  • Long labels appear to be hidden with "..." - MS Chart Pie Graph control

    - by Mike
    I would like the labels to be completely visible, and if necessary, just spin the pie chart so that the text will fit without being hidden with "...". Here is an example Anyone know how to fix this so it is not shortened? This is the control on my asp page. <asp:CHART ID="Chart1" runat="server" BorderColor="181, 64, 1" BorderDashStyle="Solid" BorderWidth="2" Height="371px" ImageLocation="~/TempImages/ChartPic_#SEQ(300,3)" ImageType="Png" Palette="None" Width="693px" BorderlineColor=""> <legends> <asp:Legend BackColor="Transparent" Enabled="False" Font="Trebuchet MS, 8.25pt, style=Bold" IsTextAutoFit="True" Name="Default"> </asp:Legend> </legends> <series> <asp:Series ChartArea="ChartArea1" ChartType="Pie" Legend="Default" Name="Series1" CustomProperties="PieLabelStyle=Outside, PieDrawingStyle=Concave" YValuesPerPoint="6" Font="Trebuchet MS, 8.25pt, style=Bold"> <SmartLabelStyle AllowOutsidePlotArea="No" MaxMovingDistance="100" /> </asp:Series> </series> <chartareas> <asp:ChartArea BackColor="#DEEDF7" BackGradientStyle="TopBottom" BackSecondaryColor="White" BorderColor="64, 64, 64, 64" BorderDashStyle="Solid" Name="ChartArea1" ShadowColor="Transparent"> <Area3DStyle Enable3D="True" IsRightAngleAxes="False" /> </asp:ChartArea> </chartareas> </asp:CHART> Thanks.

  • identation control while developing a small python like language

    - by sap
Hello, Im developing a small python like language using flex, byacc (for lexical and parsing) and C++, but i have a few questions regarding scope control. just as python it uses white spaces (or tabs) for identation, not only that but i want to implement index breaking like for instance if you type "break 2" inside a while loop thats inside another while loop it would not only break from the last one but from the first loop as well (hence the number 2 after break) and so on. example: while 1 while 1 break 2 end end #after break 2 it would jump right here but since i dont have an "anti" tab character to check when a scope ends (like C for example i would just use the '}' char) i was wondering if this method would the the best: i would define a global variable, like "int tabIndex" on my yacc file that i would access in my lex file using extern. then everytime i find a tab character on my lex file i would increment that variable by 1. when parsing on my yacc file if i find a "break" keyword i would decrement by the amount typed after it from the tabIndex variable, and when i reach and EOF after compiling and i get a tabIndex != 0 i would output compilation error. now the problem is, whats the best way to see if the identation got reduced, should i read \b (backspace) chars from lex and then reduce the tabIndex variable (when the user doesnt use break)? another method to achieve this? also just another small question, i want every executable to have its starting point on the function called start() should i hardcode this onto my yacc file? sorry for the long question any help is greatly appretiated. also if someone can provide an yacc file for python would be nice as a guideline (tried looking on google and had no luck). thanks in advance.

  • Raytraced Shadows Problem

    - by Mat
Hey There! I've got a problem with shadowrays in my raytracer. Please have a look at the following two pictures 3D sMax: My Raytracer: The scene is lit by a very bright light, shining from the back. It's so bright that there is no gradient in the shading, just either white or dark (due to the overexposure). both images were rendered using 3DStudioMax and both use the exact same geometry, just in one case the normals are interpolated across the triangles. Now consider the red dot on the surface. In the case of the unsmoothed version, it lies in a dark area. this means that the light source is not visible from this triangle, since it's facing away from it. In the smoothed version however, it lies in the lit area, because the interpolated normal would suggest, that the light would be visible at that point (although the actual geometry of the triangle is facing away from the lightsource). My problem now is when raytraced shadows come in. if a shadowray is shot into the scene, from the red dot, to test whether the light-source is visible or not (to determine shadowing), the shadowray will return an intersection, independent of whether normals are interpolated or not (because intersections only depend on the geometry). Therefore the pixel would be shaded dark. 3dsamx is handling the case correctly - the rendered image was generated with Raytraced shadows turned on. However, my own Raytracer runs exactly into this problem when i turn on raytraced shadows (in my raytracer, the point is dark in both cases, because raytraced shadows determine the point lying in the shadow), and i don't know how to solve it. I hope someone knows this problem and how to deal with it.. thanks!

