• Jsp page getting called from cache rather than getting loaded from server

  I am calling a jsp based on 2 parameters which is passed from jsp 1 in this way.Below i pass 2 parameters into 2.jsp and based on these 2 parameters data is displayed in 2.jsp.I have a loop in which i have a number of hrefs like the one i have described below.Each of these href passes a different set of value to 2.jsp. out.println("<a href=\"2.jsp?prId=" + prog.getId() + count + "\">" + prog.getName() + "</a>"); I retrieve these 2 parameters in 2.jsp using the following lines count_id = request.getParameter( "country_id" ); prog_id = Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter( "program_id" )); Based on these 2 parameters i show the corresponding data in 2.jsp Now i have a back button in 2.jsp and i call 1.jsp in 2.jsp using the following code <a href="1.jsp"><img src="/image/back.gif" border="0"></a> The problem is when i use the back button and go back to 1.jsp and select another href like the one i have described above i get the data related to the previous href selected. I guess the problem is when i request the page is loaded from cache rather than from the server. Please advice

  I have 6000 data of district, subdistrict. I need to represent this on dependent dropdown. The datamodel is for example; class Location(db.Model): location_name = db.StringProperty() location_parent = db.IntegerProperty() location_parent is reference to key() or id()? Still cannot decide which one is good. When i use key() as reference then using JSON to create jquery dependent drop down. My page loading/query and rendering time the dropdown is quite slow? Can i use key().id() as drop down option value to lighten up the page load? Any better solution for this parent/child reference for the drop down? For example: for the district record/entities the location-parent is null, for sub district record location_name will contain reference to parent district record. Other issue is to reverse geocoding the location to store or display geoPoint (lat,long)? Is google MAP API always find the exact lat,long of specific region boundaries or any error checking for the result?

  We've got the following situation, running from a single domain: Page A uses window.open() to open a named window (a popup player). window.open() gives page A a reference to the window. User now reloads page A. The reference to the named window is lost. Using window.open() to "find" the window has the unfortunate side effect of reloading it (undesirable). Is there any other way to get a reference to this window?

• Finding missing symbols in libstd++ on Debian/squeeze

  I'm trying to use a pre-compiled library provided as a .so file. This file is dynamically linked against a few librairies : $ ldd /usr/local/test/lib/libtest.so linux-gate.so.1 = (0xb770d000) libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 = not found libm.so.6 = /lib/i686/cmov/libm.so.6 (0xb75e1000) libc.so.6 = /lib/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7499000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb770e000) libgcc_s.so.1 = /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0xb747c000) Unfortunately, in Debian/squeeze, there is no libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.* file. Only a libstdc++.so.* file provided by the libstdc++6 package. I tried to link (using ln -s) libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 to the libstdc++.so.6 file. It does not work, a batch of symbols seems to be lacking when I'm trying to ld my .o files with this lib. /usr/local/test/lib/libtest.so: undefined reference to `__builtin_vec_delete' /usr/local/test/lib/libtest.so: undefined reference to `istrstream::istrstream(int, char const *, int)' /usr/local/test/lib/libtest.so: undefined reference to `__rtti_user' /usr/local/test/lib/libtest.so: undefined reference to `__builtin_new' /usr/local/test/lib/libtest.so: undefined reference to `istream::ignore(int, int)' What would you do ? How may I find in which lib those symbols are exported ?

• Referencing both an old version and new version of the same DLL (VB.Net)

  Consider the following situation: WidgetCompany produced a .NET DLL in 2006 called Widget.dll, version 1.0. I consumed this Widget.dll file throughout my VB.Net application. Over time, WidgetCompany has been updating Widget.dll, I never bothered to keep up, continuing to ship version 1.0 of Widget.dll with my software. It's now 2010, my project is now a VB.Net 3.5 application and WidgetCompany has come out with Widget.dll version 3.0. It looks and functions almost identical to Widget.dll version 1.0, using all the same namespaces and type names from before. However, Widget.dll version 3.0 has many run-time breaking changes since 1.0 and I cannot simply cut over to the new version; however, I don't want to continue developing against the 1.0 version and therefore keep digging myself deeper in the hole. What I want to do is do all new development in my project with Widget.dll version 3.0, whilst keeping Widget.dll version 1.0 around until I find time to convert all of my 1.0 consumption to the newer 3.0 code. Now, for starters, I obviously cannot simply reference both Widget.dll (Ver 1.0) and Widget.dll (Ver 3.0) in Visual Studio. Doing so gives me the following message: "A reference to 'Widget.dll' could not be added. A reference to the component 'Widget' already exists in the project." To work around that, I can simply rename version 3.0 Widget.dll to Widget.3.dll. But this is where I'm stuck. Any attempts to reference types found in "the dll" leads to ambiguity and the compiler obviously doesn't have any clue as to what I really want in this or that case. Is there something I can do that gives a DLL a new "root" Namespace or something? For example, if I could say "Widget.dll has a new root namespace of Legacy" then I could update existing code to reference the types found in Legacy.<RootNamespace> namespace while all new code could simply reference types from the <RootNamespace> namespace. Pipe dream or reality? Are there other solutions to situations this (besides "don't get in this situation in the first place")?

