  • GpsSatellite.getSnr() - What is the value range?

    I'm building a Sat-View that draws a small bar-chart for available satellites and their signal strength (or better: their signal-to-noise-ratio / SNR). The javadoc doesn't say what value-range to expect for the SNR. The NMEA-Standard says 0-99, but even in best conditions my G1 doesn't reach that value. I also read that different manufacturers use different value-ranges for the SNR, so is that true for android-devices, too? Or is there a unified value range on that plattform and if so, what is it? The lack of information in the docs leads me to suspect I just get the "raw" SNR from the driver, in which case I'd like to know: What do you think is the best approach to visualize that unknown value-range in a bar-chart?

  • How to improve my Python regex syntax?

    I very new to Python, and fairly new to regex. (I have no Perl experience.) I am able to use regular expressions in a way that works, but I'm not sure that my code is particularly Pythonic or consise. For example, If I wanted to read in a text file and print out text that appears directly between the words 'foo' and 'bar' in each line (presuming this occurred one or zero times a line) I would write the following: fileList = open(inFile, 'r') pattern = re.compile(r'(foo)(.*)(bar)') for line in fileList: result = pattern.search(line) if (result != None): print result.groups()[1] Is there a better way? The if is necessary to avoid calling groups() on None. But I suspect there is a more concise way to obtain the matching String when there is one, without throwing errors when there isn't. I'm not hoping for Perl-like unreadability. I just want to accomplish this common task in the commonest and simplest way.

    Hello, I'm new to Ruby/Redmine/Redcloth but I'm trying to achieve the following: The default way to build a link in Textile is "foo":http://bar. However, 90% of the day I use Atlassian products, which use [foo|http://bar] as link markup. To keep everything a bit uniform I'd like to implement this in Redmine via a plugin. However, it appears that you can't change the macro syntax so instead I'll have to look into extending RedCloth to accept this form of inserting links. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?     I am trying to back up both the "Last Session" and "Current Session" files for Google Chrome in one command, but using a wildcard doesn't seem to work. I am trying with the following command rsync -e "ssh -i new.key" -r --verbose -tz --stats --progress --delete '/cygdrive/c/Users/jay/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/*Session' user@host:"/chrome\ sessions/" and get the following error rsync: link_stat "/cygdrive/c/Users/jay/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/*Session" failed: No such file or directory (2) What am I doing wrong?

(title says it all) Let's say I have a struct struct Foo { void bar () { do_baz(this); } void do_baz(Foo*& pFoo) { pFoo->p_sub_foo = new Foo; // for example } Foo* p_sub_foo; } GCC tells me that temp.cpp: In member function ‘void Foo::bar()’: temp.cpp:3: error: no matching function for call to ‘Foo::do_baz(Foo* const)’ temp.cpp:5: note: candidates are: void Foo::do_baz(Foo*&) So, how do I convert what is apparently a const Foo* to a Foo*&?

  • RegEx to extract all HTML tag attributes including inline JavaScript

    I found this useful regex code here while looking to parse HTML tag attributes: (\S+)=["']?((?:.(?!["']?\s+(?:\S+)=|[>"']))+.)["']? It works great, but it's missing one key element that I need. Some attributes are event triggers that have inline Javascript code in them like this: onclick="doSomething(this, 'foo', 'bar');return false;" Or: onclick='doSomething(this, "foo", "bar");return false;' I can't figure out how to get the original expression to not count the quotes from the JS (single or double) while it's nested inside the set of quotes that contain the attribute's value.

