• How to implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight to a UIScrollView using Objective C in iPhone SD

  Hello, I'm working on multiple applications for my school. I just need this last bit of code and I was wondering how I could implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight into the app for each textfield. What this does is it makes the textfield pop above the keyboard, rather than over lapping it. I have already implemented a UIScrollView, so if someone on here could be pretty descriptive, or post a link to a video, that would be well appreciated. I am new to coding. Thanks very much!!!!

• Notepad++ Move Caret Outside Bracket

  I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer to something incredibly simple and useful for Notepad++. When using autoclose, the cursor gets stuck inside, which is good until I've finished typing the parameters. How do I get the caret to jump outside of the currently nested autoclosed element? Regardless of it being (), {}, [], "", '', ? CTRL+B does does something similar, but it goes to the inside of the left bracket first, and then to the outside of the right bracket, which is where I want to be. This only works for brackets though, not tags and qoutations Hitting CTRL+B twice is cumbersome and manually hitting "right arrow" requires too much hand motion while coding. And finally, is there anyway I can map this to "SHIFT+Space"?

• just started getting the "validation of viewstate mac" error

  I have had a site up and running for quite a while, but I've just started getting the MAC failed error. Quite often too. While coding tonight I've noticed it 4 times or so. The host (through someone else) changed servers and we've had a bunch of issues. This started happening since then. What are all the possibilities that it could be on the server end that I could ask? (I don't know all that much about IIS). Thanks!

• Does SELECT COUNT(*) work with MySQLi prepared statements?

  I'm working on a test page and am using MySQLi prepared statements in my queries after reading they make my code safe from SQL injection. I have been successful with prepared statements so far with retrieving data from my DB, that all works great. What I want to do now is count the number of galleries within a project using SELECT COUNT(*). That's it. Without using a prepared statement, my old query looked like this: // count number of galleries per project $conn = dbConnect('query'); $galNumb = "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM pj_galleries WHERE project = {$pjInfo['pj_id']}"; $gNumb = $conn->query($galNumb); $row = $gNumb->fetch_row(); $galTotal = $row[0]; But for all my reading and searching the internet, I can not find out the proper way to write this as a prepared statement. • Display username to logged in user only?

  I have a Wordpress blog set up to display comments as "Anonymous User" by hard coding it into the comments.php file. I would like to have it say the user's Username next to their comment and ONLY display that Username to THEM. In other words, if they're a guest, they'll see "Anonymous User" and if they're a registered/logged in DIFFERENT user, they'll still see "Anonymous User", but if it's THEIR comment it'll say "Your Comment" or their own username. • Save objects to a database?

  So far in my .Net coding adventures I've only had a need to save information to files. So I've used XmlSerializer and DataContractSerializer to serialize attributed classes to XML files. My next project, however, requires that I save and retrieve information from a SQL server database. I'm wondering what my options are for doing this. The current version of the app, which was not created by me, uses a lot of hard coded SQL commands. But now I'm trying to avoid doing anything where I have to read or write individual fields to or from the database or objects. I especially want to avoid a lot of hard coded SQL in my code. I like how the serializer classes just figure out how to read and write XML files based on the attributes and or public properties of the class. Is there something similar for a database rather then XML?

  assume that i start coding an application from scratch, is the best way to create tables when using an ORM (doctrine), to manually create tables in mysql and then generate models from the tables, or is it the other way around, that is to create the models in php and then generate tables from models? and if i already have a database, will the models created be optimal? cause i have heard some say that its best to create the database from scratch when using ORM, so that the relations are optimized for OOD. share your thoughts!

• App crashing on open on Motorola Backflip only

  I have recently published my second app on the Android Market. I've gotten a few e-mails about the app crashing on open, and all users were using the Motorola Backflip. It seems to work fine on all other devices. The app shows the background image, but crashes right after that. Is there something different I have to do when coding for that device? The strange thing is that it is very similar to my first app, which seems to work just fine for them. The major difference is that my second app is a paid app, and uses Android Licence Verification. My implementation should catch any license errors though, and I've tested this on my device. Users have uninstalled and reinstalled the app without success. I'm stumped. The other thing they're reporting is that the icon doesn't even show properly, but rather is a gear in a box, which makes me think that something goes awry very early in the installation process.

• jQuery model-view-controller vs Spring MVC

  my question is what potential problems or difficulties would be with implementing usual web app with somewhat reach user interface (multiple dynamic tabs, accordians and so on) using jQuery MVC approach with Spring REST vs using Spring MVC. Problems what I can think of could be: I will not be able to use Spring security fully, JavaScript coding could become hard to manage, any form verification becomes not easy to manage... what else? and does jQuery MVC with REST make sense at all? On other side jQuery with MVC and REST move all GUI concerns to JavaScript side (whether it is bad or not) and leave all data manipulation to server side.

