  • Sorting text and attached images in MFMailCompositeViewController?

    - by eOgas
    In the app I'm currently writing I'd like to populate the message body of an e-mail with a combination of text and images. It took me forever to find out that in order to get an embedded image, you had to have bold tags in the message body (...uhhh, yeah), otherwise the image just shows up as an attachment. But now I have the problem that all of the images just go to the end of the body, and I can't programmatically put text after or in between any of the attachments. So far I've tried: Adding images as part of the body string using tags and a base64 string. This would have worked, but most e-mail clients reject images embedded in this manner. Using normal tags with a references to the attached files, using the assigned filenames. Didn't work at all. Attaching images normally, but also attaching blocks of text to the e-mail. The text is not embedded in the same manner as the images. Turns out to be an attached txt file on the receiving end. Apple has restricted their MFMailComposieViewController class to the point of ridiculousness, but I know there has to be a way to do this, because they add in their stupid "Sent from my *apple device name here*" message at the end of every e-mail. So does anyone have any ideas?

  • Why does SendMailMAPI rename file attachments to shorter ones?

    - by Tom
    I use the following emailing function with Eudora. For some reason the attachment file name is renamed to be something else. How can I make sure the attachment file name remains intact? function SendMailMAPI(const Subject, Body, FileName, SenderName, SenderEMail, RecepientName, RecepientEMail: String) : Integer; var message: TMapiMessage; lpSender, lpRecepient: TMapiRecipDesc; FileAttach: TMapiFileDesc; SM: TFNMapiSendMail; MAPIModule: HModule; begin FillChar(message, SizeOf(message), 0); with message do begin if (Subject<>'') then begin lpszSubject := PChar(Subject) end; if (Body<>'') then begin lpszNoteText := PChar(Body) end; if (SenderEMail<>'') then begin lpSender.ulRecipClass := MAPI_ORIG; if (SenderName='') then begin lpSender.lpszName := PChar(SenderEMail) end else begin lpSender.lpszName := PChar(SenderName) end; lpSender.lpszAddress := PChar('SMTP:'+SenderEMail); lpSender.ulReserved := 0; lpSender.ulEIDSize := 0; lpSender.lpEntryID := nil; lpOriginator := @lpSender; end; if (RecepientEMail<>'') then begin lpRecepient.ulRecipClass := MAPI_TO; if (RecepientName='') then begin lpRecepient.lpszName := PChar(RecepientEMail) end else begin lpRecepient.lpszName := PChar(RecepientName) end; lpRecepient.lpszAddress := PChar('SMTP:'+RecepientEMail); lpRecepient.ulReserved := 0; lpRecepient.ulEIDSize := 0; lpRecepient.lpEntryID := nil; nRecipCount := 1; lpRecips := @lpRecepient; end else begin lpRecips := nil end; if (FileName='') then begin nFileCount := 0; lpFiles := nil; end else begin FillChar(FileAttach, SizeOf(FileAttach), 0); FileAttach.nPosition := Cardinal($FFFFFFFF); FileAttach.lpszPathName := PChar(FileName); nFileCount := 1; lpFiles := @FileAttach; end; end; MAPIModule := LoadLibrary(PChar(MAPIDLL)); if MAPIModule=0 then begin Result := -1 end else begin try @SM := GetProcAddress(MAPIModule, 'MAPISendMail'); if @SM<>nil then begin Result := SM(0, Application.Handle, message, MAPI_DIALOG or MAPI_LOGON_UI, 0); end else begin Result := 1 end; finally FreeLibrary(MAPIModule); end; end; if Result<>0 then begin MessageDlg('Error sending mail ('+IntToStr(Result)+').', mtError, [mbOk], 0) end;

  • C# change e-mail 'from' address to a user-provided one.

    - by Jeff
    We have an app that allows users to send e-mails from our system. It allows the user to specify their e-mail address, and gives them several standard templates to use as a starting point for their e-mail. When we send the e-mails, we use the address they provided as the 'reply-to', but the 'from' address of the e-mail (naturally) looks like our system (from '[email protected]'). Is there a way to change this without getting tangled up in spam filters or automatic blocking? We'd prefer not to confuse the recipient as to who actually composed the e-mail they've received.

  • How does HTTP Analyzer works?

    - by Rampage
    Halo, i am interest in methods, which http analyzer uses to capture data. I would like to write program which saves emails sent via web based clients. The problem is https and HTTP Analyzer solves it, but i dont know how. I got one interesting answer on my question before, but it doesnt reveal as much as i would like to know. Programs like HTTP Analyzer can catch the HTTPS data because they insert themselves in the HTTPS stack. As a result, they get the data after it's generated but before it's being encrypted and put in IP packets. This is highly non-trivial. How it is possible to make? If you have any interesting articles solving this issue, please let me know.

  • Sending E-Mail in C#

    - by pm_2
    I’m using .NET 3.5, and I want to automatically send a mail. I’m currently using the following: Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.MailItem mailMsg = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.MailItem)outlookApplication.CreateItem( Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlItemType.olMailItem); mailMsg.To = recipient; mailMsg.Subject = subject; mailMsg.Body = body; mailMsg.Send(); However, I’ve found several articles that seem to imply I should be using the following method: System.Net.Mail.MailMessage mailMsg = new System.Net.Mail.MailMessage(); mailmsg.To = recipient; mailmsg.Subject = subject; mailmsg.Body = body; Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two namespaces if, and why you might want to use one over the other?

  • php Mail function; Is this way of using it safe?