  • problem with reload data from table view after come back from another view

    I have a problem in my application. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Basically it is from view A to view B, and then come back from view B. In the view A, it has dynamic data loaded in from the database, and display on the table view. In this page, it also has the edit button, not on the navigation bar. When user tabs the edit button, it goes to the view B, which shows the pick view. And user can make any changes in here. Once that is done, user tabs the back button on the navigation bar, it saves the changes into the NSUserDefaults, goes back to the view A by pop the view B. When coming back to the view A, it should get the new data from the UIUserDefaults, and it did. I user NSLog to print out to the console and it shows the correct data. Also it should invoke the viewWillAppear: method to get the new data for the table view, but it didn't. It even did not call the tableView:numberOfRowsInSection: method. I place a NSLog statement inside this method but didn't print out in the console. as the result, the view A still has the old data. the only way to get the new data in the view A is to stop and start the application. both view A and view B are the subclass of UIViewController, with UITableViewDelegate and UITableViewDataSource. here is my code in the view A : - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { NSLog(@"enter in Schedule2ViewController ..."); // load in data from database, and store into NSArray object //[self.theTableView reloadData]; [self.theTableView setNeedsDisplay]; //[self.theTableView setNeedsLayout]; } in here, the "theTableView" is a UITableView variable.     Server 2008/2008 R2 I'm trying to remotely monitor these servers to watch the progress of hotfixes being installed. I was able to find this in Server 2003/2003 R2: -Log: System -Source: NtServicePack It seems the above event is written when every hotfix is installed. I can't seem to find a comparable entry in Server 2008/2008 R2 though. Is there anything similar that I can easily monitor for remotely?

  • Why can't I set a custom color-tint for the UINavigationBar?

    I want to change the color on the navigation bar and the documentation states not to attempt to change the 'alpha' value. So, how can I set a color that is not the SDK defined values (e.g., [UIColor redColor], brownColor, etc.) if all the constructors provide an alpha value? I tried getting the current alpha value but that did not help. When I use a custom color, it causes the navigation bar to look like an x-ray (a scraggy, black-on-white). [self.navigationController.navigationBar setTintColor: [UIColor brownColor]];

  • Building a maven child project that depends on another projects child project with Bamboo

    I have two maven projects Project AAA * AAA-Core * AAA-Other Project BBB * BBB-Core * BBB-AAA-specific I want to create a build plan in Bamboo to build the BBB-AAA-specific project. The plan configuration is such that this project depends on the AAA-Other projec build. Thus everything should work ok. But when I try to run the BBB-AAA-specific Bamboo plan I get an error that states: "Unable to find resource 'foo.bar.AAA:AAA:pom:0.0.1-SNAPSHOT' in repository snapshots (http://foo.bar.com)" What is going on? The bamboo builds for "AAA-Core" and "AAA-Other" work as expected.

For example, if a.rb runs b.rb a couple of times, is it possible to replace system("ruby", "b.rb", "foo", "bar") with something like run_ruby("b.rb", "foo", "bar") so that if you used ruby1.9.1 a.rb on the original, ruby1.9.1 would be used on b.rb, but if you just used ruby a.rb on the original, ruby would be used on b.rb? I'd prefer not to use shebangs, as I'd like it to be able to run on different computers, some of which don't have /usr/bin/env.

  • Android app crashes when I change the default xml layout file to another

    I am currently just starting to learn android development and have created a basic "Hello world" app that uses "activity_main.xml" for the default layout. I tried to create a new layout xml file called "new_layout.xml" with a text view, a text field and a button and did the following changes in the MainActivity.java file: setContentView(R.layout.new_layout); I did nothing else expect for adding a new_layout.xml in the res/layout folder, I have tried restarting and cleaning the project but nothing. Why is this?

  • XIB-instantiated Object's IBOutlet is nil

    I have a XIB set up like in this screenshot: File's owner is my main window controller. The XIB is also in charge of creating an object that serves as the delegate for the MGScopeBar view. As you can see in the screenshot, the scope bar delegate has an IBOutlet for the search field so that it can return it as an extra view as part of the delegate process. The problem I'm having is that when the delegate object is queried for the accessory view, the IBOutlet NSSearchField is nil. I'm fairly certain this has something to do with the order that objects are created, IBOutlets wired, etc, but I'm just a little lost as to where in the process I can expect the search field to exist so that the scope bar delegate can reference it properly. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

    I have a DataTemplate inside a global/shared ResourceDictionary like this which targets a DataType: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type foo:Bar}"> <!-- My DataTemplate visual tree goes here... --> </DataTemplate> This DataTemplate replaces my all foo:Bar types on all my Views (UserControls/Windows). What I want to do is to apply this template to only certain views, keeping the other views are not affected by this DataTemplate. I can copy this DataTemplate to Resources sections of each of these view, but I don't want to copy/paste the contents of the DataTemplate which would result in maintenance headaches.

