  • knife azure image list doesn't return User image

    I'm trying to create and bootstrap a Windows VM in Azure using knife-azure. I initially tried using a Public Win 2008 r2 image, but quickly found out that winrm needs to be configured before this can work. So, I created a VM from that image, configured winrm as per these instructions and captured the VM. The problem is that the image does not show up when executing knife azure image list. When I try creating the server with the image name from the Azure portal, it complains that it does not exist. I'm running Ubuntu, so I tried the Azure cli tools and it doesn't show there either. I installed Azure PS in a Win 8 VM and then it shows up. Feeling encouraged, I installed Chef and knife-azure in the Win 8 VM, but it doesn't show up there either. How do I get my User image to show in knife azure?

    I'm trying to install a package on my Ubuntu 8.10 server. However, I get this message: The following packages have unmet dependencies. webmin: Depends: apt-show-versions but it is not going to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try ‘apt-get -f install’ with no packages (or specify a solution). So I run apt-get -f install which offers to install apt-show-versions and libapt-pkg-perl.     How does news applications work other than RSS Feed based applications? I know some of them take the RSS content from the source site.But sometimes I see, those applications show - Title Description Date Image video etc. Even though when I see the original site's rss, image, video is not there in rss. So how does one get that to show in there applications? Some applications even shows feeds from magazine sites, newspaper sites. How do these applications work? I am creating an application which will link to different news sites feeds categorized (like top news, technology, games, articles etc.) On the front page it will show the website names, then on selection of any news site it will get the feed from that website and show it to user. So I would like to know All the fetching of data from should be done on user selection or data should be prefetched? Detailed information I want to fetch from the original like provided in the rss data. How should I go about it?

    Andrew's answer to my comment has sparked this question. According to his awesome answer in the link above, the code at the bottom of the question will only work for ONE widget. But it's killer nice code and makes sense... I guess I want the best of both worlds. Nice JS, (if that is possible) and to have the zero results show() just the element that we're using at the time.   • Having different database sorting order (default_scope) for two different views

    In my model (pins.rb), I have two sorting orders: default_scope order: 'pins.featured DESC' #for adding featured posts to the top of a list default_scope order: 'pins.created_at DESC' #for adding the remaining posts beneath the featured posts This sorting order (above) is how I want my 'pins view' (index.html.erb) to look. Which is just a list of ALL user posts. In my 'users view' (show.html.erb) I am using the same model (pins.rb) to list only current_user pins. HOWEVER, I want to sorting order to ignore the "featured" default scope and only use the second scope: default_scope order: 'pins.created_at DESC' How can I accomplish this? I tried doing something like this: default_scope order: 'pins.featured DESC', only: :index default_scope order: 'pins.created_at DESC' But that didn't fly...   • jquery hover not working properly other than IE6

    Hi All, We developed navigation bar using jQuery 1.4.2. Functionality is to show submneus for different menu items when user hovers on it. It is working perfectly in IE6 but we see some weird problems in other browsers. In Firefox, when the page gets loaded, it works fine but when we hit f5, the submenu wont appear on hover. To get submenu we need to click on any other menu item. In Chrome, its the same to add on, some time even we click on any menu item, and hover submenu wont show up. In Safari, nothing shows up most of the times, but on clicking 5-6 menu items, submenu is shown.When we see loading text in safari it shows the submenu. but on every click the loading text wont appear.. We are very much confused..is it the browser behavior/code/jquery??     I am beginning the process of moving away from the AjaxControlToolkit and toward jQuery. What I want to do is have one function that duplicates the functionality of the CollapsiblePanelExtender.     Hi I have a page that has a Dropdown control (ddlDeliveryMethod). So that when the user selects particular option from the Dropdown(using MOUSE), the respective Div ID's are loaded. But instead of Mouse, if we simply use the arrow keys from Keyboard, the respective DIV ID's are not showing. Is there any workaround for this. Appreciate your responses.     I've got this table: <table id="correctness" style="overflow: hidden;"> <tr><td style="overflow: hidden;"> <div id="correctness-message"></div> <span class="hide"> <button type="button" class="hide" onclick="new DisplayEffect('correctness').Hide(500);">Hide</button> </span> </td> </tr> </table> and a function for resizing the table: function resize(element, size) { element.style.height = size + "px";}; which is called for a certain amount of time (e.g. 1 second) with the ID of table (i.e. "correctness") in order to resize the table from zero height to its full height. This code works in Firefox and Chrome but it doesn't work in IE8. What it does is that it displays right away whole table even thought the height set in "resize" method is much lower. It seems that the cell sets the height of parent table and not the other way around. Is it possible to change the behaviour? I like changing the height of the table better because I can set visibility of the table easily. Thanks for any help!

  • jQuery slideDown: Parent element doesn't expand?

