  • Looking for a specific kind of WEB framework, no malarkey please

    We do maintenence on a number of systems. I'm finally in a place where I'm teh fucking boss for once, and have to design a large system that will have a long maintenance contract. There's a couple of tasks I find myself always repeating: 1) similar tasks for users with JS and those without 2) similar things for contents and rss/atom feeds, etc. To combat these I will need appropriate handling of assets (think JS files, CSS, themes/templates, etc.), excellent auth/user systems, javascript/ajax forethought, appropriate model setups. Codeigniter fails on many of these. Basically, with enough time I could build this system with Zend, but I'm curious what else is out there as Zend is also kind of a heavy-weight. We need something that is Rapid but maintainable, CodeIgniter is not maintainable. We will have a lot of AJAX APIs in place for the design team to play with. At first I thought jQuery was cool, but now I'm looking at Dojo.

  • Set up tunnel to HE.net and now only ipv6.google.com works, but other sites ping fine.

    I'm setting up IPv6 using my router which is running OpenWRT, version Backfire 10.03.1-rc4. I made a tunnel using Hurricane Electric's tunnel broker and set it up on the router and I'm using RADVD to hand out IPv6 addresses. My problem is that on computers on the network, I can only access ipv6.google.com using a browser, but other sites seem to be loading forever and won't open in any browser. I can ping and traceroute to them fine, but can't open them with a browser. I can open any site normally with a browser from the router. Stopping firewall service on the router doesn't help, so it's probably not a firewall issue. All AAAA records resolve fine, so it's probably not a DNS issue. Computers on the network get their IPv6 addresses fine, so it's probably not a radvd issue. Similar setup worked fine for SixXs, but I'm having problems with my PoP there, so I decided to move to HE.     Hello, I'm trying to install the following PHP extension: http://php.net/manual/en/book.svn.php But when I do pecl install svn-beta I receive an error message that it can't locate the svn_client.h file.     Even though I have been having a certain level of knowledge and experience about web development I have never interested in obtaining a domain and publishing a website from my own server. Since today I have been struggling with getting my own domain and configuring it utilizing web sources. I started with learning the outline of web publishing process including web server installation, deploying a website for testing purpose,router port forwarding, getting a domain and forwarding domain to my router which will also forward http requests to my web server I am confused about some parts and so far could not get the web site accessed from outside of the network. All I try to do is just for learning purpose so I do not pay much attention to security issues for now. I have Server 2008 and IIS 7.5 installed. I use a laptop and have access to the modem over wireless and my modem is Zoom x6 5590. Well I will continue explaining what I have done so far and what I think will be after each action I did, I have successfully had access to my website on any local computer entering the internal ip address and port pair of the host machine in a browser. Next, I forwarded port 80 of my host machine creating a virtual server like 10.0.0.x(internal ip(static) of the host) - tcp - start port : 80 - end port : 80 in router options. Now I suppose every request that will come to the public Ip on port 80 will be forwarded to my host machine(10.0.0.x) over port 80. So If everyhing went as desired, the website listening on port 80 will accept the request and process the issue and finally respond bla bla bla... I suppose to access my website from outside of the network by entering http://MyPublicIp:80 in a browser but I couldn't accomplish this task by now despite using godady's domain forwarding tool,I see a small view of my website when I click the "preview" button that checks whether the address(http://publicip/Index.aspx) I entered where my domain will be forwarded is available or not. I am sure that configuring domain does not play a role in solving such a problem since using public ip and port matching does not help. So here is the first question, What is the fact that I face this problem? After that, I have couple of question regarding domain forwarding using godaddy tool. Can I forward my domain to a any port for example port 8080 other than default http port 80? Additionally, can I use a sub-domain to forward to a different port of the host? What I want to design is if the client enters www.mydomain.com, website1 will respond over a specified port and after when a client enters info.mydomain.com, another website which listens on different port will respond. I tried to add a sub-domain and forward it to a address like http://www.mydomain.com:8080/Index.aspx with no success. Can I really do that? Finally, what if I have a ftp site listening on the default port 21 and I create a domain like ftp.mydomain.com that will forward to that ftp site address. Is it possible to use sub-domains for ftp site access? I know I am more than confused but no matter whatever and however you reply to me, you will help me have a more clear view on this subject.     I installed ZendStudio 5.5.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 and it runs well , no problem. Today, I download Ubuntu 12.10 and intalled it on my / but keep the /home partition. And now, I can't run the ZendStudio any more, it gives me this error: strings: '/lib/libc.so.6': No such file ./ZDE: 1714: exec: /home/william/Zend/ZendStudio-5.5.1/jre/bin/java: not found But the java file exist!   • Wireless connection works but the internet is too slow to use in Ubuntu 11.04

