• I can't fix a broken image in Internet Explorer

  Hi All, I have a broken image in IE that I can't seem to fix. I have tried everything I could think of so far. It works just fine in all browsers except IE. You can view the broken image here... http://74.53.164.152/~maury66/index.php?cPath=5_11 As you can see, all of the product images work except for the one for the product titled "Facial Hydrating Lotion - 120 ml/4 fl oz - For normal and oily skin types". Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this? Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I have a product database and I am displaying trying to display them as clean URLs, below is example product names: PAUL MITCHELL FOAMING POMADE (150ml) American Crew Classic Gents Pomade 85g Tigi Catwalk Texturizing Pomade 50ml What I need to do is display like below in the URL structrue: www.example.com/products/paul-mitchell-foaming-gel(150ml) The problem I have is I want to do the following: Remove anything with braquets(and the braquets) Remove any numbers next to g or ml e.g. 400ml, 10g etc... I have been banging my head trying different string replaces but cant get it right, I would really appreciate some help. Cheers

• Returning EF entities using WCF - Read only web service / public API

  I'm currently migrating an application from Linq-to-SQL & ASP.net Web Services (asmx) to Entity Framework and WCF. My question is, I have a bunch of POCO classes which i have xml mapping files for (for the linq to sql) I've replaced my linq to sql with an entity framework data model I've got an interface - something like IService - that has all the methods on it that i need my service to implement - for example: Product[] GetProductsByKeyword(string keyword); In the above case, Product is a POCO. I now have them as entities within my ef data model - i'm using .net 4, and could take advantage of poco support, but don't really see the need - This service is strictly read only. What's the best way of returning entities in my WCF service? I want it to support other client platforms, not just .net (so php guys could use it)

  Sorry if the question title is confusing. Let me explain further. I am building a Java project with Eclipse. In my Java product I have conditionals that determine what code is included in the product and relies on static final constants for dead stripping. class BuildFlags { public static final boolean SOME_FLAG = true; // Need to set this programmatically } class SomeOtherClass { public void someMethod() { if (BuildFlags.SOME_FLAG) { // flag specific code } } } My question is how can I change BuildFlags.SOME_FLAG (above) so that I can run a special build without changing the source? Is there some way I can pass flags to the jvm (from eclipse) which I can then access to set this flag programatically?

• FreeText Query is slow - includes TOP and Order By

  The Product table has 700K records in it. The query: SELECT TOP 1 ID, Name FROM Product WHERE contains(Name, '"White Dress"') ORDER BY DateMadeNew desc takes about 1 minute to run. There is an non-clustered index on DateMadeNew and FreeText index on Name. If I remove TOP 1 or Order By - it takes less then 1 second to run. • Most efficent way to limit rows returns from union query- TSQL

  Hey guys...I have a simple stored proc with two queries joined with a union select name as 'result' from product where... union select productNum as 'result' from product where... I want to limit this to the TOP 10 results... if i put TOP 10 in each seperate query I get 20 results total. What is the most efficient way to limit total results to 10? I dont want to do TOP 5 in each because I may end up in a situation where I have something like 7 "names" and 3 "productsNumbers"

• What does open source license (like GNU-GPL) mean?

  I am looking forward to use an open source product which has GNU-GPL like license and it says that if I use that product, I must share the source code of my application. I am slightly confused about it. I understand that Linux is available under GNU-GPL license as well. Does it mean ALL linux application are and has to be open source? Does it mean I can ask for the source code of complete Oracle DB from Oracle Corp (at least the part that runs on Linux)?

  I have this products catalog site.For the sake of SEO, I would have wanted my 'view details' link to look some thing like this ~/products/26-productname or ~/products/26/productname On my machine I'm using a url re-writing module and it works well. Unfortunately My host(shared) does not support url re-writing modules or Aspnet 4.0 for now. So I came up with a workaround that attempts to be SEO friendly Instead of this : ~/Products/details.aspx?id=26 I decided to simply append the product name in the url and i.e ~/Products/details.aspx?product=26-Toshiba Qosmio Notebook So my question is how SEO friendly is such a URL and is my attempt worth anything at all?

• PHP Magento Screen Scraping

  I am trying to scrape a suppliers magento site in an effort to save some time because of there being around 2000 products I need to gather info for. I'm totally OK with writing a screen scraper for pretty much anything but i've encountered a major problem. Im using get_file_contentsto gather the html of the product page. The problem is: You need to be logged in, to view the product page. Its a standard magento login, so how can I get round this in my screen scraper? I don't require a full script, just advice on a method. Thanks

• Japanese character stored in SQL Server DB using ASP page that assumed it as ISO-8859-1 encoding

  We have a legacy ASP based product that allowed the UI and Data languages of user groups to be configured according to their locations. CodePage and CharSet in ASP pages collecting data was set accordingly. I've noticed few instances in the SQL Server DB where users posted Japanese characters in the ASP page that assumes the oncoming stream to be of ISO-8859-1/Western and as a result, the data in the SQL table has gobbled up. While upgrading the client to our new product, I want to back-convert those "garbage" Japanese (in some instances Chinese) characters back to their actual form. Can I create some utility ASP page that would go through such data values and "fix" the wrongly-encoded strings and store everything back as utf-8 strings? In any case, I don't want to affect my French/Spanish/English characters that might be there as well.

