• Exalogic 2.0.1 Tea Break Snippets - Scripting Asset Creation

  So far in this series we have looked at creating asset within the EMOC BUI but the Exalogic 2.0.1 installation also provide the Iaas cli as an alternative to most of the common functionality available within EMOC. The IaaS cli interface provides access to the functions that are available to a user logged into the BUI with the CloudUser Role. As such not all functionality is available from the command line interface however having said that the IaaS cli provides all the functionality required to create the Assets within a specific Account (Tenure). Because these action are common and repeatable I decided to wrap the functionality within a simple script that takes a simple input file and creates the Asset. Following the Script through will show us the required steps needed to create the various Assets within an Account and hence I will work through the various functions within the script below describing the steps. You will note from the various steps within the script that it is designed to pause between actions allowing the proceeding action to complete. The reason for this is because we could swamp EMOC with a series of actions and may end up with a situation where we are trying to action a Volume attached before the creation of the vServer and Volume have completed. processAssets() This function simply reads through the passed input file identifying what assets need to be created. An example of the input file can be found below. It can be seen that the input file can be used to create Assets in multiple Accounts during a single run. To do this we will need the ID associated with the Account. This can be found by executing the akm-describe-accounts cli command which will return a list of all Accounts and there IDs. Once we have the Account ID we generate and Access key using the akm-create-access-key command and then a keypair with the iaas-create-key-pair command. At this point we now have all the information we need to access the specific named account. createVServer() This function simply retrieved the information from the input line and then will create the vServer using the iaas-run-vserver cli command. Reading the function you will notice that it takes the various input names for vServer Type, Template and Networks and converts them into the appropriate IDs. The IaaS cli will not work directly with component names and hence all IDs need to be found. createVolume() Function that simply takes the Volume name and Size then executes the iaas-create-volume command to create the volume. attachVolume() Takes the name of the Volume, which we may have just created, and a Volume then identifies the appropriate IDs before assigning the Volume to the vServer with the iaas-attach-volumes-to-vserver. disconnectFromAccount() Once we have finished connecting to the Account we simply remove the key pair with iaas-delete-key-pair and the access key with akm-delete-access-key although it may be useful to keep this if ssh is required and you do not subsequently modify the sshd information to allow unsecured access. By default the key is required for ssh access when a vServer is created from the command-line. Even if I try to reload the store from the renderer (combo.store.load();), I still have the alert (0)! But when I select the combo to change the value, I can see the data and when I change the value, I can see the displayFiel! I don't understand what's the problem? • Visual Studio - Project with that name already opened in the solution

  I recently migrated a VSS database to TFS 2008. Using Source Control Explorer, I got the latest version of a solution with 12 projects. When I opened the solution in VS 2005, two of the projects were not found. I am not sure why these two projects were not found, but thought it easiest to just delete and re-add them to the solution. When I do this, VS gives me a "A project with that name is already open in the solution." The project doesn't appear in solution explorer, and is not listed in the .sln file. Any ideas?

I tried to build them in netbean 6.8 and I got this error SEVERE: Exception while preparing the app java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup failed for 'jdbc/PetstoreDB' in SerialContext [Root exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: PetstoreDB not found] Seems like it cant find 'jdbc/PetStoreDB'. So I went back to the website and it look like I have to build the database via Ant script. • Problems debugging using Cygwin gdb in Eclipse CDT(Helios)

  I am trying to debug an application using Eclipse CDT and cygwin gdb and I am facing a problem if my code calls Sleep(), it looks like whenever a sleep is encountered in the code the debugger seems to go in an infinite loop(I meant it never terminates or hit a breakpoint after sleep). On pressing pause the code is stuck on one of the thread on sigint::interrupt. Even my debugger console windows throw these error in the console output: [New thread 5968.0x1f98] Error: dll starting at 0x774a0000 not found. Error: dll starting at 0x775c0000 not found. [New thread 5968.0x19e8] Any idea what are these errors about? It would be helpful if someone can help me out here as I am new to eclipse and I am used to using VS so it has made be lazy to be honest and expect things to work out of box. • Wix, Launch application after installation complete, with UAC turned on.

  Good day. I've been building an installer for our product using the WIX(Windows Installer XML) technology. The expected behavior is that the product is launched, if the check box is checked after installation. This has been working for some time now, but we found out recently that UAC of Win 7, and Vista is stopping the application from launching. I've done some research and it has been suggested to me that I should add the attributes Execute='deferred' and Impersonate='no'. Which I did, but then found out that to execute deferred, the CustomAction has to be performed, between the InstallInitialize, and IntallFinalize phases; which is not what I need. I need the product to launch AFTER install finalize, IF the launch checkbox is checked. Is there any other way to elevate permissions? This java -jar main.jar also does not work (Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from main.jar). I also found out that To run an application packaged as a JAR file (version 1.2 -- requires Main-Class manifest header) What is the "Main-Class manifest header" how do I create it and where do I put it? ADDED I made a mistake in my original question. The second command I tried was: java -jar main.jar.

• Correcting CS0009 Error When Creating Integration Services Project

  Tried to open an SSIS project I had been working on today and received this lovely error: Unable to generate temporary class (result=1) error CS0009: Metadata file 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Xml\2.0.0.0_b77a5c561934e089\System.XML.dll' could not be opened -- 'No metadata was found.' Anyone know why this happens and how to correct it, I've Googled and haven't found any valid solutions relating directly to SSIS. It is only happening with BIDS 2008 and SSIS project types and I tried the same packages (as well as creating a new one) on my other machine and it was fine. Any ideas? Thank you.