  • Regex to check if exact string exists including #

    - by Jayrox
New question As suggested by Asaph in previous question: Regex to check if exact string exists I am looking for a way to check if an exact string match exists in another string using Regex or any better method suggested. I understand that you tell regex to match a space or any other non-word character at the beginning or end of a string. However, I don't know exactly how to set it up. Search String: #t String 1: Hello World, Nice to see you! #t String 2: Hello World, Nice to see you! String 3: #T Hello World, Nice to see you! I would like to use the search string and compare it to String 1, String 2 and String 3 and only get a positive match from String 1 and String 3 but not from String 2. Requirements: Search String may be at any character position in the Subject. There may or may not be a white-space character before or after it. I do not want it to match if it is part of another string; such as part of a word. For the sake of this question: I think I would do this using this pattern: /\b\#t\b/gi However, this is not returning the results as I would have expected. I am able to find the exact matches for normal strings (strings where # isn't present) using: /\b{$search_string}\b/gi Additional info: this will be used in PHP 5

  • Draw a column graph with no space between columns

    - by Andrew Shepherd
I am using the WPF toolkit, and am trying to render a graph that looks like a histogram. In particular, I want each column to be right up against each other column. There should be no gaps between columns. There are a number of components that you apply when creating a column graph. (See example XAML below). Does anybody know if there is a property you can set on one of the elements which refers to the width of the white space between columns? <charting:Chart Height="600" Width="Auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Name="MyChart" Title="Column Graph" LegendTitle="Legend"> <charting:ColumnSeries Name="theColumnSeries" Title="Series A" IndependentValueBinding="{Binding Path=Name}" DependentValueBinding="{Binding Path=Population}" Margin="0" > </charting:ColumnSeries> <charting:Chart.Axes> <charting:LinearAxis Orientation="Y" Minimum="200000" Maximum="2500000" ShowGridLines="True" /> <charting:CategoryAxis Name="chartCategoryAxis" /> </charting:Chart.Axes> </charting:Chart>

  • PDF parsing file trailer

    - by Ralph
It is not clear from the PDF ISO standard document (PDF32000-2008) whether a comment may follow the startxref keyword: startxref Byte_offset_of_last_cross-reference_section %%EOF The standard does seem to imply that comments may appear anywhere: 7.2.3 Comments Any occurrence of the PERCENT SIGN (25h) outside a string or stream introduces a comment. The comment consists of all characters after the PERCENT SIGN and up to but not including the end of the line, including regular, delimiter, SPACE (20h), and HORZONTAL TAB characters (09h). A conforming reader shall ignore comments, and treat them as single white-space characters. That is, a comment separates the token preceding it from the one following it. EXAMPLE The PDF fragment in this example is syntactically equivalent to just the tokens abc and 123. abc% comment ( /%) blah blah blah 123 Comments (other than the %PDF–n.m and %%EOF comments described in 7.5, "File Structure") have no semantics. They are not necessarily preserved by applications that edit PDF files. If they are allowed to appear after the startxref, parsing the file becomes more difficult because you do not know how far to back up from the %%EOF comment to start parsing to find the byte offset. Any ideas?

  • JQuery not Working in chrome?

    - by Pete Herbert Penito
Hi everyone! I have some code here which works perfectly in firefox but not in chrome or IE, my javascript is thus ` $(document).ready(function() { $("#clientLoginPop").show(); $("#clientLoginPop").animate({"left": "-=400px"}, "fast"); }); $("#clientLoginCloseLink").click(function () { $("#clientLoginPop").animate({"left": "+=400px"}, "fast"); }); $("#contactUsPopLink").click(function () { $("#contactUsPop").show(); $("#contactUsPop").animate({"left": "-=437px"}, "fast"); }); $("#contactUsClose").click(function () { $("#contactUsPop").animate({"left": "+=474px"}, "fast"); }); }); ` and finally the css of the div looks like this, i think rather importantly it's aligned to the right of the browser: (the client login div looks similar just a different height) ` #contactUsPop { width:437px; right:-437px; margin-top:220px; position:fixed; height:217px; background-color:white; z-index:2; } ` so what happens in firefox is the div animates to the left and then when it closes it moves back to the right. when in chrome the div doesn't seem to pop up at all? the URL of the site is this: http://clearcreativegroup.com/devcorner/clear3/ the tabs are on the right hand side of the browser, any advice would help tons, thank you!

