• How to include text files with Executable Jar

  Hi guys rookie Java question. I have a Java project and I want to include a text file with the executable jar. Right now the text file is in the default package. InputFlatFile currentFile = new InputFlatFile("src/theFile.txt"); I grab the file with that line as you can see using src. However this doesn't work with the executable jar. Can someone please let me know how to keep this file with the executable jar so someone using the program can just click a single icon and run the program. Thanks!

• clicking the debug button in Eclipse will not start debug mode

  i am running Eclipse 3.5.0 on a MacBook Pro using the Android SDK. i noticed that on this particular project i am working on i cant seem to actually enter debug mode. i click the little green bug icon in the tool bar and the app starts and runs. but if i switch over to the Debug Perspective i see no indication that it is running in debug mode. furthermore i can not hit any brake points that i have set. this makes debugging code a bit hard. Other projects that i am working on don't have this issue. any ideas on what i need to change in the project to get this to work?

• TFS: How to dectet changed files when loading a solution?

  I am new to TFS integration with Visual Studio 2010, and I have a problem I would like to solve. Practically, when I open a solution, how can I detect, looking only at the Solution Explorer which file has been changed since my last login? I am able to discover the changed files if I look at the Latest column of Source Control Explorer but it is not so intuitive. I attach you an image for better understanding. I would like to have a different icon, not the lock, for frmAbout.vb (in this case), associated to the item in Solution Explorer. Do you have any idea how can I achieve this behavior? Or some alternatives?

• Calling CONTENT_SCRIPT JS From BROWSER_ACTION Popup HTML

  I'm working on a Google Chrome Extension and would like to get an HTML from within my popup HTML to call functions within my loaded javascript file. • iPhone Provisioning Profile problems...

  I have already successfully submitted two apps to the app store, so I should be able to do it by now, right? With my most recent app, however, I'm having a bear of a time with getting the Application Identifier or Bundle Identifier set up. In my distribution profile, I have included the identifier "com.jmock.irowbeta", and then copied it exactly into the the app's Info.plist file under "Bundle Identifier". In the past, this has done the trick, but now I'm getting the error Provisioning profile 'irow beta' specificies the identifier 'com.jmock.irowbeta' which doesn't match the current setting 'com.yourcompany.irow-beta'. So it seems that its somehow still using the default of com.yourcompany.APPLICATION_NAME, but it shouldn't after I have changed it in the Info.plist, right? I think this means that xcode isn't recognizing that PLIST for some reason, because when I change the name of the icon file, for example, or other such attributes, nothing changes. If this is the problem, how do I make xcode recognize the PLIST? Otherwise, what the heck is going on? Thanks, James

• Layout components Horizontally in Android

  Greetings all, I am trying to create a layout in Android for a notification. My goal is to have the following displayed: 1: Icon for the app 2: Vertically stacked LinearLayout with Session title and Room to be held in 3: The start time of the session The problem I am facing is that #2 has a variable width depending on the size of the title. Hardcoding a width would look terrible if the user turns the handset sideways and goes into Landscape mode. Therefore here is my question: How can I layout three components horizontally in Android such that #1 and #3 are left and right aligned respectively, and #2 simply takes the space remaining? To include a .vsprops file in a Visual Studio 2008 project, one could right-click the project icon in the Solution Explorer panel, choose Properties, go to the Configuration Properties | General section, and modify the Inherited Project Property Sheets property to contain a list of .vsprops paths. One could also modify the Visual Studio 2008 project file directly. Is there a way in the Visual Studio 2010 GUI to include .props files to a project? The Inherited Project Property Sheets property seems to have been removed. If manual editing of the project file is the only way to include .props files, where can one find documentation on doing it? I'm not talking about adding a .props file to the list of files in the project, I mean how do I tell the project to use a .props file.

  I am using an AdvancedDataGrid with two GroupingFields. The dataProvider has a list of objects with these two field values, but occasionally the second field value can be null. When it loads, the AdvancedDataGrid UI has a root folder (first GroupingField) and some additional subfolders (second GroupingField). This is all good. However, the objects with a null value for the second GroupingField, just get placed in a subfolder with no label. I want the objects with a null second GroupingField value to appear as leaf nodes beneath the root folder (first GroupingField) minus the blank subfolder. A good way to picture this would be a file explorer. Is there a good way to do this? Make the folder icon disappear maybe after expanding this node through actionscript? • Using Add-on SDK to add toolbar buttons? Integrating XUL and Add-on SDK for Firefox Add-ons?

  I have already coded most of a Firefox add-on using the Add-on SDK API. I am now discovering that Add-on SDK might not be powerful enough for my purposes. I need two things: A drop down button in the toolbar next to the location bar. To modify the add-ons manager in firefox It is truly disappointing, but I don't believe either of these is possible with the Add-on SDK. First of all, I understand there is a widget module in the Add-on SDK API. But this only allows me to add a simple icon or label to the awkward add-on bar. What if I need to add a nicer button like the one next to the location bar for Firebug or Greasemonkey? As for modifying the add-ons manager in firefox, I have tried Nickolay Ponomarev's XUL with the Add-on SDK without any success whatsoever. If anyone knows how to get this working and can point me in the right direction that would be extremely helpful (cfx init --template xul doesn't do anything the regular SDK does when I try it)

• Android SDK and AVD manager will not run from Eclipse after upgrade to SDK 5 and ADT 0.9.6

  Using Windows 7, 64 bit system. Prior to upgrade I was able to run "Android SDK and AVD manager" from Eclipse via a tool bar icon and menu option, both of which still exist. However now nothing happens when I try to run the manager. As a result I can't start an emulator from within Eclipse. When I use Eclipse to run an Android app, the first emulator I installed is automatically started. Using Windows Explorer, I can still run the manager from the SDK directory in which the update was applied (the update didn't change the location of the SDK). If I run the manager and start multiple emulators and then Run an app from Eclipse, it sees the emulators and allows me to choose one as before. This is a satisfactory work-around, but it would be nice if the manager were fully integrated into Eclipse as it was before.

