I have an lenovo t500 laptop. with window 7 and microsoft office 2007. I looked at doucments on the net, of my issue and nothing worked. I am trying to add hotmail account in my outlook 2007.   • Macbook Pro keeps ejecting anything I put into the internal optical drive

    My hard disk crashed and I need to reinstall Mac OS X. I restart, insert the installation DVD, press c on the keyboard and the dvd ejects. I've tried different DVDs, even CDs. It's a Macbook Pro from march 2008. Is it broken? Or can it be something more severe like the firewire controller on the motherboard (since I noticed this after my hard drive started to act strangely)? I've ran Apple Hardware Test successfully.

    Hi I need to control a Windows 7 PC via VNC from a Mac in an office LAN. Since the IPs are dynamically assigned, I'd like the PC to appear in my "Places" and in the automatically detected nearby servers in VNC client I'm using -- both of which require the PC to advertise its VNC server via Bonjour (right?). I tried installing ultravnc, which works when I access it directly by IP, but it doesn't seem to advertise itself in the network. Any ideas?

    Hi, I'm using Snow Leopard and I've just downloaded Google Chrome for Mac. However it doesn't load any page: This webpage is not available. Error 104 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED): The attempt to connect to the server failed. I've googled about it but I had no luck, only answers for Windows. Needless to say I have no firewalls and every other browser or application can connect to the internet.

  • How to update OSX when space is tight?

    Software Update has notified me of a new OSX system update (including the Mac App Store). It claims to be about 1.6GB in size. I have 4.6GB of free space on my hard drive. However, when I attempt to actually run the update, it fails because it claims to need 6.9GB of free space. Is there any particular reason Software Update needs so much space beyond the downloaded file size and are there any work arounds? Thanks.

  • Adding Windows XP on a macbook pro running MacOS and Ubuntu

    My Macbook Pro already dual boots MacOSX or Ubuntu with ReFit. I would like to add Windows 7 in the mix. I can make enough space in the Mac partition to accomodate that, but just want to be sure the Windows installation is not going to wipe out anything and I will still be able to access both OS. Anything else to watch out for is welcome. (Sorry for not posting a question about an actual problem, but I figured that when I have a problem, it will just be too late).

  • picasa web albums poor image quality?

    Did anyone else notice the picture quality degrade after uploading to picasa web albums from Picasa 3.5 Mac? I uploaded them in the original setting which is 1600 by 1200 and did selected the option to not compress jpg quality. On picasa web albums however, I notice that the colors look faded and the picture are a bit grainy. Anyone have the same problems? Any alternatives to an album sharing site with easy upload from picasa or iphoto?

  • Smartphone Emulator for checking emails are readable

    Is there an emulator that would enable me to test the appearance of an email as it is being read on a smartphone (without specifying the phone type)? What I would like to be able to do, is to send an email to this emulator, and then scroll down through the email using the emulator. Ive searched online, and any emulators I found are for testing software rather than exploring the visual appearance of email. I'm using Mac OSX - thanks in advance.

  • Recurring events repeatedly saves a draft every minute

    Using Outlook 2010, some of my recurring (planned, not drafts) events is saving a draft to my Drafts folder every single minute as long as it's active. An example taken from real life is that I have a calendar entry (Appointment) occuring every day from 24-09-2012 until 28-09-2012 from 08:00 to 16:00 (GMT+1) with a blue category, only one participant (me) with subject but without a place. So every minute from 24-09-2012 until 28-09-2012 from 08:00 to 16:00, but not from 16:00 to 08:00, a new draft is automatically saved in my Drafts folder. How do I get rid of that behaviour? Addition here: Removing the offending event just allows a new one to take its place. There doesn't seem to be much on the sites - Microsoft calls it a "personal" issue, but there are more and more instances.

    I'm thinking of getting the Dell UltraSharp U2311H monitor which apparently comes with a DisplayPort. (I used the word "apparently" because I find DisplayPort support a little bit too good to be true, coming from Dell.     In my setup there exist user1, ..., [email protected]. Mail for example.com is handled by Exchange 2010 and all the users user Outlook 2010. There also exists a Standard Distribution list named [email protected]. Is it possible to have some of the users being able to send email with [email protected] as the sender address? Can the sender's GECOS be different too when this happens so that the recipient sees "Offices of Example.com" instead of "User Name X"? Sometimes the secretaries need to send stuff as "the office" and not as theirselves ...

    Hi, When I ran the uptime on my MacBookPro machine I got the following result: Last login: Thu Jun 3 14:43:40 on ttys000 Osama-Gamal-MBP-2:~ iOsama$ uptime 14:49 up 7 days, 20:10, 2 users, load averages: 0.29 0.24 0.24 Why it lists that there are two users? is it normal? and who is the other user, is it the root user or what?