  • sIFR3: controlling a and a:hover styles inside replaced through CSS rather than JS

    - by sneeuwitje
For graceful degrading and minimal coding for the sIFR feature on my websites I would want to define styles in CSS as much as possible. Here's what I do: Define a H3 tag to be replaced by sIFR3. H3 comes in varying colors by CSS depending on it's container, say body.blue-txt h3{ color: #009CDA; } body.white-txt h3{ color: #FFFFFF; } body.etc... H3 might contain an anchor (I'm aware of semantical issues, but that's just how it is ... sorry) With setting sIFR.useStyleCheck = true; sIFR3 will show replaced normal H3 text with correct color, but when it contains a link, it shows the Flash default #0000FF .... All fine; I can tweak e.g. blue text in sifr-config.js by using the css-parameter for sIFR.replace(): sIFR.replace(futura, { selector: 'body.blue-txt h3', css: 'a {color: #009CDA; }, a:hover { color: #009CDA; text-decoration: underline; }' }); But that would have to be coded for every single text-color in my sIFR replacements in both JS and CSS. So I would want to make the sIFR.useStyleCheck setting just respect the CSS in sifr-config.css like: body.blue-txt h3{ color: #009CDA; } body.blue-txt h3 a{ color: #009CDA; } body.blue-txt h3 a:hover{ color: #009CDA; text-decoration: underline; } Only this doesn't seem to work ... the link text keeps popping up as #0000FF and the hover is not underlined. Is this just Not A Feature (Yet), or am doing something wrong?

  • Using jQuery, setting Draggable on an element prevents blur from firing when you click the draggable

    - by Danno
    Using jQuery, when you set a blur event on a text box and set another element as draggable, when you click the draggable element, the blur event does not fire in FireFox. IE is a little better, you get the blur event but you don't get the click event on the draggable element. If you don't specify the cancel: "" in the draggable constructor, you will get the blur event to fire, but then the element you want to drag is not draggable. jQuery v1.3.2 jQuery UI v1.7.2 The console.log lines are for FireFox's FireBug plugin. <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Blur/Click Workbench</TITLE> <script src="js/jquery.js" type="text/javascript" ></script> <script src="js/ui/ui.core.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/ui/ui.draggable.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function blurring() { console.log('1 - blurring - ' + $( this ).attr('id')); } function clicking() { console.log('2 - clicking - ' + $( this ).attr('id')); } $(document).ready(function() { $( ".draggableTool" ).draggable( { cancel: "" } ); $( '.property' ).blur( blurring ); $( '#labelContainer' ).click( clicking ); }); </script> </HEAD> <BODY> <input type='text' class='property' id='tb1' /> <br /> <input type='text' class='property' id='tb2' /> <br /> <label class='draggableTool' id='labelContainer' style='height:20px;position:absolute;'> <textarea id='taLabel' style='height:100%;background-color:white;border:1px solid grey;'>Label</textarea> </label> </BODY> </HTML>

  • Vote on Pros and Cons of Java HTML to XML cleaners

    - by George Bailey
I am looking to allow HTML emails (and other HTML uploads) without letting in scripts and stuff. I plan to have a white list of safe tags and attributes as well as a whitelist of CSS tags and value regexes (to prevent automatic return receipt). I asked a question: Parse a badly formatted XML document (like an HTML file) I found there are many many ways to do this. Some systems have built in sanitizers (which I don't care so much about). This page is a very nice listing page but I get kinda lost http://java-source.net/open-source/html-parsers It is very important that the parsers never throw an exception. There should always be best guess results to the parse/clean. It is also very important that the result is valid XML that can be traversed in Java. I posted some product information and said Community Wiki. Please post any other product suggestions you like and say Community Wiki so they can be voted on. Also any comments or wiki edits on what part of a certain product is better and what is not would be greatly appreciated. (for example,, speed vs accuracy..) It seems that we will go with either jsoup (seems more active and up to date) or TagSoup (compatible with JDK4 and been around awhile). A +1 for any of these products would be if they could convert all style sheets into inline style on the elements.