    The internet is so slow as to be unusable. And I'm not being picky. Even after minutes I can't get my Google home page to load. I tried installing a package through apt-get and was getting rates between 0 and a few hundred bytes/s. That's bytes, not kilobytes! Mostly 0 however (no exaggeration, it spends large amounts of time stalled). And I would go to a speed test web site of some kind but I can't since nothing will load. Briefly put, the laptop I am using was connected to two wireless networks while using Ubuntu 11.04 without any issues before this. It was also connected to a wired network without any issues. It dual boats Windows 7 which has never had any issues, not even with the current wireless network. Just to be clear, on the current wi-fi network, Windows 7 encounters no issues (speedtest.net puts the network speed at 1mb/s) but my network connection in Ubuntu 11.04 is so slow as to literally be unusable. I am unfamiliar with the router except for the fact that it boasts a Rogers logo (that's a large ISP/cable provider in Canada for those not familiar with the land of igloos and polar bears). I am far from the router and some desktop widget I use tells me the signal strength is at 58% (it seems fairly reliable and this would appear to match up with the filled bars in the network icon). I should also mention I'm just renting a room in this house so I'm not the network administrator and while I can access the 192.168.0.1 router page, the password wasn't set to 'password' so it's not much use to me.     I'm doing unit testing and in one of my classes I need to send a mail from one of the methods, so using constructor injection I inject an instance of Zend_Mail class which is in Zend framework. Does that mean that I can never use a library class directly and must always wrap it in a class of my own? place though. At another part of the code the lister seems to be invoked. Though, there are both Controller types and both us $em->persist($something); $em->flush(); to save the changes. That allows us to use arbitrary view methods as action handlers. The existing issue is that the input to the form, only displays on the console and not on jsfiddle result section, though no error displays on the result section, there is a new error appearing in the console of the updated fiddle: Uncaught Error: Cannot perform operations on a Metamorph that is not in the DOM. Finally solved I needed to comment out App.initialize() for it to work as expected. This the working fiddle ** http://jsfiddle.net/ACzaJ/20/. I don't know why that is so, but my guess is that, App.initialize works with other parts like the router for routing, ApplicationController and ApplicationView with {{outlet}} in the handlebars, which i didn't need for this fiddle. Finally Finally and completely solved This ** http://jsfiddle.net/tQWn8/ works with App.initialize. But you have to declare all those components above and pass the router to App.initialize, like this App..initialize(router). If you don't do this, then you will get the old error Uncaught Error: Cannot perform operations on a Metamorph that is not in the DOM.

I am new to the whole ACL stuff and I didn't quite get it from the manual :/ therefore I would like to ask some questions. But before any questions, my routes look like this: Router::connect('/', array('controller' => 'users', 'action' => 'login')); Router::connect('/admin/:controller/:action/*', array('prefix' => 'admin', 'admin' => true)); Router::connect('/registered/:controller/:action/*', array('prefix' => 'registered', 'registered' => true)); 1.) How do I restrict users from any other group than Administrator to access ONLY the /registered/ part of the web 2.) How do I prevent anyone from using the default addresses like www.example.com/users/add on a global scale (I want only www.example.com/admin/users/add or www.example.com/registered/users/add type of addresses)? This kind of addresses is not event set in the routes.php but they still work. Any answers apprecated

  • Pecl complies .so extensions for OSX built-in PHP and not MAMP

    I've installed the sphinx binaries and libraries and am now trying to install the PECL sphinx module. My system is running OS X 10.6 with MAMP 1.8.2 installed. I try to install sphinx using the following command: sudo pecl install sphinx The PECL command outputs the following: running: phpize Configuring for: PHP Api Version: 20090626 Zend Module Api No: 20090626 Zend Extension Api No: 220090626 The versions above don't match the versions listed when doing a phpinfo(). It seems that PECL is trying to complie against the built-in version of PHP. If I ignore the errors and continue the it will successfully compile and place the sphinx.so file in: /usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/sphinx.so when in fact it should be: /Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/ I've tried copying the sphinx.so file to the MAMP extensions dir but when I restart apache PHP displays the following warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/sphinx.so I think this is because MAMP is 32bit and the built-in PHP is 64bit so PECL complies for 64bit. I might be completely wrong but I did read this when I goggled on the topic. Does anyone know how to get PECL to map to the MAMP version of PHP instead of the built-in version?

The ffmpeginstaller is meant to install ffmpeg-php but it cannot be found and I receive an error when I execute php -v PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib64/php/modules/ffmpeg.so' - /usr/lib64/php/modules/ffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Looking at the '/usr/lib64/php/modules/' folder, it doesn't contain the ffmpeg.so file. I've tried to install ffmpeg-php manually but I receive the following error checking for ffmpeg headers... configure: error: ffmpeg headers not found. Make sure you've built ffmpeg as shared libs using the --enable-shared option Should I install ffmpeg with series 4 or 5 of ffmpeginstaller or does someone know how to fix this issue?
