  • Reserving an IP with Netgear router from Time Warner

    I tried everything but keep getting the following error: "Duplicated MAC address". Nothing is duplicated. I disconnected the PC that I would like to assign the IP. Basically this is important as I will configure some port forwarding and my notebook must always get the same IP from DHCP. This is called DHCP reservation but apparently is not working on this router. Has anyone being luck to have this working? The model is CG814WG and you have to click on LAN IP under web administration, -Sergio

Code: 5. access is denied" There is one button: OK. I can click the button, but nothing happens. I have to kill the Timeslips.exe process and re-open the software.     Hi my friend has a samsung NP530U3C and he has changed the bios to CSM only now it stuck on a loop and will not boot up, the options "F2 setup" "F4 recovery" are there but they do nothing.I have a bootable USB with win 8 that "installs" right up to restart then....back to the loop or in stall.Please can some one help its been driving me mad i just need to get tothe bios and change it back to EFI/CSM.   • user crontabs don't work, only /etc/crontab

    Hi when I use the command crontab -e to set up cron, the commands get triggered (according to syslog) but nothing happens. Also if I run sudo crontab -e. The only way to actually get cron working is to manually etc /etc/crontab I'm confused, since syslog gives me the same output for both methods. Any ideas for tracing down this bug? Thanks alot!

  • Storage device not found on ESX4 with AIC-9410

    I am trying to install ESX 4.0 update 1 on a Supermicro X7DBR-3 system with an embedded AIC-9410 HBA (this HBA is listed on the HCG with Vendor ID 9005 and Device ID 041f) . All SATA controllers are disabled in the BIOS and the logical drive shows up in the Adaptec device summary during POST, however there is nothing listed on the Storage Device screen. The HBA itself is listed if I run esxcfg-info but not if I run esxcfg-scsidevs -a (under ESXi for that last command) Any ideas where I can look next or what might be wrong?

    Hi, I have a password protected MS-Word 2007 file that needs to stay private. How good is Word's protection? If it's not very good, can you suggest a better method for keeping the file protected? EDIT: my goal is to send the protected file to a recipient (who knows the password). I assume this recipient knows nothing about encryption/decryption, but if I absolutely have to, I'll encrypt the file and painstakingly teach the recipient how to decrypt it.

    I accidentally make Pidgin the default app for Yahoo Messenger URI scheme (ymsgr://) in Google Chrome. Now, whenever I click on a Yahoo Messenger URI scheme, instead of appearing a popup chat box, nothing happens. How can I change the default app to associate with this URI scheme back to Yahoo Messenger? I found a similar problem here. But I am using Windows 7, not Ubuntu, so the solution cannot be applied in my situation.

The page displays "File not found", and this appears in the nginx error.log: FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream I'm new to both nginx and fpm, and that error message means nothing to me (even the google machine hasn't helped!).     On our network, when the user is logged on a PC and then tries to login on his laptop he is getting this error: " Windows cannot copy "..\%username%\Application Data\firefox\profiles....\parent.lock file to the local C:..."     Our 64-bit windows server can no longer access the internet although it is a web-server that is hosting webpages accessible by the internet. Since this dilemma the server can no longer receive windows updates or Symantec virus definitions. We have checked our firewalls so nothing is blocked. I've found a number of articles which point to an application uSirius which is apparently discontinued (bought out by Apple or something it looks like) but it is nowhere I have found.