  • Make an image transparent in IE to show non-transparent background

    - by Select0r
Hi, I'm trying to get this thing to work in IE (any version - works in FF, Opera, Safari, Chrome ...): I have a DIV with a background-image. The DIV also contains an image that should be transparent onMouseOver. The expected behaviour now is that the DIV-background would shine through the transparent image (which it does in all browsers but IE). Instead it looks like the image is getting transparent but on a white background, I can't see the DIV's background through the image. Here's some code: <div><a href="#" class"dragItem"><img /></a></div> And some CSS: .dojoDndItemOver { cursor : pointer; filter : alpha(opacity = 50); opacity : 0.5; -moz-opacity : 0.5; -khtml-opacity : 0.5; } .dragItem:hover { filter : alpha(opacity = 30); opacity : 0.3; -moz-opacity : 0.3; -khtml-opacity : 0.3; background : none; } All of this is embedded in a Dojo Drag-n-Drop-system, so dojoDndItemOver will automatically be set to the DIV on MouseOver, dragItem is set to the href around the image (using the same class on the image directly doesn't work at all as IE doesn't support "hover" on other items that href). Any ideas? Or is it an IE-speciality to just "simulate" transparency on images by somehow just greying them out instead of providing real transparency and showing whatever is beneath?

  • How do I use a different image for each JQuery UI Slider handle

    - by Tom
I'm using a JQuery UI slider which has two handles (a.k.a range slider). I know how to style the first handle: .ui-slider-horizontal .ui-slider-handle {background: white url(http://stackoverflow.com/content/img/so/vote-arrow-down.png) no-repeat scroll 50% 50%;} But how do I style the second handle differently? Using Firebug I can see Jquery does not uniquely identify each handle: <div id="hourlyRateSlider" class="ui-slider ui-slider-horizontal ui-widget ui-widget-content ui-corner-all"> <div class="ui-slider-range ui-widget-header" style="left: 26%; width: 46%;"/> <a class="ui-slider-handle ui-state-default ui-corner-all" href="#" style="left: 26%;"/> <a class="ui-slider-handle ui-state-default ui-corner-all" href="#" style="left: 72%;"/> </div> So I imagine I have to use either a CSS child selector which could be cross-browser problematic. Or I could use some JQuery trickery to add a CSS class to the second handle? Anyone done this in a neat way before?

  • Experience migrating legacy Cobol/PL1 to Java

    - by MadMurf
ORIGINAL Q: I'm wondering if anyone has had experience of migrating a large Cobol/PL1 codebase to Java? How automated was the process and how maintainable was the output? How did the move from transactional to OO work out? Any lessons learned along the way or resources/white papers that may be of benefit would be appreciated. EDIT 7/7: Certainly the NACA approach is interesting, the ability to continue making your BAU changes to the COBOL code right up to the point of releasing the JAVA version has merit for any organization. The argument for procedural Java in the same layout as the COBOL to give the coders a sense of comfort while familiarizing with the Java language is a valid argument for a large organisation with a large code base. As @Didier points out the $3mil annual saving gives scope for generous padding on any BAU changes going forward to refactor the code on an ongoing basis. As he puts it if you care about your people you find a way to keep them happy while gradually challenging them. The problem as I see it with the suggestion from @duffymo to Best to try and really understand the problem at its roots and re-express it as an object-oriented system is that if you have any BAU changes ongoing then during the LONG project lifetime of coding your new OO system you end up coding & testing changes on the double. That is a major benefit of the NACA approach. I've had some experience of migrating Client-Server applications to a web implementation and this was one of the major issues we encountered, constantly shifting requirements due to BAU changes. It made PM & scheduling a real challenge. Thanks to @hhafez who's experience is nicely put as "similar but slightly different" and has had a reasonably satisfactory experience of an automatic code migration from Ada to Java. Thanks @Didier for contributing, I'm still studying your approach and if I have any Q's I'll drop you a line.