  Hi, i know there already are other questions like this, but i could't find anything useful. And it's becoming such a painful issue.. I was trying to install ObjectAid on Eclipse 3.5.1. So, lets google, http://www.objectaid.com shows up. i added it to the repository list, then checked ObjectAid UML Explorer. It says: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: ObjectAid Class Diagram 0.9.86 (com.objectaid.uml.feature.group 0.9.86) Missing requirement: ObjectAid Class Diagram 0.9.86 (com.objectaid.uml.feature.group 0.9.86) requires 'org.eclipse.draw2d 0.0.0' I've had a look into /opt/eclipse/plugins and i've found org.eclipse.draw2d_3.5.2.v20091126-1908, but i coudnt figure out how to install it. The operating system is Ubuntu. Thanks for any help.

• Prevent Python from caching the imported modules

  While developing a largeish project (split in several files and folders) in Python with IPython, I run into the trouble of cached imported modules. The problem is that instructions import module only reads the module once, even if that module has changed! So each time I change something in my package, I have to quit and restart IPython. Painful. Is there any way to properly force reloading some modules? Or, better, to somehow prevent Python from caching them? I tried several approaches, but none works. In particular I run into really, really weird bugs, like some modules or variables mysteriously becoming equal to None... The only sensible resource I found is Reloading Python modules, from pyunit, but I have not checked it. I would like something like that. A good alternative would be for IPython to restart, or restart the Python interpreter somehow. So, if you develop in Python, what solution have you found to this problem?

On the dynatree site, I've found an example how to use it with IFrames http://wwwendt.de/tech/dynatree/doc/sample-iframe.html I was able to adapt the IFrame example successfully. But i'm a bit stuck here, because I'd like to load the tree either via UL/LI or better, with Jason/Ajax. my problem now is, that I dont understand how to provide ther url/links with LI or Jason, so that clicking an entry still opens the linked site in the iframe. Also don't know how I have to format parents/children/subchildren in Json.. Would anybody be so kind to give a sample with iframe and jason/ajax or iframe with ul/li? Thanks a lot :-) G

  Ok, I'm stumped. I've been given the job of installing PHP5.4 on this machine. One of the manual installation steps is to configure the IUSR account to have specific permissions. The problem is, I see the IIS_IUSRS group, but no IUSR account. The only users listed are the Admin user, a Guest account, and a user for the security software. I'm not really the Windows server type, more of a *NIX guy - so this is getting a little frustrating. I've searched everywhere and haven't found a suitable answer, but I have learned a lot about IIS7.5 - so it hasn't been a total waste of time. I've tried several recommendations and found several similar problems, but nothing has worked so far. I've also just tried making the IUSR account myself, but to no avail. If anyone knows how to get this going, I will be ever so grateful.

• Locking Cache Key without Locking the entire Cache

  I have servlets that caches user information rather then retrieving it from the user store on every request (shared Ehcache). The issue I have is that if a client is multi-threaded and they make more then one simultaneous request, before they have been authenticated, then I get this in my log: Retrieving User [Bob] Retrieving User [Bob] Retrieving User [Bob] Returned [Bob] ...caching Returned [Bob] ...caching Returned [Bob] ...caching What I would want is that the first request would call the user service, while the other two requests get blocked - and when the first request returns, and then caches the object, the other two requests go through: Retrieving User [Bob] blocking... blocking... Returned [Bob] ...caching [Bob] found in cache [Bob] found in cache I've thought about locking on the String "Bob" (because due to interning it's always the same object right?). Would that work? And if so how do I keep track of the keys that actually exist in the cache and build a locking mechanism around them that would then return the valid object once it's retrieved. Thanks.

• iPad Web App: Detect Virtual Keyboard Using JavaScript in Safari?

  I'm writing a web app for the iPad (not a regular App Store app - it's written using HTML, CSS and JavaScript). Since the keyboard fills up a huge part of the screen, it would make sense to change the app's layout to fit the remaining space when the keyboard is shown. However, I have found no way to detect when or whether the keyboard is shown. My first idea was to assume that the keyboard is visible when a text field has focus. However, when an external keyboard is attached to an iPad, the virtual keyboard does not show up when a text field receives focus. In my experiments, the keyboard also did not affect the height or scrollheight of any of the DOM elements, and I have found no proprietary events or properties which indicate whether the keyboard is visible.

• cakephp routing problem, plugin routing works but not others

  I'm having a strange routing problem with a site I just uploaded, and I've made a number of changes to test what's happening. It doesn't make any sense. My setup is: - I'm using one plugin, which I've included all the routing in the routes.php file. - I've also included the routes for two other controllers, 'events' and 'updates' they look like this: Router::connect('/login', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'login')); Router::connect('/logout', array('plugin' = 'pippoacl', 'controller' = 'users', 'action' = 'logout')); Router::connect( '/events/', array( 'controller' = 'events', 'action' = 'index')); Router::connect('/updates', array('controller' = 'updates', 'action' = 'index')); What happens when I try to get to 'events' is that I get an error message saying: "Not Found Error: The requested address '/Events' was not found on this server." I've checked the database and it's accessible, through the plugin's model/controller/view. I've also made sure the model/controllers for 'events' and 'updates' are there. Can anyone tell me how to trouble shoot this? Thanks, Paul
