• Outlook 2010 "forgets" password

  I am running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 Pro x64 on a domain. Outlook is connecting to exchange, and the username and password should be pulled from my logon credentials. The problem is, about every few hours, outlook "forgets" what my password is. In the taskbar, a caution triangle appears, and in the bottom right hand corner of exchange, a "Needs Password" replaces "Connected to Microsoft Exchange." Simply clicking "Needs Password" fixes the issue, and new messages are downloaded. What could the issue be? What could be timing out? • Forbid language switch for certain application(s)

  I have a problem of accidental input language switch. I tried many different settings in order to not do it - change hotkey, install some software (Key Switcher, Keyboard Ninja, Punto Switcher)... But nothing helped. I used to certain hotkey (Ctrl+Shift). Any other hotkey make me even more suffer. The software s found has no feature to avoid accidental switches. What I want is to find a piece of software which can stick "English US" input language to my "Visual Studio". And any Ctrl+Shift pushes inside VS should not lead to language switch. Have any ideas?

• Intraforest user account merge with Active Directory

  I have a scenario where there is a root domain (RD) and two child domains (CD1 and CD2). Users have accounts on both CD1 and CD2, with identical samAccountNames, names etc, and various applications either use the CD1 or CD2 account for authentication to resources. I need to collapse CD2 into CD1, so I want to merge the accounts together. However ADMT does not allow me this option (merge options are greyed out), I think because it does not support intraforest merge of accounts (although it does not explicitly state this anywhere in the documentation). My question is - what is the easiest way for me to merge these accounts? Ultimately all I really need (I think) is for the SID of CD2\user1 to be added to the SIDHistory of CD1\user1 - is there a tool that supports this? Computer accounts and profiles are not a concern for this scenario. Group migration is unlikely to be an issue either - CD2\user1 is usually granted resource access through membership of a group on CD1.

• What are the main differences between SRV records and TXT records?

  Hi there, I'm trying to consolidate domain names for the servers I look after to just use one panel instead of 3 or 4, and one thing stopping me is that the provider I originally wanted to move them to only lets me the following kinds of records: A MX NS CNAME TXT The first four I understand, but I'm not sure about the relationship (if any) between SRV records and TXT records. Can I use TXT records in the place of SRV records? They both seem to be general text records to just point at a particular server without needing to specify a particular protocol, so it doesn't sound like a totally unreasonable assumption, but I'd rather check here before I break something. If I can only set the above records, does that mean I'm essentially unable to so any SRC record redirecting? Thanks!

• DNS NS and domain clarification

  I am really trying to get my home web server up and I don't seem to be succeeding. My web server withing my host system is running my web application and is viewable at the current isp ip 88.89.190.171 over WAN indicating that the webapp is fine and that router ports are forwarded. I have set up a DNS on this system with a single name server in the network and I manage to ping it with ping ns.thejarbar.org I have registered this private name server at my current hosting provider. My domain (thejarbar.org) is obviously registered and I have pointed it to my name server. My question here is if it is simply a matter of waiting on propagation for me to be able to ping my domain? Another way of asking this is if the fact that my name server is discoverable indicates that I have set it up correctly to be used? I have tested with dig and dig -x on my host and have A records for the name server. The server is not the Authorative server so I am concerned that this may be the reason why my site is not discoverable. Is there anything else I may need to so still? I only have one ns. currently, but should this succeed I will be purchasing a more stable secondary system to host my development applications. This is my best chance at getting work (freelance development) due to illness) and this I feel is the last step I need to succeed. Please note that this is temporarily a home server and I will most likely be using it as part of a professional setup very soon I will likely have to repeat this question therefore in a prefessional context in a few weeks as nothing will be different other than the fact that I am going to have a server running elsewhere.   In IMAP authentication with Dovecot, Postfix is stripping the domain name from virtual users who share a name with a local user, causing them to fail authentication. Virtual users without local accounts don't have this problem. How can I prevent this? Failing an answer, how can I debug Postfix to see what's going on? I've turned on every debugging option I can get, and I'm not seeing anything helpful in the logs.

I cannot seem to find the POP/IMAP settings to connect to in the Settings Sections of the new Outlook.com interface. The only instructions I could find mentioned were using the Hotmail interface, and the corresponding section does not exist in the Outlook.com redesigned settings.

  I have created several web sites inside IIS7 on my server. All of them use the same ip and port, but different host names. Currently I have set the host name to www.mydomain.com. Now my question is, how do I get my actual domains to target the different sites on my server. Second question. Can I set my host name to only mydomain.com to make sure that all requests to that domain is handeled by the same application? Primarily, I want both www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com to work when the user types the address in their browser.

But she's from a country with a right-to-left language, and she wants to be able to type in her own language from right-to-left. Going to the control panel and adding a keyboard on her language did half of the trick. She can type in her language but on a left-to-right way. Is it possible to enable the cursor to go on the other direction?

• Route specific network traffic through vpn in virtualbox guest

  I am running OSX with a windows server 2008 guest in Virtualbox. My goal is to route some of the network traffic in the host through the server guest. This is because the win2008 server has a VPN connection to my workplace using a Smartcard solution which can not operate on OSX. My current set-up is like this: OSX (Host): connected to the internet via en01 Win2008 (Guest): connected to the internet using NAT (lan1 in guest) has a SSTP VPN connection to my workplace is connected to the guest using an Host Only Adapter vboxnet0 (LAN2 in guest) The important part is about the host (OSX). Primarily I want all network traffic to just go through en01. However, all traffic which can only be accessed through the VPN must go through the guest and through the VPN. I have one specific FQDN which can only be accessed through the VPN (say corp.mycompany.com). I do not know much about networking. I thought I would be able to get it to work by bridging together LAN2 and LAN1 but this didn't seem to work this: http://archives.aidanfindlater.com/blog/2010/02/03/use-vpn-for-specific-sites-on-mac-os-x/ using a loopback adapter on WinXP (when I did not have win2008 yet, but this doesn't work because I can't create a PPTP connection) And I've also read about Routing and Remote Access but I have no idea on how to use this. Can someone help me in the right direction?