  • DWM and painting unresponsive apps

    - by Doug Kavendek
In Vista and later, if an app becomes unresponsive, the Desktop Window Manager is able to handle redrawing it when necessary (move a window over it, drag it around, etc.) because it has kept a pixel buffer for it. Windows also tries to detect when an app has become unresponsive after some timeout, and tries to make the best of the situation -- I believe it dims out the window, adds "Not Responding" to its title bar, and perhaps some other effects. Now, we have a skinned app that uses window regions and layered windows, and it doesn't play well with these effects. We've been developing on XP, but have noticed a strange effect when testing on Vista. At some points the app may spend a few moments on some calculation or callback, and if it passes the unresponsive threshold (I've read that it's a five second timeout, but I cannot find a link), a strange graphical problem occurs: any pixels that would be 100% transparent due to the window regions turn black, which effectively makes the window rectangular again, with a black background. There seem to be other anomalies, with the original window's pixels being shifted a bit in some child dialogs. I am working on reducing such delays (ideally Windows will never need to step in like this), and trying to maintain responsiveness while it's busy, but I'd still like to figure out what is causing it to render like that, as I can't guarantee I can eliminate all delays. Basically, I just would like to know what Windows is doing when this happens, and how I can make my app behave properly with it. Skinned apps have to still work on Vista and later, so I need to figure out what I'm doing that's non-standard. I don't even know exactly how to look for information into how Windows now handles unresponsive apps, as my searches only return people having issues with apps that are unresponsive, or very rudimentary explanations of what the DWM does with such apps. Heck I'm not even 100% sure it's the DWM responsible, but it seems likely. Any potential leads? Photo of problem; screen shots won't capture the effect (note that the white dialog's buffer is shifted -- it is shifted exactly by the distance it has been offset from the main (blue) window):

  • Pros & Cons of Google App Engine

    - by Rishi
Pros & Cons of Google App Engine [An Updated List 21st Aug 09] Help me Compile a List of all the Advantages & Disadvantages of Building an Application on the Google App Engine Pros: 1) No Need to buy Servers or Server Space (no maintenance). 2) Makes solving the problem of scaling much easier. Cons: 1) Locked into Google App Engine ?? 2)Developers have read-only access to the filesystem on App Engine. 3)App Engine can only execute code called from an HTTP request (except for scheduled background tasks). 4)Users may upload arbitrary Python modules, but only if they are pure-Python; C and Pyrex modules are not supported. 5)App Engine limits the maximum rows returned from an entity get to 1000 rows per Datastore call. 6)Java applications may only use a subset (The JRE Class White List) of the classes from the JRE standard edition. 7)Java applications cannot create new threads. Known Issues!! http://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/list Hard limits Apps per developer - 10 Time per request - 30 sec Files per app - 3,000 HTTP response size - 10 MB Datastore item size - 1 MB Application code size - 150 MB Pro or Con? App Engine's infrastructure removes many of the system administration and development challenges of building applications to scale to millions of hits. Google handles deploying code to a cluster, monitoring, failover, and launching application instances as necessary. While other services let users install and configure nearly any *NIX compatible software, App Engine requires developers to use Python or Java as the programming language and a limited set of APIs. Current APIs allow storing and retrieving data from a BigTable non-relational database; making HTTP requests; sending e-mail; manipulating images; and caching. Most existing Web applications can't run on App Engine without modification, because they require a relational database.

  • Frame Showing Problem

    - by Nitz
Hey Guys I have made one project which is showing the inventory of the stock of one store. In that inventory the software should store data of the products with their images. There is one problem... Bcz of the lots of stock, the screen on which is image is loading taking a lot of time. So, i thought i should give the frame in which there will be on label which will show the "Loading Software". But now when i am setting visible = true for that frame, but bcz of that images screen class loading problem my frame is not showing correctly. I have put screen shot, now my code. JFrame f; try{ f = new JFrame("This is a test"); f.setSize(300, 300); Container content = f.getContentPane(); content.setBackground(Color.white); content.setLayout(new FlowLayout()); JLabel jl = new JLabel(); jl.setText("Loading Please Wait...."); content.add(jl); f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); f.setVisible(true); }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } initComponents(); try { addInverntory = new AddInventoryScreen(); showstock = new showStock(); // this class will take big time. mf = new mainForm(); f.setVisible(false); }catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } How Can show some message that, other class is loading or "Loading Software" kind of thing in this situation. Just For the know....this class is not screen on which the image will load.

  • Why would javascript click-areas not be working in IE8?