    I've got a folder of images which is reaching a critical mass after a few years. I want to move images into alphabetical folders, so that /img/foo.jpg goes into /img/f/foo.jpg and /img/bar.jpg goes into /img/b/bar.jpg and so on. In order to make the transition smooth, and to allow the manual uploaders to put stuff into the top level, I'd like to use mod_rewrite to do this: if /img/foo.jpg exists, serve it up, if not look for it in /img/f/foo.jpg thanks for any suggestions. For the record, no, I don't think we need to go /img/f/fo/foo.jpg just yet.

    I'm looking for a solution to create a sort of template in Objective C. I'll try to explain my problem. I would create a sort of main view which has 1 side bar that remain always visible. This side bar have controls. The main view is responsible to load a Navigation Controller (UINavigationController seems to be ok) that manages other views. When switching a view to another, the sidebar always remain visible under the Navigation Controller and its views. Through the controls of the sidebar, it's possible to send event to a specific view loaded by the Navigation Controller. Any idea to create a similar template? Thank you. Best regards.

    I want to match a root Element “FOO” and perform the transformation (add a version attribute) to it leaving the rest as it is.     In Python scripts, there are many cases where a keyboard interrupt (Ctrl-C) fails to kill the process because of a bare except clause somewhere in the code: try: foo() except: bar() The standard solution in Python 2.5 or higher is to catch Exception rather than using bare except clauses: try: foo() except Exception: bar() This works because, as of Python 2.5, KeyboardInterrupt and SystemExit inherit from BaseException, not Exception. However, some installations are still running Python 2.4. How can this problem be handled in versions prior to Python 2.5? (I'm going to answer this question myself, but putting it here so people searching for it can find a solution.)

  • Exporting a report from Crystal 8.5 causes the report to first refresh, then export, with unexpected

    We have a VB6 application that can generate reports using the Crystal Reports 8.5 runtime. To generate one of the more complicated reports we have, the VB app does the following: Deletes records from a SQL table (we'll call it Foo) based on the session ID of the user Performs a select statement, and populates the Foo table with the contents of the select statement. Massages the data in Foo. Executes the report (we'll call it Bar). The Bar report uses the Foo table as part of some outer joins to get some descriptions. After the report is opened and populated, the code then deletes the records in Foo. If you ever look in Foo there will be no data since it is always purged at the end, but the Crystal Report will still have the data, since Foo wasn't cleared out until after the report ran. Most sites can export this report afterwards, to either PDF or Excel, with no issue. One site, however, has two servers in production where if you attempt to export the Bar report (doesn't matter what format it is exported to), the report will visibly refresh and then export the report in the requested format. This refresh, however, causes the exported data to be invalid because the report is still doing the outer joins to the Foo table, which is now empty. I'm at a total loss why the report refreshes before printing on these two servers. One server has Crystal Reports 8.5 installed on it as well as the Crystal Reports 8.5 runtime (so they can modify reports). The other server only has the Crystal Reports 8.5 runtime (so you can generate reports from the VB application, but can't modify them on that server). Both of the servers belong to a French site. Another support staff here said the issue sounded vaguely familiar to an issue a few years ago, and suggested re-registering DLLs. I have tried unregistering and re-registering the following DLLs out of frustration: Crystl32.ocx crxlat32.dll cpeau32.dll exportmodeller.dll crtslv.dll atl.dll Unregistering and re-registering the above DLLs does not fix the issue. If we take the problem report, and run it on any of our development or QA servers, we have no issues; the report does NOT refresh before exporting, and the data looks consistent. It seems like a server or regional setting may be causing this, but what could possibly cause the report to refresh before exporting on only two of our servers? The most obvious solution is to simply alter the code so the Foo table isn't purged after the report is run, only when the report is run, but this is a production issue, the customer wants a fix now, and there's quite a few hoops to jump through to make the change.