  I just did a fresh installation of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and ReSharper 5. But now ran into the following situation; return View("~/Plugin/Plugin.Product.dll/Plugin.Product.Views.CreateProduct.ascx"); From a controller i'm returning a view a shown above. ReSharper 5 is trying to resolve this view, but can't find it. Which is explainable in my situation. What i want is to disable the option for ReSharper to try and resolve the views.   I am learning how to encrypt the ConnectionString for our C# (3.5) Application. I read the .Net Framwork Developer Guide (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/89211k9b(VS.80).aspx) about securing connection string. but not fully understand the contents. It says "The connection string can only be decrypted on the computer on which it was encrypted." We have a release machine which will build our application which will generate the OurApp.exe.config and then install it to many product machines. Is that meam we have to have this encryption process separated with our application and run it at individual product machine? We may use the "RSAProtectedConfigurationProvider". It mentioned we need encryption key for that provider. when and how we should provide the encryption key? thanks,

  Is there a way to open multiple AI files (say 3 individual files) and somehow save in a way that I can open the same 3 files simultaneously in the future? I always want the multiple files to open together. Situation: We design products with AI. A single product may have multiple versions. The designer typically creates 1 AI file, then puts all versions of the product in the single file. I need them to put each version in a separate file for an integration project, but this creates more work for them. The solution I'm looking for would allow them to open all the relevant AI file and somehow same them all as a group. Next time, they open the group and all AI files open together. Thank you

• How to list all items in custom taxonomy with a permanlink in Wordpress

  Hi, Not sure how to word this. I've set up a type in Wordpress called Products. I also have two taxonomies linked to Products called Brands and Categories. When you create a product you can set to which Brand and Category the product belong to. It works perfectly when using the type as permalink to list everything within a type http://sitename.com/products but I can't seem to get the taxonomies working in the same way, ie. list all the items within a taxonomy (like an archive, I suppose): http://sitename.com/brands http://sitename.com/categories Is this possible, and if so, what could I possibly be doing wrong? I would try and set up some rewrite rules in functions.php, but I don't know what the query string looks like if you want to list items in a taxonomy, and if this is even possible. If it helps, I'm using the plugins More Types and Ultimate Taxonomy Manager to create the types and taxonomies.

  I have a web shop which sends my customers to a pretty popular website to redeem their just purchased product (at my site). However, I keep getting complaints that the product has been redeemed at the wrong account. Because the other website is that popular, it often appears that when the customers computer is shared by others the wrong account was logged in (automatically by a coockie). Now I'm wondering which steps I can take to prevent this from happening, since I don't have control over the other website (which does not make clear enough who's logged in). Is there some way to open another website without its coockies?

  For my website i have tables Category :: id | name Product :: id | name | categoryid Now each category may have different sizes, for that I have also created a table Size :: id | name | categoryid | price Now the problem is that each category has also different ingredients that customer can choose to add to his purchased product. And these ingredients have different prices for different sizes.   I'm quite interested in automatic images translation to 3d models. Not really for commercial product, but from the point of possible academic research and implementation. What I'd like to achieve is almost transparent for user process of transformation series of images (fewer is better) to 3d model which might be shown in flash/silverlight/javafx or similar. Consider online furniture store with 3d models of all items in stock. Kinda cool to have ability to see the product in 3d before purchasing it. I managed to find a few pieces of software, like insight3d, but it couldn't be used in my case I guess. So, are there any similar projects or tips for me? If it would require to write that piece of software - I'd really love to dig into research on this field.

• Detect at runtime which country's App Store my iPhone app was downloaded from?

  I have a feature in my iPhone application that, for business reasons, should only be shown/available to customers in the US. If I want to release this app to App Stores outside the US, what's the best way to figure out which country I'm in without relying on user-defined settings such as language and locale? In my mind, the ideal solution is that there's some runtime property that can tell me which App Store country the app was downloaded from, and I can take action accordingly. Looking through the docs and searching the web, I'm not coming up with anything in this department. I don't expect the solution to be 100% foolproof as far as users not being in the country they say they're from, but as close as possible would be nice. I suppose one solution would be to make a separate build for a new product on the App Store and have two versions, one for the US and one for the others, but that doesn't seem ideal. I'm hoping it can be the same product on the App Store to prevent things like fragmentation of user reviews. Thanks in advance!
