the Imports line, but, since this is an auto-generated file, it reappears every time that the project is rebuilt. This warning message is annoying and clutters my error list. Is ther something that can be done about it? Or is it a known bug?

  • Adding image to RichTextBox programatically does not show in Xaml property

    - by rotary_engine
Trying to add an image to a RichTextBox progamatically from a Stream. The image displays in the text box, however when reading the Xaml property there is no markup for the image. private void richTextBox3_Drop(object sender, DragEventArgs e) { if (e.Data.GetDataPresent(DataFormats.FileDrop)) { FileInfo[] files = (FileInfo[])e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.FileDrop); using (Stream s = files[0].OpenRead()) { InlineUIContainer container = new InlineUIContainer(); BitmapImage bmp = new BitmapImage(); bmp.SetSource(s); Image img = new Image(); img.SetValue(Image.SourceProperty, bmp); container.Child = img; richTextBox3.Selection.Insert(container); } } } private void Button_Click_1(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { // this doesn't have the markup from the inserted image System.Windows.MessageBox.Show(richTextBox3.Xaml); } What is the correct way to insert an image into the RichTextBox at runtime so that it can be persisted to a data store? In the Xaml property.

  • WPF Binding XAML vs C#

    - by kubal5003
Hello, I've got a strange problem - binding created through XAML (both ways by markup extension or normal) isn't working(BindingOperations.IsDataBound returns false and in fact there is no Binding object created). When I do literally the same from code everything is working perfectly. One more thing is that the Binding in XAML is created in a DataTemplate - what's funny about that when I use the DataTemplate for the first time it fails, then I fix it from code (add binding to specific objects) and while adding more objects to the collection the binding set in XAML just works. If I try to remove all the objects from the collection and then add a new one the binding fails once again. In reality this is a shortened version of another of my questions. For details please refer to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2986511/wpf-debugging-avalonedit-binding-to-document-property Sorry for doing it this way, but there's no answer and it's probably too long for anybody to read. -

  • how to make dynamic xaml in silverlight

    - by lina
Good day! I want to make a form - a set of questions with different answer types: some questions have a number of answers and you can check one of the answers using radiobutton, other questions you should answer using a textbox, some answers have a datetime type and you choose answer for them using a DatePicker and so on. I get all information about the questions and answer types from a WCF service. I want to make this form using making a dynamic xaml but i've naver made dynamic xaml and I don't know exactly how to make it. Please, can you give me a council about dynamic xaml or maybe you have any other ideas about how to make this form? Thank you.

  • Export data to Excel from Silverlight/WPF DataGrid

    - by outcoldman
Data export from DataGrid to Excel is very common task, and it can be solved with different ways, and chosen way depend on kind of app which you are design. If you are developing app for enterprise, and it will be installed on several computes, then you can to advance a claim (system requirements) with which your app will be work for client. Or customer will advance system requirements on which your app should work. In this case you can use COM for export (use infrastructure of Excel or OpenOffice). This approach will give you much more flexibility and give you possibility to use all features of Excel app. About this approach I’ll speak below. Other way – your app is for personal use, it can be installed on any home computer, in this case it is not good to ask user to install MS Office or OpenOffice just for using your app. In this way you can use foreign tools for export, or export to xml/html format which MS Office can read (this approach used by JIRA). But in this case will be more difficult to satisfy user tasks, like create document with landscape rotation and with defined fields for printing. At this article I'll show you how to work with Excel object from .NET 4 and Silverlight 4 with dynamic objects and give you an approach which allow you to export data from DataGrid Silverlight and WPF controls.