    - by Edward Tanguay
I'm trying to find a bug in an old ASP.NET application which causes IE8 to not be able to click on the following "button" area in our application: <td width="150px" class="ctl00_CP1_UiCommandManager1i toolBarItem" valign="middle" onmouseout="onMouseOverCommand(this,1,'ctl00_CP1_UiCommandManager1',0,0);" onmouseover="onMouseOverCommand(this,0,'ctl00_CP1_UiCommandManager1',0,0);" onmousedown="onMouseDownCommand(this, 'ctl00_CP1_UiCommandManager1', 0, 0);" onmouseup="onMouseUpCommand(this, 'ctl00_CP1_UiCommandManager1', 0, 0);" id="ctl00_CP1_UiCommandManager1_0_0"> <span style="width:100%;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis;vertical-align:middle;white-space:nowrap;"> NEW </span> </td> When we switch IE8 to IE7 compatibility mode, the problem disappears, IE7 is able to click on it. Since the above HTML is generated by a third party control (Janus, http://www.janusys.com/controls), we don't have the source code. has anyone experienced any similar problems with IE8? I've determined that it actually fires the onMouseDownCommand command also the CSS of the button area is different in IE8, it doesn't have color shading that it does in IE7. I can imagine that somewhere the HTML is not valid and IE8 being stricter is not playing along, but where? any advice on how to narrow in on this bug welcome ANSWER: Turned out to be that the application was not checking the navigator.agent for "MSIE 8.0" and was thus treating IE8 has a non-Internet-Explorer browser. Thanks Lazarus for the tip, the IE8 Javascript debugger is very nice, like a Firebug for IE, will be using it more!

  • jquery ui-tabs widget , changing the color of the background with css causes problem with display

    - by Ronedog
I'm using the jquery tabs plugin and want to have the background a light grey color. In the css section for tabs, I found this line of code where I manually added the background-color part: .ui-tabs .ui-tabs-panel { padding: 1em 1em; display: block; border-width: 0; background-color:#EEEEEE;} The problem comes as seen in the picture below, where the grey background is only extending down part of the way. I initially thought I could update the div container with the same background color, but it didn't work. It looks like that white portion below might be some kind of padding, so I looked for that in the css but everything I tried had the same effect. Anyone got some ideas? This is what the HTML looks like (Theoretically): <div id="tabs_here"> <ul> <li><a href="#" onclick="$('#T_1').html('Display the data');" >Item Groups</a> </li> </ul> <div id="T_1"></div> </div>

  • Apache Tomcat under Windows: Changing webapps default directory

    - by Maerch
I am deploying my Java application with Ant. Unfortunately my test deployment on the local machine doesn't work because of Vista. The Program Files directionaries are protected and i don't want to start Ant or Eclipse as an Admin. So i had the idea to move my webapps folder to a workspace subfolder, so i can use relative paths in Ant as well. The solutions seems to be to modify the Host element in the server.xml. With Linux it isn't such a deal: <Host name="localhost" appBase="/path/to/webapps" unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false" xmlNamespaceAware="false"> But with Windows i don't get it right. I tried every possible combinations i could imagine, like: C://Users//maerch//Workspaces//Tomcat6.0_webapps C:/Users/maerch/Workspaces/Tomcat6.0_webapps C:\Users\maerch\Workspaces\Tomcat6.0_webapps C:\\Users\\maerch\\Workspaces\\Tomcat6.0_webapps C://Users//maerch//Workspaces//Tomcat6.0_webapps\\ C:/Users/maerch/Workspaces/Tomcat6.0_webapps/ C:\Users\maerch\Workspaces\Tomcat6.0_webapps\ C:\\Users\\maerch\\Workspaces\\Tomcat6.0_webapps\\ The path is also correct, but it doesn't work. There are also no error messages in the log files neither the browser shows a 404 message or anything else. Just a white page without title and so on. Can anyone help?

    - by user1122909
    On my main form I have a toolbar with a number of buttons. Once the parent form is resized down by dragging it so that the entire toolbar with all its buttons no longer fits in the width of the window, the whole toolbar disappears. Is there a way I can make it so that as you resize it, when you get to the width of the toolbar the inner controls of the form stop resizing and stay displayed, just cut off where the window has resized to? Code is <Grid > <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ToolBar Grid.Row="1" Height="50" Name="tbMainToolbar" VerticalAlignment="Top" MinWidth="900" > <ToolBar.Background> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0.5,0" EndPoint="0.5,1"> <GradientStop Color="White" Offset="0.0" /> <GradientStop Color="#DCEBFF" Offset="0.25" /> <GradientStop Color="#99CCFF" Offset="0.75" /> <GradientStop Color="#99CCFF" Offset="1.0" /> </LinearGradientBrush> </ToolBar.Background> <DockPanel LastChildFill="True"> <Button Name="btnApproved" DockPanel.Dock="Left" Click="btnToolbar_Click" CommandParameter="APPROVED" Style="{StaticResource ToolbarButtonDisplay}" HelperClasses:ButtonProperties.Image="..\..\Resources\Images\APPROVEU.GIF" Content="Approve"> </Button> ... and so forth for about 20 buttons

