• Boot xen server through ipxe

  I'm want install Xen Server 6.2 though ipxe, I tried different configurations, no luck making to work until now. I found some may example to boot from pxe using TFTP server, and here is an example: default xenserver-auto label xenserver-auto kernel mboot.c32 append xenserver/xen.gz dom0_max_vcpus=1-2 dom0_mem=752M,max:752M com1=115200,8n1 console=com1,vga --- xenserver/vmlinuz xencons=hvc console=hvc0 console=tty0 answerfile=http://[pxehost]/answerfile.xml remotelog=[SYSLOG] install --- xenserver/install.img The problem is that ipxe uses different syntax, I could not figure out how to convert this configuration to work on ipxe. Here is my ipxe file so far: #!ipxe echo "XEN Server is booting up" initrd http://server-ip/pxe/xen/boot/xen.gz kernel http://server-ip/pxe/xen/boot/pxelinux/mboot.c32 boot Can any one supply the correct configuration?

• FireFox/NoScript: why has the NoScript icon disappeared?

  Why has the appearence of NoScript changed? Using Noscript in FireFox (Microsoft Windows): Until now there has been an icon (the S icon) in the lower right of the screen. But now there is an button instead with the text "Options". Left clicking this button seems to bring up the menu as right clicking the old icon. Can I restore the previous state? Is there an auto-update function in NoScript and if so could it have caused the change? If it exists can the auto-update function be disabled? Platform: FireFox 3.0.6, NoScript 1.9.0.6, Windows XP 64 bit, 8 GB RAM.

• Is there any *good* HTML-mode for emacs?

  I love emacs, and I want to do my web-programming work in it, but I can't find a way to get it to edit HTML properly. I mean it's seriously awful. It will do HTML fine, but not PHP, javascript, etc. I tried getting html-helper-mode... I downloaded it, put it in /usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp, and added it to my .emacs file: (autoload 'html-helper-mode "html-helper-mode" "Yay HTML" t) (setq auto-mode-alist (cons '("\\.html$" . html-helper-mode) auto-mode-alist)) copied and pasted from some site (I don't know elisp). it just, doesn't highlight anything at all. I tried downloading a whole bunch of modes and using some other mode to string them together, to no avail. Emacs is so great in every other way--why can't it do the simple task of editing web pages? I mean, it's a pretty standard thing to do for editors these days. So, does anyone know how to do this?

• Do any Windows IM clients support Adium styles?

  I know I can't actually get Adium on Windows. Are there any Windows IM clients that at least support Adium styles, specifically Contact List Styles and Message Styles? Pidgin is heart-breakingly close, but as far as I can tell, it's not there yet: Pidgin-WebKit would be perfect, except it doesn't seem to compile on Windows. adium2pidgin-themes converts Adium Xtras into Pidgin themes, but only supports sound, status, and emoticon theme types: -t TYPE, --type=TYPE type of theme, may be: auto, sound, status or emoticon, default: auto The Pidgin project is considering merging Pidgin-WebKit into Pidgin itself, but that sounds like a long way off: Most notably, we've been talking about merging the webkit integration branch into what will become 3.0.0. Eventually, this would allow the support of Adium's message styles, although it may not happen right away. So, are there any Windows IM clients that support Adium styles today?

• Outlook 2007 Archiving through macros

  In Outlook 2007, the Archiving options are very forbidding. I DONT want Outllok to Auto Archive, I prefer to do it manually. Having said that, I want Outlook to ARCHIVE only a selected set of folders. In older version, unchecking the "include in auto arhive" option excludes these folders. Unfortunately 2007 makes life more complicated. A. Can someone help me how to exclude a set of sub-folders from archiving while doing a manual archiving. B. Is there a way I can use Macros to archive folders, this will solve all my problems.

• path problem with mod_rewrite, XDebug, PDT, XAMPP and Windows XP

  My mod_rewrite turns accounts/create into index.php?folder=accounts&action=create, but pdt ignores it, so when I try to start a PHP Script debug session, I have to type a folder location in the file field and pdt doesn't accept. When PDT auto generates the URL for the PHP Web Page debug session, I go to http://localhost/myframe/index.php?XDEBUG%5FSESSION%5FSTART=ECLIPSE%5FDBGP&KEY=12569067976875, but myframe is in the frameworks folder, so I get a 404 error. When I check a breakpoint, uncheck Auto Generate, add frameworks before myframe in URL, set Start Debug from http://localhost/frameworks/myframe/accounts/create in Advanced and click Debug, the debugger doesn't stop at the breakpoint.

