  • Android canceling all alarm set

    Hi all. I am making an event application and user can set a reminder for events he wants. So i use the alarmManager to create alarms. I would like to put a cancel all option to my main activity so that i could cancel all the alarms created by my application. The usual method for canceling the alarm with the same intent doesnt really help cause i set tha alarms on a different activity than the one I want to cancel them in. So is there a way to cancel all the alarms created by my application? Thanks!

    Is there a way to set foreign key relationship using the integer id of a model? This would be for optimization purposes. For example, suppose I have an Employee model: class Employee(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) last_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) type = models.ForeignKey('EmployeeType') and EmployeeType(models.Model): type = models.CharField(max_length=100) I want the flexibility of having unlimited employee types, but in the deployed application there will likely be only a single type so I'm wondering if there is a way to hardcode the id and set the relationship this way. This way I can avoid a db call to get the EmployeeType object first.

  • "set -e" in shell and command substitution

    In shell scripts set -e is often used to make them more robust by stopping the script when some of the commands executed from the script exits with non-zero exit code. It's usually easy to specify that you don't care about some of the commands succeeding by adding || true at the end. The problem appears when you actually care about the return value, but don't want the script to stop on non-zero return code, for example: output=$(possibly-failing-command) if [ 0 == $? -a -n "$output" ]; then ... else ... fi Here we want to both check the exit code (thus we can't use || true inside of command substitution expression) and get the output. However, if the command in command substitution fails, the whole script stops due to set -e. Is there a clean way to prevent the script from stopping here without unsetting -e and setting it back afterwards?

    Using WATIR and Excel, I'd like to take the first row of a table in Excel, visit the URL, then set the 12th link on the page as a variable in the cell next to the cell with the URL, then go to the next line and repeat. I'm stuck on getting the URL of the 12th link on the page to set as a variable that I can feed into the next cell in Excel.     Hi I have DateTimePicker on my form and I set a value to the custom format property to "dd/MM/yyyy" ant when I run this code: MessageBox.Show(dateTimePicker1.Value.ToString()); I get this value : "3/26/2010 1:26 PM". How I can remove the time part from value. I know we can use this method dateTimePicker1.Value.ToShortDateString(); but I want to set the value property to this format "dd/MM/yyyy" so the output will be like this "26/3/2010", because I want to store the value in my DB (SQL) How I can do that?

    Hi, heres the problem explanation: Im on the domain https://www.example.com - theres an Order-Form with the Action https://www.example-otherdomain.com with an other SSL Certificate. On some conditions i set the form action to https://www.example.com so that it will be posted on our domain, but if the user uses a CreditCart it should get posted to https://www.example-otherdomain.com. So far so good. But in some rare conditions, users with CreditCards still posts their form to https://www.example.com. So my idea is: Is there some Same-Domain-Policy for Javascript/HTTPS to protect the user from phishing? It seems that to set the FormAction to the same domain works, but not to reset it to the external one (with JS). I cant reproduce this error, so im asking here if someone knows if theres such a problem. It doesnt matter which UserAgent the user has (there are post datas from FF, Chrome, Webkit, IE7/8) Thx!

  • Selecting item from set given distribution

    I have a set of X items such as {blower, mower, stove} and each item has a certain percentage of times it should be selected from the overall set {blower=25%,mower=25%,stove=75%} along with a certain distribution that these items should follow (blower should be selected more at the beginning of selection and stove more at the end). We are given a number of objects to be overall selected (ie 100) and a overall time to do this in (say 100 seconds). I was thinking of using a roulette wheel algorithm where the weights on the wheel are affected by the current distribution as a function of the elapsed time (and the allowed duration) so that simple functions could be used to determine the weight. Are there any common approaches to problems like this that anyone is aware of? Currently i have programmed something similar to this in java using functions such as x^2 (with correct normalization for the weights) to ensure that a good distribution occurs. Other suggestions or common practices would be welcome :-)

I am using this label in TableViewCell along with UILabel.i set UILabel & StyleLabel background color is set to clearColor. UILabel works fine, but StyleLabel shows background in blackColor. I am not sure what is the problem with the following code.   • Can't set element ID in JavaScript, it's always undefined

    Hi, I want to have a function that generates ID's on the fly for a given jquery object, if it doesn't have one already. These ID's should then be used in future requests. I came up with the code below, but it doesn't work. The ID's are never set. The commented out alert statement below always return undefined. I always pass code like $(this) or $(options.el) as a parameter to substitute 'el'. Initially, the elements do not have explicitly ID set in HTML.     In an iPhone navigation based app, I want to add a second tableview but have its design available in IB. I've added a new empty XIB and dragged a UITableView onto it. I want to setup the layout through IB. I've created a controller for this tableview and set the File's Owner class in IB to this controller. I linked the tableview to File's Owner as well. I set the tableview to grouped in IB. However, that does not translate at runtime. I still have a plain tableview. In fact, none of the Inspector settings work at runtime. What have I missed?

Im kinda stuck with using a set with a pointer delegate. my code is as follows: void Graph::addNodes (NodeSet& nodes) { for (NodeSet::iterator pos = nodes.begin(); pos != nodes.end(); ++pos) { addNode(*pos); } } Here NodeSet is defined as: typedef std::set NodeSet; The above piece of code works perfectly on my windows machine, but when i run the same piece of code on a MAC, it gives me the following error: no matching function for call to 'Graph::addNode(const boost::shared_ptr&)' FYI, Node_ptr is of type: typedef boost::shared_ptr Node_ptr; can somebody plz tell me why this is happening?

    I have a script that links to the server I am hosting (IP can change) usually I would just use for links: var url ='http://' + window.location.hostname + 'end of url'; But in this case it isnt appearing to be so easy. I have tried: (1) $('#scriptid').attr('src', url); as well as: (2) var script = document.createElement( 'script' ); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = url; $("#insert").append( script ); Now case (2) works loads the script runs the script. But when at the end of my script it hits the 'write data' it decides to replace the entire page with just the data. Any idea on how I can do this?

    I have made a Java Swing Desktop application in Netbeans which can play media files I have put the videos in my workspace resources location and in my java program I am calling those media files using an URL which is something like this: C:/users/Dell/My Documents /NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg This works well when I run in my IDE and also i have made Jar for this it works well on my computer but the problem is when i copy this jar file on my friends system the interface is coming but when I click a button to play a media file it says: C:/users/Dell/MyDocuments/NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg does not exist So, please provide me a solution of how to set the default path so that when I run a jar file on other systems it should play the media file location I am passing as in my program. How to set the path for the location of media files in program? Update The videos are in the jar file.

    Hi Please advise on how to merge two results in to one using SQL Server 2005. I have the situation where an Account can have up to two Settlement Instructions and this have been modeled like so: The slim-ed down schema: Account --------------------- Id AccountName PrimarySettlementId (nullable) AlternateSettlementId (nullable) SettlementInstruction ---------------------- Id Name The output I want is a single result set with a select statement something along the lines of this which will allow me to construct some java objects in my Spring row mapper: select Account.Id as accountId, Account.AccountName as accountName, s1.Id as primarySettlementId, s1.Name as primarySettlementName, s2.Id as alternateSettlementId, s2.Name as alternateSettlementName I've tried various things but cannot find a way to get the result set merged in to one where the primary and alternate FK's are not null. Finally I have searched the forum, but nothing quite seems to fit with what I need.
