In the code posted above, if the entries in the forms can't fit in the window then the window itself grows. I'd prefer for the window to become scrollable. I've also tried the following... replacing mainWidget = QtGui.QWidget() mainWidget.setLayout(layout) self.setCentralWidget(mainWidget) with mainWidget = QtGui.QScrollArea() mainWidget.setLayout(layout) self.setCentralWidget(mainWidget) results in the forms and entries shrinking if they can't fit in the window. Replacing it with mainWidget = QtGui.QWidget() mainWidget.setLayout(layout) scrollWidget = QtGui.QScrollArea() scrollWidget.setWidget(mainWidget) self.setCentralWidget(scrollWidget) results in the mainwidget (composed of the forms) being scrunched in the top left corner of the window, leaving large blank areas on the right and bottom of it, and still isn't scrollable. I can't set a limit on the size of the window because I wish for it to be resizable. How can I make this window scrollable?

The central issue is that we don't know what we don't know and don't know how to best weigh our different options. At the moment, we're evaluating Flex, ExtJS, and Vaadin. Everything I can find on the web dealing with "tables iPhone" gives me information on UITableView, which only lets you show a list of items to the user - not an actual table in the HTML sense. What's the best way on the iPhone to display an actual table of data to the user, with column & row headings and table cells?

  • How to draw a filled circle in Java?

    I have a JPanel with a Grid Layout. In the "cells" of the grid I can put different elements (for example JButtons). There is no problems with that. But now I want to put a filled circle in some of the cells. I also would like to relate an ActionListener with these circles. In more details, if I click the circle it disappears from the current cell and appears in another one. How can I do it in Java? I am using Swing.

  • Update View at runtime in Android

    The example is pretty straightforward: i want to let the user know about what the app is doing by just showing a text (canvas.drawText()). Then, my first message appears, but not the other ones. I mean, i have a "setText" method but it doesn't updates. onCreate(Bundle bundle) { super.onCreate(bundle); setContentView(splash); // splash is the view class loadResources(); splash.setText("this"); boundWebService(); splash.setText("that"): etc(); splash.setText("so on"); } The view's text drawing works by doing just a drawText in onDraw();, so setText changes the text but doesn't show it. Someone recommended me replacing the view with a SurfaceView, but it would be alot of trouble for just a couple of updates, SO... how the heck can i update the view dinamically at runtime? It should be quite simple, just showing a text for say 2 seconds and then the main thread doing his stuff and then updating the text... Thanks! Update: I tried implementing handler.onPost(), but is the same story all over again.   • Rspec > testing database views

    How can database views be tested in Rspec? Every scenario is wrapped in a transaction and the data does not look like it is being persisted to the database (MySQL in my case). My view returns with an empty result set because none of the records are being persisted in the transaction. I am validating that the records are not being stored by setting a debug point in my spec and checking my data with a database client while the spec is being debugged. The only way I can think to have my view work would be if I could commit the transaction before the end of the scenario and then clear the database after the scenario is complete. Does anyone know how to accomplish this or is there a better way? Thanks

  • Replace the callback for a GtkItem created from a GtkItemFactoryEntry

    I'm writing a plugin that's modifying an existing UI. One thing I want to do is change what an existing menu item does. This is all using the Gtk library. The menu item (a GtkItem) is created from a GtkItemFactoryEntry (which is out of my control), and has its current behaviour defined by the callback in the GtkItemFactoryEntry. I can get handle on the menu item using gtk_item_factory_get_widget() and attach further actions to the menu item using gtk_signal_connect(), but I can't seem to disconnect the original callback using gtk_signal_disconnect() or gtk_signal_disconnect_by_func(). Is there any way I can remove or replace the original callback?

    When I code a popup menu, I can check the mouse event and then before calling show() prepare the menu. Now I want a similar functionality for drop down menus, that live in the menu bar. For example I have the following menu bar layout: Menu 1 MenuItem 1.1 MenuItem 1.1.1 MenuItem 1.1.2 .. MenuItem 1.1.n Menu 2 Basically I want to generate the list MenuItem 1.1.1, MenuItem 1.1.2, ..., MenuItem 1.1.n dynamically when the drop down menu is invoked and before it is shown.     Can anyone recomend me a simple web UI prototyping tool, so I could quicky prototype the look of a my web site. I have tried to use MS Visio for this, but found it very "user un-friendly". What I really need is to be able quicky sketch the layout of the page, put some links, images and buttons on in, play a little bit with a colors (CSS), and it would be great it this tool could support navigation between the pages - but it is not essential. I would rather consider a low-cost or an open-source solution, since I am not a web designer and not going to use that tool on a daily basis.

    I am making a calculator and part of this program takes in user String input and tokenizes it (using my own implementation of a Tokenizer class). So now I have a bunch of Token objects and I would like to test each one of them to see if they hold numbers or operators. Is there a way to test to see if they hold operators (ie. +, -, *, /, =, (, ), etc.) without using if (token.equals("+") || token.equals("-") || ... and so on, for each operator? These Token objects are all of type String.

A view that allows you to input integers (and only integers) that you can limit (between 1 and 10 for example), where you can use the keyboard or the arrows in the view itself. Does it exists? It is for a dialog. A ready-made dialog to request an integer would also help.

  • Error with `Thread.Sleep` during automatic testing on TeamCity 5

    Hello, I'm having some problems executing the tests of the application I'm developing. All the tests execute normally with ReSharper and in NCover. However, the execution of one of these tests in TeamCity is generating an error. This test initializes two objects, the object under test and a simulator of a real object. Both objects will communicate throug a serial link in a representation of the real scenario. ObjectSimulator r_simulator = new ObjectSimulator(...); ObjectDriver r_driver = new ObjectDriver(...); Assert.IsTrue(r_driver.Connect() == ErrorCode.Success); The simulator just do the following in the constructor public class ObjectSimulator { ... public ObjectSimulator() { // serial port configuration m_port = new SerialPort(); m_port.DataReceived += DataReceivedEvent; } ... } The main object has two threads. The main thread of the application and a timer to refresh a watchdog timer in the real object. public ErrorCode Connect() { ... StartSynchroTimer(); Thread.Sleep(4); // to check if the timer is working properly ... } The problem seems to be comming from the Thread.Sleep() call, as when I remove it everything works. The ObjectSimulator somehow doesn't execute the DataReceived event callback. How can I resolve this issue?

If it returns 0 rows, I want next line to be something like: if (!$result) { //do this; } However, in my test, I am getting false when I know it should be true. Is this sound logic here? (note, yes I know I should be using mysqli_query, that is not what I am asking here)
