• How to get rid of Drupal CSS stylesheets?

  I am trying to accomplish the following. I need to use Drupal 6 as a project requirement, but I want to use it with my own HTML and CSS stylesheets for each node/view/panel etc. The problem is, whatever the theme, I always found that Drupal applies to my HTML content both my CSS stylesheets and the CSS related to the theme chosen. I have also tried, without success, using the stylestripper module (installed in sites/all/modules). No matter what I do, additional CSS stylesheets are applied to my pages, completely destroying my layout. What is the proper way to achieve this? Why stylestripper does not work at all? Is there a completely blank theme available? I have tried basic, mothership, zen etc, but I always see additional CSS stylesheets applied to my pages. This is driving me crazy, Drupal was chosen by someone else for its flexibility. Thank you in advance.

  Consider the following method signature: public static bool TryGetPolls(out List<Poll> polls, out string errorMessage) This method performs the following: accesses the database to generate a list of Poll objects. returns true if it was success and errorMessage will be an empty string returns false if it was not successful and errorMessage will contain an exception message. Is this good style? Update: Lets say i do use the following method signature: public static List<Poll> GetPolls() and in that method, it doesn't catch any exceptions (so i depend the caller to catch exceptions). How do i dispose and close all the objects that is in the scope of that method? As soon as an exception is thrown, the code that closes and disposes objects in the method is no longer reachable.

• Mercurial hg clone error - "abort: error: Name or service not known"

  I have installed the latest hg package available for Fedora Linux. However, hg clone reports an error. hg clone http://localmachine001:8000/ repository reports: "abort: error: Name or service not known" localmachine001 is a computer within the local network. I can ping it from my Linux box without any problems. I can also use the same http address and browse the existing code. However, hg clone does not work. If I execute the same command from my Macintosh machine, I can easily clone the repository. Some Internet resources recommend editing .hgrc file, and adding proxy to it: [http_proxy] host=proxy:8080 I have tried that without any success. Also, I assume that proxy is not needed in this case, since the hg server machine is in my local network. Can anyone recommend me what should I do, or how could I track the problem? • ssms cannot connect to default sql server instance without specifying port number

  I have multiple SQL Server 2005 instances on a box. From SSMS on my desktop I can connect to that box's named instances with no problem. After some recent network configuration changes, when I want to connect to the default instance from SSMS on my desktop, I have to specify the port number. Before the network changes, I did not have to specify the port number of the default instance. If I remote to any other box (including the one in question), and use that box's SSMS to connect to that default instance, success. From my desktop, and only from my desktop, I have to specify the port number. Is it a SQL Server configuration that I've missed? Is it possible something in my PC's configuration is getting in the way? Where would I look, or what could I pass on to the network folks to help them resolve this? Any help is appreciated.

• Help make sense of a KillDisk error/log

  I have a hard drive that I've been trying to reformat. I tried reformatting it in the windows XP and 7 installers, and in an Ubuntu live cd with gparted. I tried using dd to 'zero' the drive as well with no success. Finally I ran across KillDisk after a search. Now I would like to change submit method from <input type="submit" id="testClick" value="Submit" /> To some javascript method DoSubmit(). What I tried is : Invoke click on that submit button Invoke submit on form ('form1').submit(), document.forms['form1'].submit() jQuery forms with ('form1').AjaxSubmit(); Create jQuery AJAX $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: $("#form1").attr("action"), data: $("#form1").serialize(), success: function() { alert("epic win!!!1!1!") }, error: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert("epic fail!") } }); All those method created normal request (not AJAX), or they didn't work. • Modal View Controller Undesirably Hides Tab Bar

  I am working on an application that requires user authentication to access a profile. The profile section is located solely under one tab (and all others tabs do not require authentication). I currently present a authentication view controller modally (and then dismiss on success) when the user selects the profile tab. However, this approach prevents the user from deciding not to register / login (that is, all tabs are hidden once the authentication screen is presented modally). I don't want the user to be able to dismiss the modal view controller, but rather have it modal only for the profile tab. Is this possible? Can I have tabs visible while having a modal view controller? What is the best approach here. Thanks.

  Hi, I have this big function that gets a lot of different data and insert it into multiple tables.. Not all the data is always available so not all the SQL INSERT queries are successful. I need to check which SQL INSERT query was fully successful and which wasn't to the do something with this data (like inserting into a log table or similar). Just to give you an example of how I think it can be done: $sql = 'INSERT INTO data_table (ID, column1, column2) VALUES(?, ?, ?)'; if ($stmt->prepare($sql)) { $stmt->bind_param('iss', $varID, $var1, $var2); if ($stmt->execute()) { $success == TRUE; //or something like that } } I'm not completely sure this is the best way and if its always really show if the data was inserted into the table... Any suggestions??

• Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject - why are my files always locked (by me!) when I try to open them

  Hi all, I'm trying to use Interop to manipulate MS Project 2003 (MPP) files. My problem is that MS Project reports that the files is already opened by another user (me!) and that I can open it only as read-only. Obviously, I've tried to restart studio, then windows (xp) but with no effect. The file attribute for Readonly is cleared on the file. Any suggestions for what I might try?! • How to use jQuery .each() - I get a value, but it's the wrong one

  I am returning a JSON object (as a String) through a servlet. The JSON object looks like this: {"3":"Martin Luther","30":"Boris Becker","32":"Joseph Goebels","19":"Leonardo Da Vinci","31":"Adolf Hitler"} My jQuery looks like this (the submission of data is correct because I get a proper looking result from the servlet): $.ajax( { type : "GET", url : "MyServlet", data : queryString + "count=" + variables, success : function(resultObj) { $.each(resultObj, function(key, value) { $("#resultCount").html(key+", "+value); }); } }); However when I try to print the results, that is the variables key and value, I get a number for the key but not a number from the JSONObject and an empty string instead of the value. Essentially the question is about how to "extract" the information from a JSON object.

  I am using jQuery to make an AJAX call to a ruby method in my controller. The javascript looks something like this: var latLongJSON = { "address": [ {"lat" : 50, "long" : 50} ] }; var returnedAddresses; $.ajax({ type: "GET", data: latLongJSON, url: "map/getaddresses", success: function(data) { returnedAddresses = JSON.parse(data); } }); Then in my 'getaddresses' method, my parameter coming through looks like: Parameters: {"address"=>"[object Object]"} I'm not sure what to do with this. I'm fairly new to Ruby, and I'm not sure if I need to convert this to something else, or what. Ideally I want to be able to pass in multiple sets of lat/long in the 'address' array, then be able to iterate over those in my Ruby code.

• Google Maps API Geocode gives error "Invalid label" in Firefox

Also, other json data works fine, for instance flickr ("http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=cat&tagmode=any&format=json&jsoncallback=?). • Server side caching doesn't work with HttpHandler

  If we use an aspx page with a Caching Profile, the server caches images that are loaded with the aspx page. So if ten clients load the same image through the aspx page (same url), for one client the image is gotten out of the db, for the nine others it is cached. When we use a HttpHandler, this doesn't happen. The image is always fetched from the database. We have tried all different settings without any success. (we have checked this link and have not been able to cache on server side).

I've had some success with using Yahoo Pipe's Fetch Feed Source, but was wondering if it's possible to do this entirely in YQL. Any ideas?

• jQuery .ajax() call to page method works in FF only when async is false

  I'm calling a page method using .ajax() and it works in IE8 whatever the value of async is. However, in FF3.6, it only works with async set to false. When async is set to true, in Firebug, I just see status aborted. The page validates. • MapViewOfFile shared between 32bit and 64bit processes

  Hi, I'm trying to use MapViewOfFile in a 64 bit process on a file that is already mapped to memory of another 32 bit process. It fails and gives me an "access denied" error. Is this a known Windows limitation or am I doing something wrong? Same code works fine with 2 32bit processes.   Our application is based on Oracle 11g database its drivers already installed but application throws an error on runtime. "AppliMSP.ADOcommands.GetConnected Error while connecting, Provider cannot be found, It may not be properly installed." I am using OraOLEDB.oracle provider. This provider work properly on other module (Administration) of this application but as I want to connect as client with same name and password I get above error. I have tried with MSDAORA(Oracle) but I don't get any success. Can anyone help me?

• Calling Oracle Function with "complex" return value from C#

  I have an Oracle function returning record defined in the package, so one can do: select a,b,c FROM my_function(...); Calling this oracle function from .NET is as simple as executing normal sql query. Unfortunately the function has to do updates now and when it is called like this Oracle complains that updates are not allowed within selects and that makes sense. So now I am left with the choice to change the function call or to split the function. Basically I have to get rid of the select in the function call and need something like this in C#: EXEC :var:= my_func(...); where the type of var is custom tuple defined in the package. I have already tried using ParameterDirection.ReturnValue without success. Does anyone have an idea?

  I have been using the Django Messaging Framework to display messages to a user in the template. I am outputting them to the template like this: <ul> {% for message in messages %} <li{% if message.tags %} class="{{ message.tags }}"{% endif %}>{{ message }}</li> {% endfor %} </ul> This outputs all the messages, errors, warning, success etc. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas how to display only the error messages something like: <ul> {% for message in messages.errors %} <li>{{ message }}</li> {% endfor %} </ul> Any ideas? • Can you clear jquery ajax cache?

  Hi I am wondering is it possible to clear the cache from a particular ajax method? Say if I have this $.ajax({ url: "test.html", cache: true, success: function(html){ $("#results").append(html); } }); Now 99% of the time a cached result can be used since it should always be same content. However if a user updates this content it of course changes. If it is cached and it would still show the old content. So it would be cool if I could pick out this cache for this method and clear it and all other cached stuff would stay. Can this be done?
