  i have very basic question about How JSF2.0 binds Managed Beans with xhtml? say i have inputtext with value="#{MymanagedBean.property}" how this MymanagedBean reference is resolved in JSF 2 ? please consider following points while answering. in ealier version i.e. with JSF 1.2 we have to write binding in faces-config.xml but with JSF 2 it is not mandatory to have faces-config.xml if you do view source of xhtml pages.. you will not find anywhere MymanagedBean reference. then how it is done?

  Hi guys, I am learning Windows Forms in C#.NET 2008 and i want to build a class to work with SIMPLE xml files (config file like INI files), but i just need a simple class (open, getvalue, setvalue, creategroup, save and close functions), to substitute of ini files. • Best way to implement symfony admin components

  I am coding a backend in symfony using the sfThemePlugin (part of sympal). The dashboard should allow for new "admin plugins" to be added fairly easily. What I'd like is to have a config.yml config like this: sf_easy_admin_plugin: enabled_admin_dashboard_plugins: [Twitter, QuickBlogPost, QuickConfig] and when these are set it includes the correct components into the template. I'd like to have each one be in it's own plugin (sfTwitterEasyAdminModule, sfQuickBlogPostEasyAdminModule) or have them all bundled in one (sfEasyAdminModules). Is there anyway to accomplish this? As far I know symfonys include_component() only let's you include components from the current module and not from other plugins. Each "component" or admin plugin should render an icon for the dashboard and a html form that will be hidden until the user clicks the icon.

  Hi, I'm getting very confused about how to call my EF classes in a Class Library from the Client Project I have? Things worked fine when they were in the same project. Now I'm getting errors such as "Unable to load the specified metadata resource ". I've see various ideas / suggestions re how to fix the connection string (e.g. create an App.config in your client project & copy the connection string config from your class library, something about change the connection settings to copy to output, etc) QUESTION - Can someone provide a solid way on how to get EF class access from a separate project working? (i.e. how to get the correct connection information to the client somehow) thanks

• EntityFramwork System.OutOfMemoryException on 100MB upload

• What is this project/compilation source structure?

  Hi, I am working on some project my boss sent to me. After unzipping, this is the structure of the files: executable_file config.mk doc include lib Makefile sources I have only worked with "usual" Makefile projects. But I do not undersatnd the meaning of config.mk here. Do you know which kind of "build" structure (what is the right name for this concept?) is it, and where can i find more information about this? I need to modify it, so it compiles in another hardware, so I do not know where I sohuld work on. Thanks

• WCF App using Peer Chat app as example does not work.

  I converted a VB .Net 3.5 app to use peer to peer WCF using the available Microsoft example of the Chat app. I made sure that I copied the app.config file for the sample(modified the names for my app), added the appropriate references. I followed all the tutorials and added the appropriate tags and structure in my app code. Everything runs without any errors, but the clients only get messages from themselves and not from the other clients. The sample chat application does run just fine with multiple clients. The only difference I could find is that the server on the sample is targeting the framework 2.0, but I assume that is wrong and it is building it in at least 3.0 or the System.ServiceModel reference would break. Is there something that has to be registered that the sample is doing behind the scenes or is the sample a special project type? I am confused. My next step is to copy all my classes and logic from my app to the sample app, but that is likely a lot of work. • A very strange problem -> CSS file not detected .Java web application

  Hello, If i browse my site using http://localhost:8080/abc/Login/index.jsf, everything works fine. But if browse it using simply http://localhost:8080/abc, the page is shown but all its images and css files are missing. What can be the problem? I have this in my web.xml :- <form-login-config> <form-login-page>/Login/index.jsf</form-login-page> <form-error-page>/Login/index.jsf</form-error-page> </form-login-config> Probably, images are not getting referenced correctly. • Maven Grails web.xml

  Might be a stupid question, but in my current maven project i do not have a web.xml in my /web-app/WEB-INF folder. There is no web-xml in my project and never has been, im trying to add it but my application is non-responsive to anything written in the web.xml. What am i missing?, iv tried specifying the path to it through the config.groovy like: grails.project.web.xml="web-app/WEB-INF/web.xml" Am i missing something? Do i need to specify the web.xml in some other config file in order to make my project utilize it ?