• Core Plot on iPad Runs with Debugger, not Standalone

  Hey guys, Thanks to Ole Begemann, I spent yesterday digging around in Core Plot to explore adding graphing to an iPad application that I've been working on. I was fairly satisfied with it, and wanted to show it off to a friend of mine - so I stopped the debugger, took the device off the dock, handed it over to my friend and pushed the icon. Lo, it started and then immediately crashed. I figured that it was using the release profile, and on a whim went ahead and compiled and ran (through the debugger) under the release profile instead of the debug. As expected, it crashed right away with EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I have added the relative path to the core plot to Release configuration and -all_load and -ObjC to the "other" linker flags - just like in the debugger profile and googled all around. IT seems that most people with this issue have forgotten to add the linker flags. Does anyone have any suggestions for next steps in figuring out this issue?

  Hi, Is there any way to get taskbar's battery and phonesignal indicators icons and then draw into a picturebox or something? Why do I need this? I need all screen space available, so all forms are maximized and they cover up the windowsmobile taskbar. But, I have to display information about battery e phone signal strength in just a couple of forms. I know how to get their values (like systeminformation.phonesignalstrength), but what I want is the "current icon", so I don't need to worry about their values. It's just a visual information for the user. In last case, if this is not possible, how to get those icons from windowsmobile shell, so I'll draw them by my self, treating each differente status/values that they assume. (This is what I don't want to do!) Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english.

However, despite numerous web searches and reading, I'm struggling to finalise the method required to enable me to have a different name on the app store to the name that appears under the app on the device home screen. In the plist.info file there is reference to bundle display name, executable name, bundle name, bundle identifier, product name etc. So, for example, say I would like the app store name to display as: HELLO WORLD and I would like the name below the icon on the device home screen to display as: HELLO How should I enter the data in the plist.info file to achieve the above?   I have an application that is an NSStatusItem. It has a few different modes, each of which require an external process to be launched, during which the icon is simply highlighted, and appears to be frozen. I want to use the -setImage method (or reasonable facsimile) to display something along the lines of a "spinner" commonly seen in web applications and all over OS X. Is there any native method for accomplishing this (e.g. some instance of NSProgressIndicator?) or must I manually display an animation by cycling through a set of images? In either case, how would I implement?

• iPhone Simulator locks up immediately upon Build / Run

  I'm having a problem getting my MacBook set up to build iPhone *apps* in xCode. The iPhone Simulator locks up and shows the "spinning circle" busy icon. I've tried everything I can think of, including resetting the simulator tried all of the different hardware options tried the two debug build choices in xCode. uninstalling the SDK and completely reinstalling I downloaded the SDK today - "xcode_3.2.2_and_iphone_sdk_3.2_final" I'm just upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard (10.6.3). I've run all the software updates. xCode version says 3.2.2 (1650) If it matters, my MacBook is 3-4 years old, 13 inch, dual 2.16 ghz intel cores, 2 gig RAM. I've never had a single problem with it. I would be so grateful if anyone can help me thanks so much,

• Couldn't get connection factory client - fighting with Google Maps

  another day another problem, I finally managed to set up correctly google maps on my android application, or at least I thought I've done it, the whole progam starts, it even call the class which should "print" a map, but the only thing I can see is a grid with google label on it [ in the corner ]. I've checked the dalvik monitor and the error E/MapActivity(394): Couldn't get connection factory client occurs. I've find out on stackoverflow website that I should sent a gps signal or sth like this from dalvik monitor, and I've done it. • WPF: How to get the event when one FrameworkElement comes in contact with other FrameworkElement

  I am developing a small application with images and trash box icon on right hand bottom. I have multiple images floating in the main window, and using mouse I can move image from one corner to other corner of window, left, right, top and bottom. I can't figure out how do I catch an event when a image touches and panel (with trash box image), in the right hand corner. Does anybody knows which event or handler to listen? This is not a drag and drop case since my images are floating so no point using drag and drop. Thank you

• Problem serving video to iPad from Mongrel 1.1.5 , RoR 2.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.3 Server

  I am working off the Final Cut Server Integration sample provided by Apple that is a Rails app using 2.0.2 and runs on Mongrel 1.1.5. I can have a basic non-Ruby directory on my boot volume (Mac OS 10.6.3 Server) and can serve up video files just fine to iPad. However, when I drag the same video file into the 'public' area of the app running on -p 3000 it will not play on iPad, but will in Safari 4.0.5 desktop version. Images work fine so I know it's not a permissions issue. I'm getting the crossed-out play icon on iPad so it is not an issue of waiting on a large file to download before playing. I suspect it is a Mongrel/Snow Leopard issue but why would Safari on desktop work fine and not Safari iPad?   I have a dynamic video gallery and it works great on a computer. When moving to an iPad, the video starts loading and it shows the cannot play icon. Instead of this I'd rather the video not show until it's ready to play. I have tried to add events listeners for "canplaythrough" and "canplay" and when they occur for the video to fade in then play. • Placing figure in top-right corner of another

  I want child figure (org.eclipse.draw2d.Figure) to be relative to the top-right corner of the parent (I want place some small icon, which will be ImageFigure, to be 12 pixels from top and right borders). Is there an existing layout manager that can layout child this way? The org.eclipse.draw2d.XYLayout is not capable of measuring position relative to corner other than top-left. Of course, I can: Write layout manager myself Layout children figure every time bounds are changed for the parent (in parent layout() method). However, I would like to know if some existing layout manager provides that functionality.