    - by Camran
    I have a classifieds website, and inside each classified, there is a small form. This form is for users to be able to tip their "friends": <form action="/bincgi/tip.php" method="post" name="tipForm" id="tipForm"> Tip: <input name="email2" id="email2" type="text" size="30 /> <input type="submit" value="Skicka Tips"/> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $ad_id;?>" name="ad_id2" id="ad_id2" /> <input type="hidden" value="<?php echo $headline;?>" name="headline2" id="headline2" /> </form> The form is then submitted to a tip.php page, and here is my Q, is this below code safe, ie is it good enough or do I need to make some sanitations and more safety details? $to = filter_var($_POST['email2'], FILTER_SANITIZE_EMAIL); $ad_id = $_POST['ad_id2']; $headline = $_POST['headline2']; $subject = 'You got a tip'; $message ='Hi. You got a tip: '.$headline.'.\n'; $headers = 'From: [email protected]\r\n'; mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers); I haven't tested the above yet.

  • What is a user-friendly solution to editing email templates with replacement variables?

    - by Daniel Magliola
    I'm working on a system where we rely a lot of "admins / managers" emailing users from the database. One of the key features is being able to email several people at the same time, with specific information relevant to each of them. Another key feature is to be able to hand-craft emails, because it tends to be be necessary to slightly modify them each time, but having a basic template saves a lot of time. For this, we have the typical "templates" solution, where we have a template that looks kind of like this: Hello {{recipient.full_name}}, Your application to {{activity.title}} has been accepted. You have requested to participate on dates {{application.dates}}, in role {{application.role}} Blah blah blah The problem we are having is obviously that (as we expected), managers don't get the whole "variables" idea, and they do things like overwriting them, which doesn't let them email more than one person at a time, assuming those are not going to get replaced and that the system is broken, or even inexplicable things like "Hello {{John}}". The big problem is that this isn't relegated, as usual, to an "admin" section where only a few power users have access to editing the templates that are automatically send out, and they're expected to know what they are doing. Every user of the system gets exposed to this problem. The obvious solution would be to replace the variables before showing this template for the user to edit, but that doesn't work when emailing several people. This seems like a reasonably common problem, and we are kind of hoping that someone has already solved it. Have you seen anywhere/created/can think of good solutions to this problem?

  • Checking form input data on submit with pure PHP [migrated]

    - by Leron
    I have some experience with PHP but I have never even try to do this wit pure PHP, but now a friend of mine asked me to help him with this task so I sat down and write some code. What I'm asking is for opinion if this is the right way to do this when you want to use only PHP and is there anything I can change to make the code better. Besides that I think the code is working at least with the few test I made with it. Here it is: <?php session_start(); // define variables and initialize with empty values $name = $address = $email = ""; $nameErr = $addrErr = $emailErr = ""; $_SESSION["name"] = $_SESSION["address"] = $_SESSION["email"] = ""; $_SESSION["first_page"] = false; if ($_SERVER["REQUEST_METHOD"] == "POST") { if (empty($_POST["name"])) { $nameErr = "Missing"; } else { $_SESSION["name"] = $_POST["name"]; $name = $_POST["name"]; } if (empty($_POST["address"])) { $addrErr = "Missing"; } else { $_SESSION["address"] = $_POST["address"]; $address = $_POST["address"]; } if (empty($_POST["email"])) { $emailErr = "Missing"; } else { $_SESSION["email"] = $_POST["email"]; $email = $_POST["email"]; } } if ($_SESSION["name"] != "" && $_SESSION["address"] != "" && $_SESSION["email"] != "") { $_SESSION["first_page"] = true; header('Location: http://localhost/formProcessing2.php'); //echo $_SESSION["name"]. " " .$_SESSION["address"]. " " .$_SESSION["email"]; } ?> <DCTYPE! html> <head> <style> .error { color: #FF0000; } </style> </head> <body> <form method="POST" action="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($_SERVER["PHP_SELF"]);?>"> Name <input type="text" name="name" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($name);?>"> <span class="error"><?php echo $nameErr;?></span> <br /> Address <input type="text" name="address" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($address);?>"> <span class="error"><?php echo $addrErr;?></span> <br /> Email <input type="text" name="email" value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($email);?>"> <span class="error"><?php echo $emailErr;?></span> <br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit"> </form> </body> </html>

SlideUp (). FadeOut () so that the sending of this email appears for 3 seconds "$ (" # form_send "). addClass ('hide')" before you do anything else then the form disappears up using some second type slideUp "$ (" # form_box "). addClass ('hide')" by displaying just the "$ (" # form_success "). removeClass ('hide')" in the address bar also appears the form data (e.g. ../index.php?name=test&email=example%40mail.com&website=&message=helloworld)

  • The email address used to help trust my PC, is no longer valid, how do I fix that?

    - by Rod
    A few nights ago I upgraded my Windows 7 PC to Windows 8. This morning, when I logged into my PC, I noticed the little flag in the system tray, in desktop mode, had a red "X" on it. I checked it and one of the issues was my needing to tell Windows 8 that I trusted my PC. I clicked on the link to trust my PC, and saw the button to tell it to trust my PC, and so I did. After doing that it send it had sent out an email to a really old email address I had, which hasn't been valid for many years. Now what? Will that "trusting my PC" be invalid, because I can't respond to it (which certainly isn't true, if it's sending messages to so old email address). I didn't even know that Windows still had such an old email address. I'm concerned that I won't have a trust relationship with my own PC, that somehow or other whatever holds onto my information has old information and that I am not sure how to change it in as fast a manner as possible so that I can trust my own PC. How do I do these things?