• Getting 0x80131902 when calling COM+ component

  I created a COM+ component in .Net. It needs to use a configuration file, so I've created a directory with an application.manifest and application.config file and set that as the Application Root Directory. Now when I try to create an instance of that object, I get the following HRESULT: 0x80131902. I can't seem to find exactly what this means, except that there is a problem loading the app-domain. If I don't set the Application Root Directory, it loads just fine (but doesn't have access to the config).

• Windows batch file: is there a way to add an "and"?

  The short version: is there a way to to write an "and" clause in a batch file? The slightly longer version: I've inherited a Visual Studio project that creates a dll and then copies that dll to another location. As a post build step, VS runs the following script. if not '$(ConfigurationName)' == 'DebugNoSvc' goto end xcopy /Y $(TargetDir)*.config $(ProjectDir)..\myService\bin\Debug xcopy /Y $(TargetDir)*.config $(ProjectDir)..\myService\bin\DebugNoSvc :end It looks like there's a problem when the project is compiled as Debug, since it doesn't do the copy (I'm guessing that at some point the middle section got updated, but the if clause didn't.) Is there an easy way to an "and" clause in batch?

• Automate publishing of a WCF library using MSBuild

  I searched and couldn't find anything releated to this topic. When using Visual Studio 2010 for a WCF library, you can right-click it and publish the WCF Library, which generates/creates the .svc and web.config file as well as deploys it. I have been trying to mimic this in msbuild and have had no success. Is this possible? I have build scripts to deploy a WCF application, website, and have had no luck using these scripts to successfully deploy a WCF library. When i do use them, it compiles the Dll's but not the .svc or web.config file. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  I face a problem with FOSUserBundle. In my Symfony2 application, I want to implement two differents User. I have one entity User, for basic user, and one entity UserPro with more informations. My problem is that I want to configure my bundle with this two entities: fos_user: db_driver:     orm firewall_name: main user_class:    Btp\UserBundle\Entity\User fos_userpro: db_driver:     orm firewall_name: pro user_class:    Btp\UserProBundle\Entity\UserPro And so, use fos_user and fos_userpro as provider in my security.yml. I'm no sure it's be possible. I obtain an error : There is no extension able to load the configuration for "fos_userpro" (in /..../app/config/config.yml). Looked for namespace "fos_userpro", found "framework", "security", ... And when I take a look in FOSUserBundle files, I feel that fos_user is not a configuration variable and is directly written in strings. Thanks.

• Rails + RSpec problem

  I have just installed Rspec and Rspec-rails. When i try to run the test, it says: rake aborted!   I'm building three web applications in .NET that will all share a users database and login information. Lets pretend that application 1 is the "parent" application and applications "A" and "B" are the "child" applications. All users have to be logged into application 1 to have access to applications A and B. Authorization, Authentication, and MachineKey sections of all web configs are present and work correctly. I have the correct web.config settings in all applications to achieve Single Sign On except one problem remains: what do I put in the "loginUrl" attribute of the forms tag in Applications A and B. Assume that the url for the login to application 1 is "www.johnsapp.com/login.aspx" How can I get applications A and B to send the user back to application 1 for authentication using only settings in web.config?

• Alternative to 'publish' in visual studio

  I am working on an app with configurable files. When i publish i notice 1) I get an installer which i dont think i can opt out of 2) I dont know where the install path is and if i change the config files the application will not install (maybe not run either if i edit them in the right place?) So what alternatives do i have? I would like some event i can run which builds in release mode then copies the release.exe and any config/media file and move it to path/deploy/prj/ so i can zip it or share it instead of a path in my sensitive path/src area (bonus is i can share deploy if i want all projects to be available (and no source)) Using visual studio 2010 -edit- also i need some data in src/relatedprj/bin/*, to be copied into the root

• Suggest an alternative way to organize/build a database solution.

