    I have this code: filenames=["file1","FILE2","file3","fiLe4"] def alignfilenames(): #build a string that can be used to add labels to the R variables. #format goal: suffixes=c(".fileA",".fileB") filestring='suffixes=c(".' for filename in filenames: filestring=filestring+str(filename)+'",".' print filestring[:-3] #now delete the extra characters filestring=filestring[-1:-4] filestring=filestring+')' print "New String" print str(filestring) alignfilenames() I'm trying to get the string variable to look like this format: suffixes=c(".fileA",".fileB".....) but adding on the final parenthesis is not working. When I run this code as is, I get: suffixes=c(".file1",".FILE2",".file3",".fiLe4" New String ) Any idea what's going on or how to fix it?

    I am trying to add iptables rule to allow traffic on ports 465 & 587 to google apps smtp servers. But I got not luck. My WHMCS installation works fine with google apps when I turn off iptables but iptables turn on itself again and email stop working. Please add rules to allow traffic from port 465 and 587. While System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() gets me close, I can't seem to get certain things like environment variables such as %AppData% working.     Hey, Say I have 3 classes class foo1 { List prop1;} class foo2 { foo3 prop2;} class foo3{ int Id;} now I want to select distinct foo2's from foo1 and get Id of foo3. I need to write a HQL stmt for the same. I tried the following select c.Id from (select distinct(a.prop1) from foo1.prop1 as a ) as b inner join b.prop2 as c This throws an 'Antlr.Runtime.NoViableAltException How do you suggest I should go about the same. Please note the inner subquery is working fine. So if I have made some mistakes in there please ignore that. I need a method to do the latter. Thanks in Advance.

  • Weird output of Throwable getMessage()

    Hi I have below pseudo code with throws an exception like this throw new MyException("Bad thing happened","com.stuff.errorCode"); where MyException extends Exception class. So the problem is when I try to get the message from MyException class by calling myEx.getMessage() it returns ???en_US.Bad thing happened??? instead of my original message i.e. Bad thing happened I have checked that MyException class doesn't overrides Throwable class's getMessage() behavior. Below is the how the call passes from MyException.getMessage() to Throwable.getMessage() public MyException(String msg, String sErrorCode){ super(msg); this.sErrorCode = sErrorCode; this.iSeverity = 0; } which then calls public Exception(String message) { super(message); } and finally public Throwable(String message) { fillInStackTrace(); detailMessage = message; } when I do a getMessage on myexception it calls Throwable's getMessage as below public String getMessage() { return detailMessage; } So ideally it should return the original message as I set when throwing the exception. What's the ???en_US thing ?

  • Screen scraping an application window and interacting with the mouse and keyboard

    The other day I found myself addicted to a flash game and frustrated by the thing at the same time. In a moment of frustration with the game I thought I would make a 'bot' to beat it for me. Well, I really wouldn't, but it made me realize: I don't know how to interact with another application in a way to do this. Which brings me to the question, how would one take screenshots of another running application and interact with it with the keyboard and mouse. Ideally the solution would be in a managed language like c#. When doing the background reading the net was drowning with articles on scrapping HTML. There were not many articles on actually screen scrapping an application. Diverse answers are appreciated as I’m really looking at surveying what’s out there.

  • positioning a jquery dialog that is inside an iframe realtive to the parent window

    hallo all i have a site which has a very big scroll on it, and there is an iframe in the middle set to have no scroll and its height is 3000 anyway the document being opened in the iframe has a jquery dialog in it. when im looking at the top of the parent and click a button inside the iframe that opens the dialog the dialog opens at the middle of the iframe and i cant see it... thats because its doing its calcualtions based on the document not the top document how can i change that? so if my scroll was all the way down in the parent the dialog inside the iframe will open at the bottom of the iframe where i can see it.. in other words realtive to positon of parent document. thanks in advance

    I'm trying to modify the HTML of the dialog boxes in CKEditor. The HTML inside each of those boxes is an absolute nightmare, and even worse, the source code is compressed and it's unclear what the path of execution is.     Hello there, all of my Joomla site's contents shows apostrophes as \' instead of just '. Now my head is spinning from looking at all the million places where individual components and joomla itself does add/remove slashes and deals with magic quotes and all of this... I also found that one can rather easily write one's own OutputFilter for the patTemplate, so I thought maybe I would just do a str_replace of all \' to '. Doesn't sound right. How to deal with these apostrophes?

  • Rails, Edit page update in a window

    I have my code working so that I have a table of businesses. There's a pencil icon you can click on the edit the business information. The edit information comes up in a partial inside of a modal pop up box. The only problem is that once they make the changes they want and click update, it sends them to the 'show' page for that business. What I want to happen is have the pop up box close and have it update the information. My update was still taking me to the show page. Any help would be appreciated. FAILED BINDER TRANSACTION ! ! !

  • DOM - More than 5 'window' objects on one page

    Hi, I'm trying to extract data from one of my websites using Greasemonkey. Problem is, the script runs 6 times because apparently the page loads content from 6 different servers. So if I put in an alert ("Hey"); the code runs 6 times and I get 6 alerts. How can I wait for the entire page to load and then start playing with the DOM. Also, I'm using jQuery. Thanks
