  • Encrypted HTML page without HTTPS

    I have a Perl script to open this page http://svejo.net/popular/all/new/ and filter the names of the posts but except headers everything seems encrypted. Nothing can be read. When I open the same page in a browser everything looks fine including the source code. How is it possible to encrypt a page for a script and not for a browser? My Perl script sends the same headers as my browser (Google Chrome).

  • PHP: How to forward on $_FILES using cURL

    Hi. I'm trying to use cURL to forward on a http request from a form in a web application I'm developing. Essentially I need to submit the same form twice on different servers, for the second server I'm adding some security measures to the post data. I can receive $_POST information on the second form perfectly fine, however I'm having major troubles with my $_FILES - I've tried separating the two so there's a separate request for post and files data but still no luck. Is this possible?

  • Is there a max size for POST parameter content?

    I'm troubleshooting a java app where XML is sent between two systems using HTTP POST and a servlet. I suspect that the problem is that the XML is growing way to big. Is it possible that this is the problem? Is there a limit? When it doesn't work, the request.getParameter("message") on the consumer side will return null. Both apps are running on tomcat

  • 301 redirects in .htaccess on apache

    I guess this should be straightforward but my host got me to switch server from zeus to apache following which the .htaccess file with existing individual 301 redirects failed to work causing an internal server error, so have commented them out for the time being. Could someone explain how to set these up to work in their new apache context? Have no apache experience Example redirect: Redirect 301 /pages/exhibitions/thegreatindoors.html http://www.klassnik.com/pages/thegreatindoors.html Read a lot about mod rewrites etc but not sure what to write. I don't care about the response, I just want to do something like file_get_contents(), but not wait on the request to finish before executing the rest of my code.     I have two servlet: first servlet is similar to a client and creates an HttpURLConnection to call the second servlet. I would like send a special error, formatted like a JSON object, so I call sendError method in this way: response.sendError(code, "{json-object}") But in the first servlet when I read error with getResponseMessage method I just get standard HTTP message and not my json object as a string. How I can get my json string?

  • How can I turn on DynamicCompression feature of IIS programmatically?

    I'm making an installer program for my web application. My web application uses CSS and JS heavily, so I want to enable both Static and Dynamic HttpCompression for IIS7/7.5. It needs 2 steps: I can modified the web.config, put <httpcompression> tag, it's ok. DynamicContentCompression must be turned on in Windows Feature to make httpCompression work. Static HttpCompression is enable by default in IIS7 and IIS7.5, but Dynamic HttpCompression is not enable by default (although it's available). I can do manually by turn on: Start/ControlPanel/ProgramsAndFeatures/TurnWindowsFeatures on or Off/IIS/WWW Service/Performance features/Dynamic Content Compression, but How can I programmatically turn it on that Windows Feature? I can use PowerShell, C# in my installer. Any idea how I might be able to do this? Thanks.

    Here's some code: Client client = new Client(Protocol.HTTP); client.setConnectTimeout(1); //milliseconds Response response = client.post(url, paramRepresentation); System.out.println("timed out"); What I would expect to happen is that it prints "timed out" before the resource has time to process. Instead, nothing happens with the timeout and it doesn't print "timed out" until after the resource returns. Even if I put a Thread.sleep(5000) at the resource that's handling the request, the entire sleep is performed, like the timeout did nothing. Anyone have experience with this? I'm using Restlet 1.1.1. Thanks.

  • Get jQuery post redirect response

    I've written some HTML/Javascript that sits on a third-party server for security reasons. This page performs a javascript post to another page on the same site. However, instead of responding with useful data, it instead wants to perform a redirect (if you would post via a normal HTML form to this page, it would redirect your browser). How can I process this process? I basically want to be able to extract the url's query parameters that it is trying to redirect with (and then put this link into a hidden form field).     Hi everybody! Im working on a asp.net 3.5 web application (C#), where i have a file with some information that is updated frequently, and only few accounts can access to it (the application is using the asp.net authentication system, stored in a SQL database). My task is to parse that file, so i made a small parser (another web app) a to show the information in a more friendly way. However, everytime i want to parse it, i need to enter in the application with one of those accounts, download the file, put in the parser's folder. Is there any way to, given the username and password, download the file directly from the parser application and use that one? Thanks in advance

  • How does refer(r)er work technically?

    I don't understand: how are webserver and trackers like Google Analytics able to track referrals? Is it part of HTTP? Is it some (un)specified behavior of the browsers? Apparently every time you click on a link on a web page, the original web page is passed along the request. What is the exact mechanism behind that? Is it specified by some spec? I've read a few docs and I've played with my own Tomcat server and my own Google Analytics account, but I don't understand how the "magic" happens. Bonus (totally related) question: if, on my own website (served by Tomcat), I put a link to another site, does the other site see my website as the "referrer" without me doing anything special in Tomcat?

  • ASP.NET HTTPHandler not throwing exception when one is expected

    I have an HttpHandler class (implements IHttphandler) where the path defined for the handler in web.config is *.jpg. I am requesting a Jpg image in my page. Within the HTTP Handler I am writing to a file in the filesystem. By mistake I was trying to write to a non existant directory. This should have thrown an exception but the execution simply proceeds.Ofcourse no file is written. But if I give a proper directory the file is written correctly.Is there anything special about HttpHandler Exceptions. See part of the code public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context){ File.WriteAllLines(context.Request.ApplicationPath+@"\"+"resul.log",new string[]{"Entered JPG Handler"}); If I put a breakpoint on the File.WriteAllLines statement and then step over it I can see an exception occurring.