    Hi, This issue occurs in our beloved Internet Explorer 7: I have a list of items, each with a hidden child div. When user clicks the "expand" button in any list item, the hidden div will expand downwards and push all content beneith it lower. This works just as it should in FF, Chrome, IE8 - but IE7 will not expand the parent element along with its children. This is noticeable because the top-most parent container has an absolutely positioned image at the very bottom (yea... rounded corners) - that doesn't get pushed down when the content expands. I'm guessing that's because of the absolute positioning... Just wondering whether I should attempt to code up some huge workaround in jQuery just for that (assuming I'm able to), or if this is a known issue of some sort.     I have got a quite strange problem here. I am developing an IM software and need to play audio files recorded by another client on Android. The same audio file I've got can be played with AVAudioPlayer on 3GS(IOS 4.2.1) device and simulator 4.2. But when I tried by play it on iPhone4(iOS 4.3.3), the function "play" always return NO. I also tried with two iPhone devices, the audio files recorded by iPhone client can be played on both 3GS and iPhone4. So I asked the Android developers about the record parameters they've used. They said that the "AudioEncoder" used by them was "DEFAULT".     This is kind of a follow on from a previous question I posted but I've not been able to get it to work.. I'm trying to use multiple sets of tabs (jQuery) on one page. This is the code I had for one set of tabs which works great: $('div.tabs div.tab').hide(); $('div.tabs div:first').show(); $('div.tabs ul.htabs li:first a').addClass('current'); $('div.tabs ul.htabs li a').click(function(){ $('div.tabs ul.htabs li a').removeClass('current'); $(this).addClass('current'); var currentTab = $(this).attr('href'); $('div.tabs div.tab').hide(); $(currentTab).show(); return false; }); To use more than one set on the page I assigned #id's to each tab-set and tried to impliment this with: $.each(['#tabs-1', '#tabs-2', '#tabs-3' ], function(id) { $(id + 'div.tab').hide(); $(id + 'div:first').show(); $(id + 'ul.htabs li:first a').addClass('current'); $(id + 'ul.htabs li a').click(function(){ $(id + 'ul.htabs li a').removeClass('current'); $(this).addClass('current'); var currentTab = $(this).attr('href'); $(id + 'div.tab').hide(); $(currentTab).show(); return false; }); }); Obviously I'm doing something wrong here but as a jQuery newcomer I'm stumped!

    I've got a masterpage with some nice UI (jQuery) features. One of these options is interefering with my embedded YouTube (or other alike-) objects. On each, in this case, setInterval event the embedded video stops displaying new frames (for like a second). More detail: I've got a "polaroid" gallery (in the header) with only 5 100x100 images in it (test: preloading has no effect on performance) and my gallery will show or hide them (fade-in / fade-out) after a period of time. (test: non-animated display:hide or display:block has no effect on performance). After some testing and I've come to the conclusion that it isn't the "animated" showing or hiding of the pictures, but it's the interval itself (- since altering to display:hide or block had the same result).   • jQuery Accordian

    Just wondering if anyone can provide some basic advice on an accordion I'm trying to simplify. Got a working version, but it seems way overly complex. Here is my new JS. $(document).ready(function() { $("#themes li ul").hide(); $("#themes li").hover(function() { $("ul").show(); }, function() { $("li ul").hide(); }); The markup looks like this: <ul> <li>Tier 1 <ul> <li>Tier 2</li> <li>Tier 2</li> </ul> </li> <li>Tier 1 <ul> <li>Tier 2</li> <li>Tier 2</li> </ul> </li> </ul> My script works alright. But it shows all of the child ul's when any parent li is hovered, and it hide's all the child ul's when unhovered. Just not sure how I can get it to A.) Only .show the li ul when that specific li is hovered. And B.) Hide the show'n li ul only when another one is hovered (not itself). Example + explanation would be especially helpful! Thanks!!

    I have two links with classes (login-form and register-form) relevant to their target forms ID, they want to toggle. I have also a predefined 'slideToggle' function to toggle better. This is what I have tried so far: $('#userbar a').click(function() { var c = $(this).attr('class'); $('#userbar a').removeClass('active'); $(this).toggleClass('active'); $('#register-form,#login-form').hide(); //bad, causing flashy $('#' + c).slideToggle('slow'); return false; }); With this I have trouble with the flashy window, and to correctly toggle the active classes when another link is clicked, the other link should not have active class anymore. Additional problem is the link is dead on serial clicks. I have another try, longer one: $('#userbar a').click(function() { var c = $(this).attr('class'); switch (c) { case 'login-form': $('#' + c).slideToggle('slow'); $(this).toggleClass('active'); $('#register-form').hide(); break; case 'register-form': $('#' + c).slideToggle('slow'); $(this).toggleClass('active'); $('#login-form').hide(); break; } return false; }); This one is worse than the first :( Any suggestion to correct the behavior? What I want is when a link with class login-form is click, so toggle the form with ID login-form, and hide the register-form if open. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Now assume we're limited to HTTP GET. Is there some kind of a standard solution for encoding structured data in HTTP GET request parameters?   • jQuery removing elements from DOM put still reporting as present

    Hi, I have an address finder system whereby a user enters a postcode, if postcode is validated then an address list is returned and displayed, they then select an address line, the list dissappears and then the address line is split further into some form inputs. The issue i am facing is when they have been through the above process then cleared the postcode form field, hit the find address button and the address list re-appears. Event though the list and parent tr have been removed from the DOM it is still reporting it is present as length 1?   • JQuery Tabbed Nav Menu and PHP Forms Question?

    I'm using a JQuery Tabbed Menu which holds different types of forms and when I select a different form located under a different tab and submit the form the tab will jump to the default tab instead of the current tab the form is located in. I was wondering how would I go about fixing this so that when the form is submitted the current tab is still selected, is it the JQuery or PHP problem?