• jquery issues - it wont change it accordingly

  My coding isnt linking properly , its meant to use jquery to detect the OS and change the link accordingly , however it isn't. • Trying to get excel 2003 into already made windows form

  good afternoon everyone :) I got sucha dilemma! (hate being new at stuff!) What my problem is is that I have a project that is in full design mode swing right now. I built it using the Windows form.. Anyways, on one of my forms..that I already started building (very painstakingly).. Minds have changed and now what needs to be on that form is either a full excel 2003 workbook..or at the very least..excel worksheet. The problem is that I have not been using studio 2008 for long..and coding experience shows the same. Can someone please tell me how the heck I can put a worksheet or a workbook on that form without starting my whole project over using office forms? • Third Party Libraries and Technologies every Java Programmer must be aware of?

  I agree that this is a very subjective question but as a student of Java , I get suggested good libraries and technologies for Java by my mentors at work. For example, I was not aware of Google Guice for Dependency Injection, awesomeness of Java Reflection APIs, ORMs like Hibernate or stuffs you could do with libraries like Hadoop. I want to collect and share some of the libraries that exemplifies good java programming (so that beginners like me could code walk and emulate the coding practice), teach unique concepts to Java (for example Dependency Injections or ORM) and/or are really interesting libraries that a student like me would get to do interesting projects on (eg. Hadoop). I redited this question 3 times to make it more specific : ). I am sorry if I am really not clear in my intentions. But some kind of a list of good concepts and third party libraries for Java could really help some of my intern friends here at work. Thank you.

• C++ IDE for OSX

  When i was at university i wrote a lot of C++. I primarily used either Visual Studio (at the time it was version 6) or VIM (if i was on linux) as an editor to write my code. Since i have graduate and have been working primarily in web programming i have stopped writing C++. Since i graduated i have also bought myself and started using my Mac exclusively. I am now starting to get back to my C++ coding (just for fun) and would like an opinion on good IDE's for Mac. I am currently using xCode which seems kinda cool because it has everything built into it. Do any of you have any other IDE's that you would suggest that i give a shot or should i just stick to xCode?

  I think this is a relevant question for programmers and I'd like to hear other people's answers because some syntax highlighting color schemes are better on the eyes than others. This can affect productivity as much as ergonomic keyboards or anything else on here. It's about comfort and productivity. So, I'm curious. Do you find some color schemes better adapted for some languages over others? At the other end of the spectrum, I think coding without syntax highlight is awful and slow going. I'd like it to apply to both [img] and [IMG].   I am making 3 board games, and I have started my coding off in one class. Now that i wanted to move around it is giving me problems. In my view class I just want to have the main frame where users can pick from the games. And in the other views, i.e the childrens of view class i want to have the interface for the actual games. • Making swedish characthers show properly in Windows Command Prompt using Python in Notepad++

I have set up Notepad++ to open the python script in the command prompt when I press F8 but all Swedish characters looks messed up when opening in CMD but perfectly fine in e.g IDLE. • How to replicate Google "Hangouts On Air" stream combining functionality?

  I've been researching this one for quite a bit but haven't found any solid leads. I have a Wowza/Flash app with video chatroom functionality and would like to combine the streams server-side into one video/audio stream in order to be sent to a live Youtube channel. I've found a couple projects such as jMixer and some helpful keywords such as "vision mixer" to help with my search but looking for any previous experience or new ideas. The other option is building something like it myself with a commercial video decoding/encoding library to raw frames, stitching the frames together, then encoding it. I was originally going down this route but put project on hold. What are some ideas, keywords, or existing software (open source preferred) to take those live streams and combine them into one in real-time? Or is coding it myself the required route? Thanks!

  I wish to create a Java Socket server which can be connected to using Javascript and/or Flash. I have experience in Connecting to sockets in flash, and using a comet like system in Ajax. • how to access a different movieclip within the flash in AS3

  I've been trying to learn Action Script 3 the past few weeks, making tiny interactive games to learn the basics. I stumble upon a problem every now and then but most of the times google helps me out. But this problem has got me stuck so please help: The main stage contains two objects(movieclips), the player and a wall. The player has got his own code so when I drag in the player object I don't have to write any code into the main stage to be able to move the player. This all worked pretty well and I now wanted to add the wall so the player actually has something to bounce into. Now here is the problem, I want to check if the player touches the wall, I've done this before but that was when I used the main stage as my coding playground instead of putting the code in movieclips. How can I check if the player hits the wall within the movement code of the player object?

• Drupal and Back-End Complexity

  Currently I am working on a school website, and we are still in the decision-making process of choosing a framework (we know that we're not using Joomla! or hand-coding). Drupal came up as a viable choice, and currently, that is my best bet for the site. However, I have an issue with CMS's in general. I would like to develop a quite complicated and specifically custom-suited back-end application for teachers to interact with individual students, including the design of shared/custom calendars, announcement privileges, etc. I currently have a bit of expertise with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and I could wrap my head around some JavaScript and AJAX stuff if need-be. However, would such a complicated application work with Drupal (in that I could create it to specifically suite my purposes)?
