    Is JSunit really a direct port of Junit to Javascript? So I have heard, but I am wondering why my company is not using it. My company has lots of smart minds, so If we are not using it I wonder if there are any major issues with Jsunit as a javascript test harness. Input would be much appreciated. thanks!

  • Is there a script that would allow me to edit multiple files as if they are one file in VIM?

    I prefer to edit in one large file rather than many independent files, but due to limitations in languages, source control, and the preference of team mates I need to output to many files. What I'm looking for would recurse through all the files in a source directory and generate a single file to edit in VIM, with special file seperator markers. On save it would save the the changes to the correct file(s) ideally in a smart manner, based only on changes made. Does something like this exist?

  • IE 8 Automatically Closing <header> tag

    Background I am currently working on the final QA of a responsive website and I'm having an issue with IE 8 and IE 7. My client deals with government contracting so their website needs to be compatible with IE 8 and IE 7. I am using Modernizr with html5shiv built in. I am loading Modernizr in the footer of a WordPress theme that was custom built for this project. I'm not missing a doctype or any other obvious code. I am using the following scripts, all of which are loaded in the footer of WordPress: jQuery 1.10.1 Modernizr 2.6.3 (click for config) respond.js 1.3.0 superfish jQuery Waypoints 2.0.3 jQuery Waypoints Sticky 2.0.3 The Situation I'm having an issue with IE 8 automatically closing a <header> tag. I would really really really like to finish this website over the weekend. I've been banging my head against a wall for the past few hours over this issue.   • In the UK, how do I find an address given the GPS coordinates?

Say I am standing at the fount door of a house, given the GSP coordinates from a smart phone, how can I find the address I am standing at? Is GPS good enough for this? How much does the data/service I need to use cost? What other questions should I be asking about this?

    Per subject, how does msbuild decide whether it needs to rebuild a library (ie, invoke csc), or not, when it is run against a C# project file? I imagine (but want to confirm): If there's no output directory, rebuild (duh :) ) If a C# file has changed, rebuild If an included file marked copy-always has changed, rebuild or is it smart enough to not rebuild, but just copy the file to the existing output? If an included file marked copy-if-newer has changed, rebuild same question as above

    So I have to send a java project to someone outside our company who has no experience with java and they need to compile it. Is there an easy way to do it on the windows command line that does not require writing out lists of the files? Personally I think javac should be smart enough to handle javac * when in the folder just under the root of the package hierarchy. Is there anything in this ballpark?

  • LInux C++: how do profile time wasted due to cache misses?

    I know that I can use gprof to benchmark my code. However, I have this problem -- I have a smart pointer that has an extra level of indirection (think of it as a proxy object). As a result, I have this extra layer that effects pretty much all functions, and screws with caching. Is there a way to measure the time my CPU wastes due to cache misses? Thanks!

C++ is a great general-purpose language, but perhaps too general and feature-rich: multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could go on.   • AS3: How can I access a movieclip in a different scene?

    I want to access a MovieClip in another scene than I'm currently in. More specific I want to set a TextField to a certain value from a "preloader"-scene. This is for handling totally dynamic language phrases. Maybe this is the wrong way. I'm loading a XML with language phrases that I want to replace the textfields with. We could do this by altering all MovieClips, but I think this could be a smart solution, if it's possible! :)
