  Hi Folks, My Requirement is to manage the applications operations(install, update, remove) happens in any android device in the cloud. I could get the list all installed app in my deice through PackageManager Class. Also i am able to notified whenever any operations takes place in my device through intents filters like 'ACTION_PACKAGE_ADDED' through BroadCastRecievers. But i am unable get the app information (like name and others stuff) whenever any app installed and updates. I could get only notifications like installation.. update..removal.. not the details abut the app has been installed..updated. Please help me out in regarding this. Thanks in advance. Regards Prakhs

• Lisp Style question label local functions or not?

  I was wondering if there is a standard practice regarding the use of labels in Lisp. I've been messing around with a Lisp implementation of the algorithm described in the first answer here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/352203/generating-permutations-lazily My current version uses labels to break out portions of functionality. I would argue that the current version with labels is clearer but that may go against common wisdom that I'm not aware of, being new to Lisp.

• function using cl-who:with-html-output ignoring parameter

  I'm not sure whether this is an issue with my use of cl-who (specifically with-html-output-to-string and with-html-output) or an issue with my understanding of Common Lisp (as this is my first project using Lisp). I created a function to create form fields: (defun form-field (type name label) (cl-who:with-html-output (*standard-output* nil) (:div :class "field" (:label :for name label) (:input :type type :name name)))) When using this function, ie: (form-field "text" "username" "Username") the parameter label seems to be ignored... the HTML output is: <div class="field"><label for="username"></label> <input type="text" name="username"/></div> instead of the expected output: <div class="field"><label for="username">Username</label> <input type="text" name="username"/></div> If I modify the function and add a print statement: (defun form-field (type name label) (cl-who:with-html-output (*standard-output* nil) (print label) (:div :class "field" (:label :for name label) (:input :type type :name name)))) The "Username" string is successfully output (but still ignored in the HTML)... any ideas what might cause this? Keep in mind, I'm calling this function within a cl-who:with-html-output-to-string for use with hunchentoot.

• Application crashing on getting updated information from database using timer and storing it on loca

  In our multi - user application we are continuously interacting with database. We have a common class through which we are sending POST queries to database and obtaining xml files in return. We are using delegates of NSXMLParser to parse the obtained file. The problem with us is we are facing many crashes in it generally when application is idle and changed data in database is being fetched in background through timer which is invoked after every few seconds. We have also dealt with error handling through try and catch but it proves to be of no use in this case and mostly application crashes with following error : Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000020 Strange thing is that many times the fetching of updated data at background works very fine, same methods being successfully executed under similar conditions but suddenly it crashes on one of them. • Passing information safely between Wicket and Hibernate in long running conversations

  We are using Wicket with Hibernate in the background. As part of out UI we have quite long running conversations spanning multiple requests before the updated information is written back to the database. To avoid getting hibernate errors with detached objects we are now using value objects to transfer info from the service layer to Wicket. However we now end up with an explosion of almost the same objects : e.g. Answer (mapped entity saved in hibernate) AnswerVO (immutable value object) AnswerModel (A mutable bean in the session domain) IModel wrapped Wicket Model and usually this gets wrapped in a CompoundPropertyModel This plumbing becomes exponentially worse when collections to other objects are involved in the objects. There has to be a better way to organize this. Can anyone share tips to make this less onerous? Maybe make the value objects mutable so we can remove the need for a seaprate backing bean in Wicket? Use the entity beans but absolutely make dead-certain they are detached from hibernate. (easier said than done)? Some other tricks or patterns?

  I wonder if the following script can be optimized somehow. It does write a lot to disk because it deletes possibly up-to-date rows and reinserts them. I was thinking about applying something like "insert ... on duplicate key update" and found some possibilities for single-row updates but I don't know how to apply it in the context of INSERT INTO ...   I am attempting to implement a custom locale service in an MVC 2 webpage. I have an interface IResourceDictionary that provides a couple of methods for accessing resources by culture. This is because I want to avoid the static classes of .Net resources. The problem is accessing the chosen IResourceDictionary from the views. I have contemplated using the ViewDataDictionary given, creating a base controller from which all my controllers inherits that adds my IResourceDictionary to the ViewData before each action executes. Then I could call my resource dictionary this way: (ViewData["Resources"] as IResourceDictionary).GetEntry(params); Admittedly, this is extremely verbose and ugly, especially in inline code as we are encouraged to use in MVC. Right now I am leaning towards static class access ResourceDictionary.GetEntry(params); because it is slightly more elegant. I also thought about adding it to my typed model for each page, which seems more robust than adding it to the ViewData.. What is the preferred way to access my ResourceDictionary from the views? All my views will be using this dictionary.