  I have a huge test data like the one provided below (and yes I have no control over this data). Each line is actually 6 parts and I need to generate an XML based on this data. Nav;Basic;Dest;Smoke;No;Yes; Nav;Dest;Recent;Regg;No;Yes; Nav;Dest;Favourites;Regg;No;Yes; ... Nav;Dest using on board;By POI;Smoke;No;Yes; Nav;Dest using on board;Other;Regg;No;Yes; The first 3 elements on each line denotes "test suites"-XML element and the last 3 element should create a "test case"-XML element.   I've been reading up on query plans and how to minimise duplicate plans being created by SQL Server for the same basic query. For example, if I understand correctly, sending both these query strings will result in 2 different query plans: "SELECT FirstName FROM Members WHERE LastName = 'Lee'" "SELECT FirstName FROM Members WHERE LastName = 'MacGhilleseatheanaich'" Using a stored procedure avoids this, as the query plan is the same, and "LastName" is passed as a variable, eg: CREATE PROCEDURE sp_myStoredProcedure @LastName varchar(100) AS SELECT FirstName FROM Members WHERE LastName = @LastName Go Now, my question is whether the same applies to the Command object (eg. SQLClient.SQLCommand in ADO.NET). The reason I ask is that string parameters don't have a defined max length, as in the code above. Take the following code: MyCmd.CommandText = "SELECT FirstName FROM Members WHERE LastName = @LastName" MyCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@LastName", "Lee") Then later: MyCmd.Parameters.Clear() MyCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@LastName", "MacGhilleseatheanaich") Since @LastName hasn't been declared to SQL Server as having a defined maximum length, will SQL Server create a new query plan for every different value when I execute the command this way?

  I have a small application built using Seam 2.2, Richfaces 3.3, JBoss 5.1. Most of the page navigation adds the request parameters to the target URL. I would like to hide parameters to be hidden to the customer who is using the application (e.g. I would expect the URL to be something like "http://localhost:8080/books/Book.seam". The parameters (userId, orderId and cmId) are currently mapped to the backend bean via Book.page.xml. How do I prevent the request parameters from showing up in the browser URL, as it also allows the customer to manipulate the URL. We did look at seam URL re-writing feature, it talked about manipulating say the primary key id in a REST format, not sure how to accomplish something more complex like the above use case in a elegant fashion.

  I'm building an open source 2D game engine called YoghurtGum. Right now I'm working on the Android port, using the NDK provided by Google. If someone could explain to me where I went wrong in my test or what option or I forgot in my linker, I would be very, extremely grateful. Thanks in advance.   Hi i am new to ACE. i just started ACE with a "HELLO WORLD" program. It compiled successfully but while building it produces some of the errors.Can anyone help me. • SQL - How to join on similar (not exact) columns

  I have two tables which get updated at almost the exact same time - I need to join on the datetime column. I've tried this: SELECT * FROM A, B WHERE ABS(DATEDIFF(second, A.Date_Time, B.Date_Time) = ( SELECT MIN(ABS(DATEDIFF(second, A.Date_Time, B2.Date_Time))) FROM B AS B2 ) But it tells me: Multiple columns are specified in an aggregated expression containing an outer reference. If an expression being aggregated contains an outer reference, then that outer reference must be the only column referenced in the expression. How can I join these tables?

  Hi All, long time listener, first time caller. I use SPs and this isn't an SP vs code-behind "Build your SQL command" question. I'm looking for a high-throughput method for a backend app that handles many small transactions. I use SQLDataReader for most of the returns since forward only works in most cases for me. I've seen it done many ways, and used most of them myself. Methods that define and accept the stored procedure parameters as parameters themselves and build using cmd.Parameters.Add (with or without specifying the DB value type and/or length) Assembling your SP params and their values into an array or hashtable, then passing to a more abstract method that parses the collection and then runs cmd.Parameters.Add Classes that represent tables, initializing the class upon need, setting the public properties that represent the table fields, and calling methods like Save, Load, etc I'm sure there are others I've seen but can't think of at the moment as well. I'm open to all suggestions.

• Will implicit data type conversion in SQL affect performance?

  I have 2 samples that effectively do the same thing -- Sample 1: command.Parameters.Add(ParamFoo, SqlDbType.Int) command.Parameters(ParamFoo).Value = fooVal Sample 2: command.Parameters.AddWithValue(ParamBar, barVal) Which sample would be recommended? I know that the second sample is making some conversions. Wouldn't it be best to not require conversions and go with the first sample?

This function is being called by a loop, and without the alert, I only get results for the last value sent to the statement. With it, I get everything I was expecting and really I'm at a loss to know why. I've heard that this may be a timing issue as I'm sending new requests before the old one is finished. I also heard polling being mentioned, but I can't find any information detailed enough. I'm new to synchronous services and I'm not really aware of the issues.