  We are using Visual Studio 2010, but this was first conceived with VS2003. I will forward the best suggestions to my team. The current setup almost makes me vomit. It is a C# solution with most projects containing .sql files. Because we support Microsoft, Oracle, and Sybase, and so home-brewed a pre-processor, much like C preprocessor, except that substitutions are performed by a home-brewed C# program without using yacc and tools like that. #ifdefs are used for conditional macro definitions, and yeah - macros are the way this is done. A macro can expand to another macro or two, but this should eventually terminate. Only macros have #ifdef in them - the rest of the SQL-like code just uses these macros. Now, the various configurations: Debug, MNDebug, MNRelease, Release, SQL_APPLY_ALL, SQL_APPLY_MSFT, SQL_APPLY_ORACLE, SQL_APPLY_SYBASE, SQL_BUILD_OUTPUT_ALL, SQL_COMPILE, as well as 2 more. Also: Any CPU, Mixed Platforms, Win32. What drives me nuts is having to configure it correctly as well as choosing the right one out of 12 x 3 = 36 configurations as well as having to substitute database name depending on the type of database: config, main, or gateway. I am thinking that configuration should be reduced to just Debug, Release, and SQL_APPLY. Also, using 0, 1, and 2 seems so 80s ... Finally, I think my intention to build or not to build 3 types of databases for 3 types of vendors should be configured with just a tic tac toe board like: XOX OOX XXX In this case it would mean build MSFT+CONFIG, all SYBASE, and all GATEWAY. Still, the overall thing which uses a text file and a pre-processor and many configurations seems incredibly clunky. It is year 2010 now and someone out there is bound to have a very clean and/or creative tool/solution. The only pro would be that the existing collection of macros has been well tested. Have you ever had to write SQL that would work for several vendors? How did you do it?   Lets say I have a directory at \testfolder, and the latest is currently at /main/10. I know that the operation resulting in testfolder@@/main/6 is to remove a file named test.txt. What's a sequence of cleartool operations that can be done in a script that will take "testfolder@@/main/6" and "test.txt" as input, and will cat out the contents of test.txt as of that time? One way I can think of is to get the time of /main/6 operation, create a view with config spec -time set to that time, and then cat the test.txt at the directory. But I'm wondering if I can do this in a easier way that doesn't involve manipulating config specs, perhaps through "cleartool find" and extended path names

• WiX, Conditionally installing a file based on OS

  In my WiX project I need to install different content for the same file name, based on the OS. If the OS is Windows 7 then the file needs to have content X. If the OS is Windows Vista the file needs to have content Y. I have thought through a few approaches: Define two components, one with the content for windows 7 and another with the contents for Vista. Run a custom action based on the OS that overwrites the content for Vista if the OS is Windows 7. Define two additional features (window7 config and win vista config) have the components target the same file and install the feature conditionally based on OS. Which is the best approach to take. Any tips, tricks and sample wix to get this going?

• problem with application after moving from local to hosting server

  I have an application developed with CodeIgniter that works perfectly on my local server. After uploading it to the hosting server I've run into few issues that I can't figure out. I removed the index.php from URL by changing $config['index_page'] = "" in config.php file and adding rewriterule in .htaccess file. Everything worked fine on a local server. On hosting server the webstie wouldn't load until I reverted those changes to defaults. Now the strangest thing. I test the website and all pages load fine except of one. When I point to that page the browser responds with "Connection closed by remote server" (That's from Opera, other browser gave similar response). After closing the browser when I try to load the website again, now it won't even load any page showing me CodeIgniter's styled error "404 Page Not Found" What he heck?