  • jquery ui autocomplete with database

    - by user301766
I fairly new to JQuery and perhaps trying to achieve something that might be abit harder for a beginner. However I am trying to create an autocomplete that sends the current value to a PHP script and then returns the necessary values. Here is my Javascript code $("#login_name").autocomplete({ source: function(request, response) { $.ajax({ url: "http://www.myhost.com/myscript.php", dataType: "jsonp", success: function(data) { alert(data); response($.map(data, function(item) { return { label: item.user_login_name, value: item.user_id } })) } }) }, minLength: 2 }); And here is the the last half of "myscript.php" while($row = $Database->fetch(MYSQLI_ASSOC)) { foreach($row as $column=>$val) { $results[$i][$column] = $val; } $i++; } print json_encode($results); Which produces the following output [{"user_id":"2","user_login_name":"Name1"},{"user_id":"3","user_login_name":"Name2"},{"user_id":"4","user_login_name":"Name3"},{"user_id":"5","user_login_name":"Name4"},{"user_id":"6","user_login_name":"Name5"},{"user_id":"7","user_login_name":"Name6"}] Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong please? Starting to get quite frustrated. The input box just turns "white" and no options are shown. The code does work if I specify an array of values.

  • Determine whether a canvas has been inserted into each page

    - by Hadi Teo
Hi, Currently i have a code which will print OMR Mark on each pages. Basically i insert a canvas into each page and subsequently an OMR Mark Line Series are inserted into the canvas. Recently i found an issue that somehow one of the canvas is placed out of a page and it appears at the previous page instead of the current page. Below is the code snippet in how i inserted canvas as well as OMR Marks into each page: ' Start Code Snippet Sub GenerateOMR() Dim ShpCanvas As Shape Dim MaxPages As Integer Dim PNo As Integer ClearOMR MaxPages = Selection.Information(wdNumberOfPagesInDocument) For PNo = 1 To MaxPages Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToPage, Which:=wdGoToFirst, Count:=PNo, Name:="" Select Case PNo Case 1 Set ShpCanvas = ActiveDocument.Shapes.AddCanvas(0, 0.5, 600, 300) Case Else Set ShpCanvas = ActiveDocument.Shapes.AddCanvas(0, 0, 600, 300) End Select ' Add a canvas on each page With ShpCanvas .Name = "OMR_Canvas_" & CStr(PNo) .RelativeHorizontalPosition = wdRelativeHorizontalPositionPage .RelativeVerticalPosition = wdRelativeVerticalPositionPage End With ' Insert a white background rectange and remove the rectangle border line With ShpCanvas.CanvasItems.AddShape(msoShapeRectangle, 536, 0, 64, 300) .Name = "OMR_WhiteBackground_" & CStr(PNo) .Fill.ForeColor.RGB = RGB(255, 255, 255) .Line.ForeColor.RGB = RGB(255, 255, 255) End With PrintOMRPage ShpCanvas, PNo Next PNo End Sub ' End Code Snippet There is a custom method called PrintOMRPage method which is not relevant here. My question now, how do i know whether a canvas has been inserted into a page ? Basically i will loop in all the pages and check whether a canvas has been inserted into that page. Apparently i cannot find the correct way. I have tried to check using ActiveDocument.Shapes(1).Top and validate whether the Top position is a negative value. But apparently the Top position is always measured from the top of each page. Thanks for the help. hadi teo

  • Missing WM_PAINT when hosting a WPF control inside a winforms application.

    - by Boris
Hi All, Consider the following scenario: 1) Create a winforms application with an empty form. 2) Create a WPF usercontrol in the same project which is just the default control with background changed to blue. <UserControl x:Class="WindowsFormsApplication2.UserControl1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Height="300" Width="300" Background="Blue"> <Grid> </Grid> </UserControl> 3) Build the project 4) Add the control to your form (an ElementHost is added and the control is added inside it). 5) Run the application (everything looks nice) 6) Start Spy++, click find window (Control+F) and move the cursor onto the WPF control (the blue square) Something strange happens, the control gets a WM_ERASEBKGND message but no WM_PAINT message so now it is white. You can resize the form, hide the form behind other windows and the WPF control will not get rendered. There is an image of the scenario here: http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/2296/wmpaint.png This is a simplified example of the situation I have in the actual application. Please tell me what is the best way to resolve this issue such that the WPF control renders itself correctly. I would like a solution that can be incorporated into a large application with many controls on the form. Thank you very much in advance, Boris
