  • Month to Date in SQL Server 2008

    Hopefully this will be an easy one to answer. I am working on a table that requires MTD data. One of our SQL guys told me to use MONTH (@monthtodate)= 11 Where @monthtodate is set to GetDate() in the parameter list in SQL Server Management Studio. So in "theory", he says, it should select the month (11) and then get today and return all the requested data in between those two dates. But I'm thinking this isn't correct. In looking at my data I'm starting to think that It's just returning data for the whole month of November instead of just MTD. I guess, technically, anything that has 0 won't be calculated. However that just means it's poorly written code correct? In your opinions, would this be the better way to return MTD data: production_date <= @today and Production_Date >= DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm, 0, @today), 0) Thanks in advance everyone!

    I know I can use android.text.format.DateFormat.getDateFormat() to format my dates, and android.text.format.DateFormat.getTimeFormat to format my times, but how do I format a datetime? Similar to the getDateTimeInstance method from java.text.DateFormat. I'm currently just concatenating the result of both the getDateFormat and getTimeFormat's formatters, but I don't know which way around the user prefers to have their dates and times shown.

  • Is there a function that can read a php function post-parsing?

    I've got a php file echoing hashes from a MySQL database. This is necessary for a remote program I'm using, but at the same time I need my other php script opening and checking it for specified strings POST parsing. If it checks for the string pre-parsing, it'll just get the MySQL query rather than the strings to look for. I'm not sure if any functions do this. Does fopen() read the file prior to parsing? or file_get_contents()? If so, is there a function that'll read the file after the php and mysql code runs? The file with the hashes query and echo is in the same directory as the php file reading it, if that makes a difference. Perhaps fopen reads it post-parse, and I've done something wrong, but at first I was storing the hashes directly in the file, and it was working fine. After I changed it to echo the contents of the MySQL table, it bugged out.

    I have a .csv file with records written in the following form: 2010-04-20 15:15:00,"8.9915176259e+00","8.8562623697e+00" 2010-04-20 15:30:00,"8.5718021723e+00","8.6633827160e+00" 2010-04-20 15:45:00,"8.4484844117e+00","8.4336586330e+00" 2010-04-20 16:00:00,"1.1106980342e+01","8.4333062208e+00" 2010-04-20 16:15:00,"9.0643470589e+00","8.6885660103e+00" 2010-04-20 16:30:00,"8.2133517943e+00","8.2677822671e+00" 2010-04-20 16:45:00,"8.2499419380e+00","8.1523501983e+00" 2010-04-20 17:00:00,"8.2948492278e+00","8.2884797924e+00" From these data I would like to make clusters - I would like to add a column with number indicating the hour - so in case of the first row a value 15 has to be added in a new row. The first problem is that calling a function [numData, textData, rawData] = xlsread('testData.csv') creates an empty matrix numData and one-column textData and rawData structures. Is it possible to create any template which recognizes a yyyy, MM, dd, hh, mm, ss values from the data above? What I would basically like to do with these data is to categorize the values by hours so from the example row of input: 2010-04-20 15:15:00,"8.9915176259e+00","8.8562623697e+00" update 1: in Matlab the line above is recognized as a string: '2010-04-26 13:00:00,"1.0428104753e+00","2.3456394130e+00"' I would want this to be the output: 15, 8.9915176259e+00, 8.8562623697e+00 update 1: a string has to be parsed Does anyone know how to parse a string and retrieve a timestamp, value1 (1.0428104753e+00) and value2 (2.3456394130e+00) from it as separate values?

    I store backups of databases in a directory structure year/month/day/time/backup_name an example would be basics_mini/2012/11/05/012232/RATIONAL.0.db2inst1.NODE0000.20110505004037.001 basics_mini/2012/11/06/012251/RATIONAL.0.db2inst1.NODE0000.20110505003930.001 note that timestamp from the backup file cannot be used. Before the automation testing starts the server time is set to 5.5.2011 So the question is how I can get the latest file if I pass the "base directory" (basics_mini) to some function that I am going to code. My thoughts are that I list the base directory and sort by time to get the year. Then I do the same for month, day and time. I wonder if there is any "easier" solution to that in php.

What I want to extract is LogId for each latest RefId. I tried solutions from this link:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/121387/sql-fetch-the-row-which-has-the-max-value-for-a-column. How I can remove the time part from value. I know we can use this method dateTimePicker1.Value.ToShortDateString(); but I want to set the value property to this format "dd/MM/yyyy" so the output will be like this "26/3/2010", because I want to store the value in my DB (SQL) How I can do that?

    I've started the process of moving my blog to Octopress, but unfortunately, a limitation of Jekyll doesn't allow me to use abbreviated month names for my permalinks. Therefore I'm looking to just get rid of the month and day bits altogether. I'ved read in this article that you can use rack-rewrite to take care of the redirection, since I am using Heroku to host this. So how would I turn: This: example.com/journal/2012/jan/03/post-of-the-day/ Into this: example.com/journal/2012/post-of-the-day/ Extra points: If I had another rule that redirected /blog/ to /journal/, would that rule still adhere to the above one as well? Meaning, my results should look like: postgres=# select * from foo ; datetimes ------------------------ 2012-12-12 15:45:10+00 --This one gets the default time. 2012-12-12 12:12:12+00 2012-12-12 12:12:00+00 (4 rows) I'm not really sure how to do this in postgres 8.4, I can't find anything in the datetime section of the manual or the sections regarding column default values.

Only for one record, the result is very strange. For this record ColumnA=2010-04-23 08:00:00 ColumnB=2010-04-22 17:00:00 It would display kpi_r, it displayed kpi_y. I have checked the value of DateDiff(d,Fields!ColumnA.Value,Fields!ColumnB.Value) in the SSMS, the value is -1. Why does it display kpi_y? Does anyone meet this problem before? Best Regards,

Relative is to be set by a PHP's strtotime argument. However, it fails when I set it to 31 May 2011 last day of May 2011 (that should normally work according to http://php.net/manual/en/function.strtotime.php) Do You have any idea how to set it to default to 31 May 2011?