• Can't ping devices by IP address for devices allocated IPs by DHCP

  I have a home network with a Trendnet wireless router and a Windows Domain. The Domain Controller/DNS server is a Windows 2000 Server and is configured to forward queries to DNS servers provided by the ISP. The router provides DHCP and is configured with the Windows 2000 Server as the DNS server. The network has been set up for a couple of years and usually works fine. When I connect iPhones to the network over WiFi, the router can ping the iPhones through its browser based admin interface, but Windows machines that are part of the Windows Domain cannot. A laptop was connected to the network over WiFi that wasn't joined to the domain and it could see the iPhones. The router UI shows that the laptop has a reserved IP allocated via DHCP. All machines either have a static or DHCP allocated IP on the 192.168.0.* subnet. Router - 192.168.0.1 - Static - Wired Windows Domain Controller - 192.168.0.8 - Static - Virtual Windows 7 Workstation - 192.168.0.200 - DHCP Auto - Wired VMWare ESXi Host - 192.168.0.201 - Static? - Wired iPhone 1 - 192.168.0.202 - DHCP Auto - WiFi iPhone 2 - 192.168.0.203 - DHCP Auto - WiFi Windows Vista Laptop - 192.168.0.204 - DHCP Reserved - WiFi Using the Windows 7 machine (200), I try to ping each machine and the only DHCP machine that responds is itself. The other DHCP machines fail with Reply from 192.168.0.200: Destination host unreachable.. Using nslookup fails with *** domain.controller.name can't find 192.168.0.203: Non-existent domain. Using the Windows 2000 Domain Controller (8), I try to ping each machine and the only DHCP machine that responds is the Windows 7 machine (200). Pinging the other DHCP machines fails with Request timed out.. Using nslookup also fails with *** domain.controller.name can't find 192.168.0.203: Non-existent domain. Using the iPhone 2 (203), I try to ping (Network Ping Lite) the machines with static IP addresses and that works fine. When I try to ping the Windows 7 machine (200) it is unable to get a response. How do I configure the DNS server/Windows Domain/Router properly so that the Windows Domain machines can see the IPs allocated via DHCP?

• ORDER BY job failed in the Pig script while running EmbeddedPig using Java

  I have this following pig script, which works perfectly using grunt shell (stored the results to HDFS without any issues); however, the last job (ORDER BY) failed if I ran the same script using Java EmbeddedPig. If I replace the ORDER BY job by others, such as GROUP or FOREACH GENERATE, the whole script then succeeded in Java EmbeddedPig. So I think it's the ORDER BY which causes the issue. Anyone has any experience with this? Any help would be appreciated!   I developed a Java utility library (similarly to Apache Commons) that I use in various projects. Additionally to fat clients I also use it for mobile clients (PDA with J9 Foundation profile). In time the library that started as a single project spread over multiple packages. As a result I end up with a lot of functionality but not really needed in all the projects. Since this library is also used inside some mobile/PDA projects I need a way to collect just the used classes and generate the actual specialized jars Currently in the projects that area using this library, I have Ant jar tasks that generate (from the utility project) the specialized jar files (ex: my-util-1.0-pda.jar, my-util-1.0-rcp.jar) using include/exclude jar task features. This is mostly needed due to the generated jar size constraints for the mobile projects. Migrating now to Maven I just wonder if there are any best practices to arrive to something similar so I consider the following scenarios: [1] - additionally to the main jar artifact (my-lib-1.0.jar) also generating inside my-lib project the separate/specialized artifacts using classifiers (ex: my-lib-1.0-pda.jar) using Maven Jar Plugin or Maven Assembly Plugin filtering/includes ... I'm not very comfortable with this approach since it pollute the library with library consumers demands (filters) [2] - Create additional Maven projects for all the specialized clients/projects, that will "wrap" the "my-lib" and generate the filtered jar artifacts (ex: my-lib-wrapper-pda-1.0 ...etc). As a result, these wrapper projects will include the filtering (to generate the filtered artifact) and will depend just on the "my-lib" project and the client projects will depend on my-lib-wrapper-xxx-1.0 instead of my-lib-1.0. This approach my look problematic since even that will let "my-lib" project intact (with no additional classifiers & artifacts), basically will double the number of projects since for every client project I'll have one just to collect the needed classes from the "my-util" library ("my-pda-app" project will need a "my-lib-wrapper-for-my-pda-app" project/dependency) [3] - Into the every client project that use the library (ex: my-pda-app) add some specialized Maven plugins to trim - out (when generating the final artifact/package) the un-needed classes (ex: maven-assembly-plugin, maven-jar-plugin, proguard-maven-plugin) What is the best practice for solving this kind of problems in the "Maven way" ?!

• Git - ssh key / ip address

  When I set up Git, I did it while using a dsl modem, and my ip isn't static, so when I generated the ssh keys for Git, it was based on that ip. When I'm assigned an ip other than the one used to generate the ssh Git keys, I can manually change the ip address to the one used to generate the keys. What are my other options to bypass this step? Dynamic DNS? Is there another way?

  In my naming convention, I use _name for private member variables. I noticed that if I auto-generate a constructor with ReSharper, if the member is a keyword, it will generate an escaped keyword. For example: Random r = new Random(); int x = r.nextInt(100); This would generate an int number more or equal to 0 and less than 100. • QtCreator on linux: 32-bits vs. 64-bits.