  Given a Django model likeso: from django.db import models class MyModel(models.Model): textfield = models.TextField() How can one automatically compress textfield (e.g. with zlib) on save() and decompress it when the property textfield is accessed (i.e. not on load), with a workflow like this: m = MyModel() textfield = "Hello, world, how are you?" m.save() # compress textfield on save m.textfield # no decompression id = m.id() m = MyModel.get(pk=id) # textfield still compressed m.textfield # textfield decompressed I'd be inclined to think that you would overload MyModel.save, but I don't know the pattern for in-place modification of the element when saving. I also don't know the best way in Django to decompress when the field when it's accessed (overload __getattr__?). Or would a better way to do this be to have a custom field type?   Greetings, In the QT application we develop we need to display several 'Viewer windows'(to display data in XY plane ,YX plane,XZ plane and in 3D). We were hoping to use MDI application model ,but later client asked for a requirement to drag and view 'Viewer windows' in multiple desktops.(using multiple monitors). This can not be done using MDI window model ,because we cannot move MDI window outside the Main Application Window. Only possible way is to use Dock windows because they can be undocked from Main Application Window and move into other desktops, but Dock windows primary used for tool-palettes or utility windows.   I am trying to get the membership of a group in WSS 3.0. I am doing this in an elevated permissions block. Here is the code: SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate() { using (SPSite site = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.ID)) { using (SPWeb rootWeb = site.RootWeb) { SPGroup gAdmins = rootWeb.SiteGroups["Admins"]; } } }); I get taken to the "access denied" SharePoint screen when I run this code. The group exists. The identity of the application pool for the web application is in the dbo role in the content database. The code works on my development server, but not on another server, which leads me to believe there is something wrong with the permissions or configuration on this server, maybe something in dcomcnfg? Here are some lines from the SharePoint log that seem to be related: PermissionMask check failed. asking for 0x08000000, have 0x00000000 Unknown SPRequest error occurred.   Simply put: I have a database design in my head and I now want to use Visual Studio 2010 to create a WPF application. Key is to use the VS2010 tools to take much as possible manual work out of my hands. -The database engine is SQLite -ORM probably through DBLINQ -Use of LINQ -The application can create new, empty database instances -Easily maintainable (changes in data model possible) Q- How do I start designing the database model (visually) in Visual Studio 2010? Should this be an xsd? Do I do this in a separate project? Q- Next, how can I make the most use of VS2010 code generation tools to generate a business layer? Q- I suppose the business layer will be added as a Data Source (in another project?) and from there it's a rather generic data binding solution? I tried finding clear examples of this but it's a jungle out there, the hunt for a solution is NOT converging to one clear method.... :_(

• Model Not Valid Even With No [Required] Attribute

  I have a model which is validating as False even though I have no validation rules attached to it what so ever. So this is my model; public class QuickQuote { public Enumerations.AUSTRALIA_STATES state { get; set; } public Enumerations.FAMILY_TYPE familyType { get; set; } public Enumerations.CoverLevel hospitalCover { get; set; } public Enumerations.CoverLevel extrasCover { get; set; } public Enumerations.YesNo pregnancy { get; set; } } And in my controller I have; [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Index(IndexFormViewModel fvm) { if (!ModelState.IsValid) return View(fvm); The problem is that unless I put a value into each field it's validating as false even though it shouldn't care. Can anyone see what the problem is here?

  Hello everybody. I'm doing a small web app, which uses CKeditor for user input, and CKfinder for file management (images/flash). Those who know CKFinder, also know that the config file for CKFinder as a function named CheckAuthentication() that returns false or true, giving or not permissions to use CKFinder. This is were a Custom PHP Code checks if the user as authorization to access CKFinder or not. Well for my app I'm using Code Igniter, and of course I've created a model were i handle everything about User Permissions, Loggin, Session Cookies, etc. And i also have a function witch its propose is just to check if the user is Logged in. So I would like to know if someone knows a way that i can call the function isLoggedIn() inside the model security from inside the function CheckAuthentication() in CKFinder config file. For instance, lets say I have a Car model class and want to add one price attribute (database column) per currency, given a list of currencies. What is the best way to do this? I had an approach that I thought would work, but it didn't exactly. • Asp.Net MVC does automatic model validation for DateTime but no others

  I'm using MVC 2 with some Models from a LinqToSql project that I built. I see that when I post back to a Controller Action after editing a form that has a DateTime field from the Model, the MVC Html.ValidationMessageFor() helper will nicely display an error beside the Date text box. This seems to happen automatically when the you test ModelState.IsValid() in the Controller Action, as if the MVC model binding automatically knows that the DateTime field cannot be empty. My question is... I have some other string fields in these LinqToSql generated classes that are Not-Nullable (marked as Not Nullable in Sql Server which passes thourgh to the LinqToSql generated classes), so why doesn't Mr. MVC pick up on those as well and display a "Required" message in the ValidationMessageFor() placeholders I have added for those fields? Sure, I have successfully added the MetadataType(typeof) buddy classes to cover these Non-nullable string fields, but it sure does seem redundant to add all this metadata in buddy classes when the LinqToSql generated classes already contain enough info that MVC could sniff out. It MVC validation works with DateTime automatically, why not these Not-nullable fields too?

  Hi, I need to read a complex model in an ordered way with eclipselink. The order is mandantory because it is a huge database and I want to have an output of a small portion of the database in a jface tableview. Trying to reorder it in the loading/quering thread takes too long and ordering it in the LabelProvider blocks the UI thread too much time, so I thought if Eclipselink could be used that way, that the database will order it, it might give me the performance I need. Each cell has the value Things.getProperties().get[x].getValue() Unfortunately the list "properties" is not ordered, so the combination of cell value and x-axis column number (x) is not necessarily correct. Therefore I need to order the list "properties" in the same way as I ordered the labeling of the x-axis. And exactly this is the thing I dont know how it is done. So querying for the Thing objects should return the list "properties" "ORDER BY name ASC" but of the "Item"s objects. My ideas are something like having a query with two JOINs. Joing Things with Property and with Item but somehow I was unable to get it to work yet. Thank you for your help and your ideas to solve this riddle.

• SubWebFolder and mutliple bin folders with Website model?

  Hi, I am looking for some advice on how what is the best approach to subweb folders and having mutliple bin folders in the WebSite Project model. For adding new pages at a later stage without recompiling the core files of a website and without building a full fledged Plug-in framework api. I am aware of being able to drop in the compiled dlls into the main bin folder and to just copy over the new page files to a sub folder but I am looking for a more organized file/folder approach. Here is the how it was done with WAP: Moving the Code-Behind Assemblies/DLLs to a different folder than /BIN with ASP.NET 1.1 Multiple /bin folders in ASP.NET I should also mention that I see that I can still do it the old way with the website project model by making the adjustment to the config section mentioned here but I was wondering if that has any side affects.
